Scott kinsey is a monster man, such a underrated pianist...
its 2019, and still nobody can beat these guys
+1. Best live band I've ever seen, and I saw all the top fusion bands at their peak in the 80s and early 90s.
Tribal Tech annihilated them all. I pretty much stopped going to shows after they broke up.
TT wiped the plate clean.
Still 2020
I remember seeing these shows.. insane. Some of the best club shows i've ever been to.
Holdsworth...
Edit: oh, I suppose that proves your point
2021
Gary Willis is a MONSTER ! I don't understand why many bass players don't understand that he is the most unique, innovative and greatest bass player! They have to focus their attention on him in order to improve their playing and understanding the whole concept of jazz/fusion bass playing !
I've been playing both electric and upright for more than 15 years now, couldn't agree more!
@@mateuszszewczyk6897 haha me too, I'm also an upright player, working in the philharmonic orchestra :)
Without Gary there be No TTech👍🏽💪🏽🎼
I mean, most people think Flea is a prodigy. Gary is waaaaay over their heads. It sounds pretentious but it's true.
He plays walking bass lines in rock fusion songs ; My DREAM style of playing.
In my opinion , Scott Henderson is the guy that brought jazz fusion guitar to a wide audience. No disrespect to the notables that paved the way for him (Al Dimeola , Allan Holdsworth, John Scofield) No Doubt, Tribal Tech is the band and Scott Henderson is the man!
No Doubt are not jazz fusion.
@@TheStoneTapeSimulacrum that’s the most hilarious reply to a comment I’ve EVER read in the UA-cam realm. Please don’t stop!😅😊😂😢
I was so lucky to live all my 90"s with TRIBAL TECH.
Been a musician my whole life and just now heard of these guys .... Kirk Covington is an absolute monster
This band is absolutely what defines fusion jazz for me. Incredible stuff!
helll yeaaaahhhhhh
100% man!

@@TheMrFunktastic2 Thanks man!
Really apreciated man!!
Great help buddy
Its 2023, and still nobody can beat these guys!!
I love Scott's playing, great feel, and tone! Gary is nothing short of amazing. Kirk likes to bang the drums real loud then drink a few beers, he's got the chops to rock you. I hope he doesn't have to play Barry Manilow and is having fun. Kinsey looks like he might be able to get you a good deal on a computer, until he shows you what he can do on a keyboard! Thanks for the video.
Jazz rock musicians 🤣
The people that give this a thumb's down are not musically educated!!!!!!
Nah not at all , they're just mentally disabled...
Are there any?
Scott's guitar work during that blues number is stunning.
Scott plays more in 3 minutes than most guitarist play in a lifetime !!!!!!
totaly agree
Gary Willis is all over that axe! He know where he is goin when he solos like to another galaxy and back.
The first time I heard Tribal Tech, 27 hears ago (and I still do, regularly), it really felt like something new. Not just their (obviously obvious) absurd virtuosity. It was the sound, the concept, the feeling. It's not just a simple evolution (like some say) from Zawinul, Corea, etc. It really did add something new. 27 years on and they are still no. 1 on my playlist. And Scott Henderson my no. 1guitarist. And Gary Willis, my no. 1 bassist. Period.
Just ridiculous.....the combination of funk, fusion, shuffle, jazz and swing is fuckin awesome!! I had the amazing opportunity to study under Willis at BIT 89-90. Got to see the band rehearsing at school, great bunch of guys!! Love and miss them touring.....
Scotts playing and phrasing will stand the test of time like Holdsworth. Thank You for this incredible performance vid! Rip Jeff Beck
His hair style, sadly, will not stand the test of time
I can easily detect his Allen Holdsworth influence.
I believe it already has. Scott is a monster. I can clearly hear the Holdsworth and Beck influences, but also easily hear a lot of Henderson in other players such as Greg Howe.
Need a petition signing event to get TT back together!
They could probably sell out 3 straight nights at the Baked Potato. I'd be there for at least one...
God Damn! Gotta find the keys to my time machine, and go back to the mid 90s and see these guys!
I forgot just how good these guys were, lord!! Almost 30 years ago, and this stuff is still as fresh and as good as anything ever!!
These right here are the GODs of Jazz Fusion...other folks who are written about in the magazines and who win grammys for best jazz albums and shit don't even come close by a million light years. Tribal Tech is in a different brain bending class of their own.
tribal tech is So cool🎉
They are my favorite❤
I went to their gig three times in Japan❣️❣️
awesome 👍👍👍👍
The best Fusion band since 1983.
well I mean ya know up there with CC Elektric Band for sure.
don't forget frank gambale
Kovington is really amazing
Scott Kinsey and Gary deserve way more highlight than they get. For those paying attention, they had to help change they way you think about your approach to music! Legendary stuff!
Gary holds everything together and gives it meaning..Kinsey's harmony is staggering..not to mention his soloing. When he saunters up to the keyboard in the final number and drops straight into that syncopated descending chromatic line was hysterical... Meanwhile Gary is always there, effortlessly providing a flawless backdrop...Such a powerhouse band. If you don't know music, you just don't know how good these guys are...
I listened to these guys when i was 20 now I have 28 but there's somethin that i gonna say: Tribal Tech is the best jazz rock fusion band thar exists
Bass,bAss,baSS,BASS mOre BASS !! GW grooves & wAlks like HELL !!
Gary Willis's solo on the first track ....dam ....
This is epic! These guys are not from earth!
Scott is always miles ahead of anybody else. ;)
he is great, but doubtful anyone, ever, was ahead of Allan Holsdworth
Also, not miles ahead of Gambale, Shawn Lane or john Mcglaughlin
There's no faking it with this music
I was at that show!
me too!
@@spwarrington me three
this is one of the most outrageous musical acts of all time
Gary Willis has taken Jaco's bass lines one step further !!! As for Scott ?.... What can one say ? ...
wes wora
Prog guys need to listen to this stiff more.
Followed Scott from his ealry work with Jef Berlin and must say this is my favourite era and sound, as opposed to his more gnarly guitar tone of recent years. Definitely one of the modern greats in the pantheon of fusion guitarists.
The Players
I have played electric for 30+ years but Gary is one of those guys that makes me want to play bass. Such a cool cat.
Far Out . Ibanez to Suhr , what a journey
Great group of guys, as well as musicians. Caught them during a blizzard in New Haven back in the early Nineties; had a little dinner with them beforehand. You'ld never know these dudes were so skilled, laughing it up during pizza. Great memory.
This still is as amazing as it has been 25 years ago!
THE GREATEST JAZZ FUSION BAND
The ultimate fusion power-quartet, nothing is going to touch Reality Check in that genre.
What a band, they pumped out some incredible music over the years. Scott is simply one of the greatest guitar players of his generation.
Speachless is a way to avoid not understanding more than beyond high musicality!! This kills!!! ❤
Peet the Swede
Tribal Tech was just killer... Gary Willis is my all time favorite.
Gary Willis is such a badass
more like a bassad amirite?? LOL

Best fusion band of all times !!!!!!
One of the finest performances ever.
I love TT with Joey on the drums but Kirk is a force of Nature !
Drummer in NY area looking to jam like this man!!! Cmon 2021. No one seriously?
What instrument do you play, and what kinda music?
Great fusion and Amazing blues arrangements!!!!
Scott is just so so gnarly, he’s always been one of my favorite guitar players ever
So good. Love the early TT. What sets Scott apart is that he never sounds like a noodling jazzer and has real blues/rock feel to go with it. His lines and arrangements are meolodic and themed in a way that connects in a broad musical sense. Creating music this sophisticated that's so listenable sets them apart.
exactly!!!
Glad I found this MI channel!!
Why aren't Tribal Tech more well known in the mainstream, I wonder? This set should appeal to fans of the likes of Floyd and Rush. I would put that to the test, but the only prog rock enthusiast I know is me.
Maaaaaaaaaaaan! What a set!!! I've listened to this countless times in my life but I just want to put a post here to acknowledge how fuken awesome this band is!! The BEST fusion ensemble EVER! Hands down.. even above Weather Report for me and that's saying something!
oh my god I love these guys to death, they are the invincible champions of eclectic sonar spaceology..
The best blues band ever :)
Gary its a groove dinosaur
Gary please come back from Spain & tour Tribal Tech in the states -I know I'm being GREEDY but it's soooooo good, I just can't help it!
brutal performance
They are my favorite Fusion band. I saw them twice in this same stage back in 1994. 💞💞💞
Everybody here is monster? I think im in the horror movie...it just great musicians..love it..❤
Scott swingin' hard Jack!
Completely insane performance.
To MI channel, you should at least name the line-up, not everyone knows who these musicians are, and sometimes, it changes! TY for posting this archives!
I love this band.
Man Gary just killz. Ha, when I attended MI in 93-94 my locker was across the hall from Scotts' door to his classroom. I was late to many classes because if I could get to my locker with the overflow from his class filling the hallway I would often stand there in awe as Scott played. Amazing player.
That was probably the most inspirational year of my life. Teachers like Scott, Tim Bogert, Craig Goldy, Scott Hansen, Steve Travato, Craig Turner, Danny Gill, Joe Elliot and so many other greats. How many people can say the got to share the stage with Tim Bogert (RIP) and Danny Gill in a Live Playing Workshop? Plus the free concerts like this one, Steve Travato with Albert Lee, Adrian Legg, T.O.P. Tommy Todesco, + Once in a lifetime experience.
Ps. Hats off to this sick azz drummer to. OMG.
Giant!!!!!!!!! Super!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!! Fantastic!!!!!!!!
Oui ils sont supers !
Scott Henderson.....uno de los mejores guitarristas de Jazz-Rock del sistema planetario solar.
Thanks so much for posting this!!!!!

This band is smacking!!
I love Scott's tone in this era, very different from the current one and little use of the tremolo bar, but it sounded incredible
still the best
Legends. 🤘
