The Gamecube wasn't a bad system at all. But it did also have some REALLY fucking stiff competition. First, you had the PS2 with its LOOONNG list of games, cheaper price, full PS1 backward compat., and free DVD player. PS2 had a lot of great first-party titles and it got most of the RPG market too. And then right after that, you had a major newcomer in the form of the original Xbox. The big question is if we'll see a new Mario Kart this gen or if Nintendo's just gonna wait until the Switch's successor to make a Mario Kart 9. On one hand MK8 Deluxe is such a top seller on its own it's possible some people in Nintendo might be going "that game's already doing so well I don't think we really need a new one just yet" (add to this the fact Nintendo has only made a single Mario Kart game per system, and with how poorly the Wii U sold I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo just pretends the Wii U original release of MK8 never happened), BUT on the other hand I thought Nintendo wouldn't make a new Splatoon for the Switch since Splatoon 2 is still a high seller, but Splatoon 3's confirmed for 2022 so that opens up the possibility maybe Mario Kart 9 could come out this gen.

Gotcha Force has that feel of an anime you saw on Fox Family in like 2002 it was poorly dubbed that you have no idea what it was called until you looked it up. Also Kirby Air Ride was the game I rented all the time as a kid because well the show aired and it was Kirby. It was kind of my first Kirby game.

On one hand, yeah casually saying a Sonic-Mario crossover almost didn't happen is shocking, but have you seen the sales numbers of this series? It's bigger than the Mario and Sonic series combined.
Two things. 1: The Gotcha Force community is live and MASSIVE. The discord is very active and you can find free emulations for it in every which way. Some that balance the borgs, some that change the music, and some that even add additional content. There is even a small competitive scene. 2: THE GAME HAS FRICKIN TRANSFORMER BORGS THAT COMBINE LIKE GURREN LAGAN.
"With colorful robots and horrific voice acting, Gotcha Force begs to be a shitty anime with a 4kids dub. Perhaps next time you should schedule the voice recording session *before* the lobotomy." Honestly one of the best Pan quotes ever, it always fucking sends me.

It's funny how rare and expensive Gotcha Force has become. There were literally 3 people on my street with the game me included... Of course I broke the disc because I was a fucking idiot child.
It has been my dream to see you talk about Kirby air ride! A couple years ago my friends and I tried to make a competitive city trial scene.. we weren’t successful but one can dream. Anyway, if you made an full review of it I would not complain. Happy to see you branching out more into games!
I'm so glad you showed a clip from that flash animation Mario Kart Underground. My friend's thought I had a fever dream when I tried to describe it to them since I couldn't find the clip.
If you ever talk about Gamecube games again, I hope you'll consider playing Custom Robo. It was one of my family's favorite games to play together, and I've played through it recently enough to say that it holds up. The story mode is funnier than I remembered it being. There's a pretty famous scene in the game where it asks you what shape the world is, and you get called stupid if you say it's round instead of flat. It's a decent challenge trying to unlock all of the illegal robo parts in the post-game, too.
I never expected him to talk about Dark Summit. I had it during my childhood lost it at some point, and only just re-found it a year ago. God it was a blast to play then and coming back loved it again, the art-style was rad at the time and now i enjoy the ambiance it gives off. When the prompt sent out bout games was released i commented about Dark Summit only to remove it later, due to the fact it was ported to other consoles. Now i got my wish i can sleep easy.
I got Smashing Drive for the GBA off of some emulator site when I was looking for Smash Melee. It's a wild game, and I'm glad you covered the Gamecube version here.
Glad you talked about Dark Summit. I picked that game up about a year ago as a huge SSX fan and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed a lot of aspects about it, especially it's Drum & Bass soundtrack.

I'm glad you brought up the GBA port of Smashin Drive. I remember seeing it in a Stop Skeletons From Fighting video and being impressed by how it's a full 3d game on a GBA.
I’ve never actually cared enough about Air Ride to see a ton of gameplay of it, but seeing this just made me realize just how many ideas from there were either borrowed from Melee or ended up being used later on in Brawl and Kid Icarus Uprising. And then of course you have Sakurai’s wife’s UI design which looks extremely similar in nearly every Sakurai-directed game from that point on. It’s too bad a lot of that magic disappeared once he stopped working with HAL (in terms of Smash though, Kid Icarus Uprising is great).

Being subbed to Nintendo power during the gcn life span makes me remember all of these somehow
Same lol. Most of these games I didn't have or have never played, yet I somehow feel nostalgic for each one.
@@chrismatthews653 wake me up when someone remembers Goblin Commander
@@BIacklce man I rented goblin commander for the GameCube from blockbuster like 8 times in a row. I actually found a ps2 copy a few years back and bought it for $5, best RTS game ever
“Watch out for the paparazzi Princess” Oh Pan
Princess Diana reference?
volarecantare yes
Man, Air Ride was my first Kirby game. It was literally the only game they had for the GameCube when I was stuck in the hospital as a kid, so I played it like crazy to kill time. Brings back memories.
Oh so that's where AVGN's boiling piss went.
There’s something about that early 2000s game music that I vibe with that I haven’t seen much of at all recently.
The Mario Kart Underground flash animation shot me straight back to my Newgrounds days. Thank you for this memory.
I can always count on Pan Pizza to introduce awesome ost's from games I've never heard of.
Kirby Air Ride is my favorite gamecube game of all time. I'm super nostalgic of playing it with my college roommates every night and doing endless city trials. Glad you covered it!
I hope Pan will do top 6 weird obscure games for the Wii. That console had plenty of that.
The Wii is overhated.
@@wisconsinking323 who hates the wii
@@daveraschke There's LOTS of people who (for some reason) hate it, they claim it's not a real gaming system, and other reasons. I LOVE the Wii, I don't care what people say.
@@wisconsinking323 I still remember back when _"Hardcore"_ gaming meant playing any system but the Wii.
The Klonoa Wii remake and the Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution trilogy?
17:01 Truly a rare gem I enjoyed playing for over a year. And it felt like it took forever to unlock the two titans that combined into a bigger titan when on a two player team.
So glad to see Go! Go! Hypergrind getting the attention it deserves. Fucking love that game, even made a video on it. I knew Taxi was with it cus he used its music in the past.
All these other games are ACE. RebelTaxi flexin' with that good taste.
Your little breaks are like... 3D animated ThorHighHeels cut-ins. It's pretty rad. Also, there were a two whole games in here I'd never heard of, good show. Dark Summit is wild.
I was about to ask if anyone had a warm smile upon hearing that ScrewAttack music.
It's even more heartwarming to see I'm not alone.
Pan I love the new designs for Loki IRL, Bianca actually looks like something that I can see on CN.
Kirby's Air Ride. AKA: City Trial With A Few Other Modes
Kirby Air Ride: AKA the only Kirby game we got on the Nintendo GameCube
BROOOO GAMECUBE WAS A WEIRD EXPERIENCE!
Edit: Definitely getting gotcha force as a rom lmfaoo
On one hand, yeah casually saying a Sonic-Mario crossover almost didn't happen is shocking, but have you seen the sales numbers of this series? It's bigger than the Mario and Sonic series combined.
I still remember the hype about sonic in smash bruh that was wild back then
Which discord?
Apparently Pan has never heard of emulation, or console mods/third-party devices that allow you to run games from an SD card.
"With colorful robots and horrific voice acting, Gotcha Force begs to be a shitty anime with a 4kids dub. Perhaps next time you should schedule the voice recording session *before* the lobotomy."
Honestly one of the best Pan quotes ever, it always fucking sends me.
The GameCube didn’t sell well but in retrospect, I still think it’s one of Nintendo’s strongest consoles. Glad my childhood GameCube still works.
Great job! I actually haven't heard about half of these.
Just wanted to say i was with your videos from the very beginning and to me you ware always a perfect content creator. After all these years you never have fell out of touch or lost your integrity, like many others have.
That Gabriel's Horn joke was hilarious
That part made me cracked up in the Smashing Drive segment
Gotcha Force was such a GOAT'ed game as a child. I spent so many hours with my brother and friends trying to get all the borgs, especially the companion borgs the characters had
THAT TRANSITION AT 7:00 IS BEAUTIFUL
Nice pfp, where is it from?
I’ve watched your videos for a few years and you continue to have that dope toonami esc vibe, much love
It's funny how rare and expensive Gotcha Force has become. There were literally 3 people on my street with the game me included... Of course I broke the disc because I was a fucking idiot child.
Well then obviously theres max 2 on your street how you just gonna go and contradict yourself like that
'Soooooooooo, HEY! I'm Stutterin' Craig'!
'And I'm Pan Pizza! For Rebel Taxi's Top 10 Gamecube Games!'
the fact that pan said cd players are from the 19th century is amazing
I cant believe Pan Pizza hasn't reviewed Jet Set Radio
Actually, I think he did review the first Jet Set Radio game back in 2012
@@bengercak8391 Well it was a long time ago and he could review JSRF too tho
@@AJ-nd2cf True. Just wanted to let you know that he has reviewed the first game :)
The first two games are literally rebel taxi explaining the origins of his channel ideas.
Gotcha Force looks like one of those games I would of EATEN UP as a kid. It's a damn shame it didn't do well.
I watched all these games just sit on the shelves of Blockbusters and Gamestops for years
I got Smashing Drive for the GBA off of some emulator site when I was looking for Smash Melee. It's a wild game, and I'm glad you covered the Gamecube version here.
“Watch out for the paparazzi princess” made me lol XD
Glad you talked about Dark Summit. I picked that game up about a year ago as a huge SSX fan and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed a lot of aspects about it, especially it's Drum & Bass soundtrack.
Why did you make me remember Mario Kart Underground? Also imagine if they got Sonic and Crash Bandicoot in Double Dash
Also Pan I would love to see you cover the Kirby lore. Also Sakurai should not puss out and start giving love to modern Kirby
I would be down for a Go Go Hypergrind remake to have Persona characters!
"Watch out for the paparazzi, Princess" might be among the darkest jokes on this channel, and that's really saying something. Big approve.
Grizzly is such an awesome band that I found thanks to this video. I wish I could find their stuff anywhere besides YT.
i got recommended this video and im so glad i clicked. i love you structer and the random vintage game sounds and talking between clips just feels amazing subbed
1:30 - 1:39 That’d be like if Capcom did a Racing Game with Butch Hartman, or a Gory hack and slash competitive Brawler from SEGA and Platinum Games in collaboration with Vivziepop and Robert Kirkman
That would be amazing
You know having Vivziepop and Robert Kirkman mentioned in the same sentence is very funny in retrospect.
man, rebeltaxi is so relaxing to watch for me, something about his tone of voice along with the nostalgic music really hits just right.
Kinda just want Chibi Robo to get some love
I still have my copy, or well, my friend has my copy since he wanted to play it. I played it recently on my tablet since Dolphin emulator works surprisingly well, Chibi Robo definitely needs more love.
@Joshua Bull aint gonna lie, definitely felt that drag when playing it recently. Its still fun, but yeah...
Same, and Chibo's couch-crawling got me jonesing for a proper sim/platformer about cats
That Princess Diana joke near the end hit me like a limousine.
The Gamecube made my Childhood.
28:26 OMFG that was a throw back to such a classic af newgrounds animation :D
You should do custom robo next, literally nobody ever mentions it.
I got Air Ride after I saw a guy called Mic the Microphone playing it on stream. The race mode is pretty good on its own, but City Trial is definitely why it stood out.
It's Juice and Jam time.
Girl Eli
Re-watching this video so many times made me dig out my old copy of Gotcha Force. God, that game rules.
The music at the start makes me miss ScrewAttack...
What happened to ScrewAttack?
@@kittykittybangbang9367 it was bought by RoosterTeeth and did nothing but Death Battle stuff for so long that they just uped and changed the the whole brand to Death Battle.
Stuttering Craig started GameAttack focusing on live streaming let's plays, but he's since left that to start his own independent channel focused more on podcasts with the occasional game stream.
I'm glad you brought up the GBA port of Smashin Drive. I remember seeing it in a Stop Skeletons From Fighting video and being impressed by how it's a full 3d game on a GBA.
That first game was so trippy, I thought I was watching an obscure Japanese PS1 game
Note on the rare games like Gotcha Force, Hypergrind, Smashing Drive and Dark Summit, they are available to emulate so that's a lot saved time and money
Mario Kart: Double Dash was one of the few Gamecube games I've played IMMENSELY during summer break. So much that I pretended to play as a computer player just for fun.
Who else miss playing Double Dash?, ah memories
not gonna lie
Your channel is definitely part of the reason GoGo Hypergrind is so expensive now.
Not a bad thing, just worth crediting you where it's due. Got lots of people looking it up when they see that music credit.
damnit pan
Yet another way for Pan to show his superiority by rubbing in the fact that he owns Gotcha Force! 😔
