Hello all! It's October & we begin Halloween month with the Atomiswave games that have successfully seen ports for the Dreamcast! Hope you enjoy my take on the games featured!
Hey! Thanks for this video. I tried Knights of Valour in one of the latest ReDream dev builds and it works! Also now you can use your mouse for lightgun games :) Thought you might be interested to know and again thanks!
I got a few takeaways from this. I did not know Sega kept Dreamcast going long after it was basically discontinued. Some of those arcade racing games remind me of what I'd see in a mall arcade/restaurant near me. I'm American and I know just as much as you about American football; people throw around the ball, try to do some tackling, and lucky players score touchdowns for their team. Like you said, few of the titles seemed phoned in in a whateveeer kind of way. About the kids games; no doubt there's a ton of mobile kids games that are better quality than the Samy ones here. I hope the vid does incredibly well, because I'm sure many Dreamcast enthusiasts in the west hadn't heard of all this.
There's definitely a lot to take away & like you, I didn't know this was a thing until last year! Glad I got to try out the games & show them off to you :))
Hi, I need some help... Do you know how to access the cabinet on these ports, from an emulator? It is that they are arcade games, and many of them are excessively laborious in the default difficulty. Thank you.
My best advice is to look at the read me files as that might contain the information you are looking for, unfortunately I've never attempted to change the difficulty, sorry mate :o
I disagree, not saying REDREAM is the absolute best emulator for Dreamcast but it works well & for me it does exactly what I want reliably ^^ How ever I can test out your suggestion & put it against FlyCast to see how they fare!
Brilliant episode…and great to see some games i just didnt know about …..im gonna try sports shooting USA on a Dreamcast to see if it will work with a light gun ….thanks for this x
I've been researching this topic on the forums and there seems to be no way to access the game options. As far as I'm concerned, I consider these to be partial ports, since you don't have access to all the features of a game. For example; There are people like me who speak Spanish and I would like to be able to change the language of a specific game. I also know people who would like to play arcade style by putting in coins, but with these ports they will only be able to play in free mode. For my part, I would like to be able to adjust the level of difficulty and mainly the number of rounds in a fighting game... It's a shame these ports don't have all the features of the original games.
Technically, there's a way to do it. Don't remember all the steps, but you have to open the arcade game version with Demul emulator. Change the settings to the ones you want. Then you have to extract the file that contain those options and replace the one on the dreamcast port. There should be a tutorial about how to do it somewhere on the net.

I think ReDream suck, use the FlyCast Retroarch core, it has more options.

I know it can be frustrating when features are not available for all but I hope overtime more of these features will be made available:))
