I met Scott at NAMM in 2004 through my friend Scott Lerner. I walked up to him and all I could say was "your my favorite" and shook his hand. I'd still say the same thing today. I see a lot of great players, but Henderson just has something special that speaks to me. Always will. Thank you for the video!
I get where your coming from and I love Scott's playing but let's not pretend like we don't all notice the similarities between Scott and Jeff Beck's playing style. Which just the fact Scott was probably the only guitarist on this earth to come within a mile of sounding like Jeff Beck is a massive compliment to Scott in itself. We are blessed to have the pleasure of listening to a long careers worth of incredible music from both.
J'ai vu et entendu Scott à la MAI. Wow! Une énorme claque. Du son, du groove, du rythme, de la créativité: un pur moment de bonheur...et quelle humilité. Bref, la classe 🎸 quoi.
Fabulous concert!! It was funny, cause I saw him with his fantastic group exactly on the same date at the same place, one year before:) To watch him and his outstanding bandmates, man, it’s like a drug..✨
Sorry to correct you but that is not an expression pedal, it’s an E.W.S. Subtle Volumr Control. He runs it in the effects loop of the amp, to control volume during solos in particular, to keep up with the changes in dynamics that the drummer makes. You can also see him using it here to mute the guitar after licks, and you can see him boosting the volume here on held notes to add sustain.
He uses another of those pedals to control effects level of reverb and delay, yes.. but the one he’s using here is the one for volume in the effects loop of the amp, not the one that controls wet fx amount.
@@VolodymyrMatviychukguitar thanks for the quick reply. We musicians who work as sidemen with famous people like Scott need to be mentioned so that people who like what we add to the music are able to find us, hire us, hear our music, etc. Please remember to list all of the musicians playing; it's respectful and I am sure that Scott and others would want the public to know with whom they play!
I Heard him in Norway, wher I live, bu tlaso in Istanbul. i seriously today , when I suddenly came to think of him, that.......well, yeah, his finger is now, probably stiff, and...nah, he can play anymore most likely, BUT, I was wrong ! :)
Dave Matthew's Band's Under the Table and Dreaming released in 1994. It was seen as unrealistic in 1999 and again in 2003. By 2009, 15 years had passed and unlike most, I was not still listening to 1994's Under The Table and Dreaming. Super bowl recent: 1992 The chronic: I have not spent the last 32 years listening to this album.
In the Noise/Fusion style this was Good. Saw Scott about 12 years ago in NY and my friends looked at each other and said ‘WTF Happened’? Guy couldn’t play. Just Awful. Glad his chops and unique style have returned in force.
@@VolodymyrMatviychukguitar My theory was that he went thru that Blues period yet he wasn’t a natural Blues player and his fusion chops fell off. So, bad blues playing plus diminished fusion technique made for a truly disappointing show. Hey, even the best players can go through mediocre transitional periods and reemerge as solid players.
My goal isn’t to put Scott down, but seeing people call this playing here extraterrestrial or on another level is honestly laughable. Go listen to a gentleman by the name of Allan Holdsworth. That man IS the other level. This playing here respectfully and honestly doesn’t hold a candle to the burning star that is Holdsworth.
Music isn’t a competition. Holdsworth was awesome but if you called a tune to holdsworth he would never be able to pull off traditional harmony or melodic lines over changes. It’s all up to the interpreter. They are both fantastic professional players. Holdsworth used more symmetrical/diminished/augmented scale type ideas. Henderson uses more traditional blues and pentatonic based vocabulary. Point is neither of them could play like the other.

One of the best 🎸
Saw him in 2017. Was one of the best gigs I’ve seen. Nobody sounds like him
Yes, a unique musician!

Splendid!!! Reminds me of the breathtaking outbursts of McLauhglin Cobham's duo interplay within the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Great Mahavishnu vibes!
Love You Scott! if You ever want to incorporate a vocalist im here 🤣
I will tell him 😉
Genius ❤❤❤❤)))
Master 🎸
I like that blend knob that he's got his foot on and mixing in Harmonies or something it's crazy.
What’s the name of that pedal?
@@VolodymyrMatviychukguitar I would guess that it's just a mix knob that runs to the unit on top of the amp.
Beautiful hearing the two of them walk the tightrope together.
And also very groovy
Does anybody know what pedal he is operating during the solo?
An Expressionpedal. His Expressionpedal is more knob than a pedal. For reverb an delay… there is a gear video on youtube about his pedalbord

what a beast!
Man he sounds better than ever.
Yeah, he’s on fire 🎸🔥
The most impressing : Not a single guitar "cliché" or typical lick everybody'plays on the guitar,
who is the drummer???
Archibald Ligonniere

Ufff
monster player
It's true
Maybe Scott just put to rest all the debates about age and creativity and chops ? ❤
Jeez
voodoo-1?
It definitly has Tribal Tech era vibes
Amazing era
A guitar solo act for guitar instrumental gig.
im with you. i love scott, but all 'solos' or duets with the drummer like this are the worst. shakti gets a pass.
Yes I was thinking that..😅
This is nothing. I met him in 86 at GIT. He's a mind-blowing player, great teacher, and friendly person.
Yes, also amazing person!
Nothing comes close.
Scott .... not of this earth. 😋

I think that's unfair. Just because Allan Holdsworth was astonishing doesn't mean Scott Henderson isn't fucking shit hot.

What is even the point of your comment but to put down Scott? Go to a holdsworth video if you don’t like his playing.
Scott is playing his extra testicular brains out here. What a score! Get a Holdsworth of those bends and his timing. 🎉
You're missing the point. Why compare them? They liked each other playing... If you start from this your comment is useless
sounds like a drunk
Sounds amazing! Most guitarists won't play like that when sober
Sounds like “cat music”😕 Sorry, too disharmonious!
What guitar players do you like?
