You can start to run into problems with them blowing out just like Matthew said, sometimes around high 700s and up. Been there a few too many times to take the risk again.
800 HP may not absolutely need it, all depending on how the truck is used. This truck in particular gets abused to try and put our parts through their paces. Glow plugs have been seen to cause problems even at high 700 HP range making the glow plug delete not necessary, but a great way to avoid problems in in the future.
The whole point is to see how low of a temp it will start given the lower compression and other changes made to the truck. Using anything other than the starter to fire the truck up would be cheating.... unless the batteries die then a jump pack too
The smoke rings are legit
i wanna know what starter and what batteries you have good lord
That starter, one stout unit! 😄
Spe is nothing but the best!
I can almost smell it through the phone
Better get that thing to a shop. Must have problems
Thinking we may have need an extension cord!
It'll be fine lol
What is the advantage of glow plug delete?
Some high horse power 6.7s like to launch glowplugs. Cylinder pressure can get so high that they leak… not something you want to do on a daily
Nothing. 800hp your glowplugs ain't blowing out

Gonna wash the cylinder’s!
People that don’t have a diesel truck will never understand the struggle of starting a diesel in extreme cold weather…
No hate but 800hp isn't enough to say "yeah I gotta delete my glowplugs"

Was I the only one cheering it on when it would start to catch? Then call it an ornery S.O.B. when it shut off. hahaha
What a beast 😍
Engine block heater deleted as well?

Poor starter ha
Give the poor girl a sniff
Couldn't cheat like that lol
I have several 6.7s and they start very easily in sub zero temps
Do you have a glow plugs delete too or are you talking about a stock truck? 2 completely different things
