Wow. If that's because you miss the good old days of Microsoft, that's understandable since I miss that era a lot as well. After all, isn't reliving Windows XP a very fun and nostalgic thing?
It's been a month, I have Installed Windows 11 as my main Operating System, but I still run Windows XP in virtual machine even though its 20 yrs old, but it's too nostalgic for me. I can't leave it anyway...
+Jacqueline De los Santos Gosh, this comment I made was a long time ago and it's kind of cringe. Oh well. But this song makes you feel like life is great, I feel as if that's a part of Windows XP's goal honestly. It was used in the final version of Windows XP - you're right. :)
Somehow, a UA-cam user named Hardware Dream already managed to obtain a higher quality file of the early version of that music track back in late 2017. Here is a link to his UA-cam video upload for it if you'd like to listen to it: ua-cam.com/video/SID_ikfX8QI/v-deo.html
@@Imthecoolguy6 It's okay; that's a step above some analog-to-digital conversions of mid 20th century soundtracks that even have fuzz remaining in them.
Great idea! I'll have to see if I can make an arrangement for the Windows XP Home Edition version of the tour software as I've been planning to get back into working on walkthroughs of software programs and video games. Thanks for your request!
That version of the music track for "The Connected Home and Office" is also my favorite from some early versions of the Windows XP Tour software. It sounds glamorous, so it's a shame it was never used in the final build.
They're the same, they just changed the order, the Whistler version of the "The Connected Home And Office" music has been removed, and they made a totaly new music for the intro.

is there an explanation as to why these tracks sound like they're being picked up by a mic that's farther away than the final versions? it sounds like there's a lot of reverb coming from everything
It sounds like they were experimenting with the compositions when they were figuring out how they were supposed to be heard in the final release of the Windows XP Tour. The versions of the music in this video were just test counterparts because, if Microsoft and Bill Brown were going to find some elements that needed improvements, they had to make sure the final versions did not have as much reverb. Just my theory.
So far, only a high quality upload of the early beta versions' "The Connected Home and Office" music has been uploaded to UA-cam by Hardware Dream, which can be listened to here: ua-cam.com/video/SID_ikfX8QI/v-deo.html But I'm sorry to say that there are no high quality versions of the rest of the early beta versions' music as they haven't been revealed and uploaded to the Internet yet.
