Sea of Stars needs all the love! I was honestly considering putting it in my #1, I was invested from start to finish. But TOTK took many hours from me and parts of the story left me speechless. #1 - Tears of the Kingdom #2 - Sea of Stars #3 - Fae Farm
I also liked BOTW more! Objectively, TOTK is a grander and more fleshed out experience, and the world is more alive. But there’s something that just resonated more with me with BOTW, and everything felt so new and exciting to explore. It also helped me during a hard time in my life, and made me fall in love with gaming again! So there’s definitely bias there! Both fantastic games!
I think most of us agree. After spending 6 years playing BOTW, TOTK just doesn’t have the same longevity because there’s nothing much to do in the depths or in the sky islands and the surface is mostly the same. It was so wonderful starting TOTK, but I haven’t played it in several months now and probably won’t for a long time. BOTW was completely new and TOTK feels more like a great DLC.
@@Gigi-fv9ky It definitely feels like its own game, but I also have no inclination to jump back into the game after completing the main story. 100 hours was more than enough :) so excited to see what they do next!
I didn't play that many different games this year but the standout is truly Wylde Flowers (which I picked up because of you!). I started it in October and it's still my most played game this year. Also loved Spiritfarer and Potion Permit!
just picked my switch back up this year for the first time since 2020 and have been loving your channel for breaking me out of my ACNH comfort zone. favorites i played this year - Wylde Flowers, Bugsnax, and BOTW (even though i keep having to start over because i forget where i left off lol) would love a video on how you remember/ keep track of the controls for everything you play? I don’t get a lot of play time due to my schedule so I lose track easily
I am so pleased to see you place TOTK at #1! You didn't talk about it much after release. Both BOTW and TOTK are such massive, immersive experiences! I'm a pretty new gamer -I've your channel! I still have so many games you've recommended that I need to try - including most in this list.
My Top 3 Switch games this year are Tears of the Kingdom, Dreamlight Valley, and Fashion Dreamer. TotK is an incredible game and I would recommend it to anyone. Technically, DDV released last year but they’ve made many improvements to the Switch performance and I just keep coming back to it. FD is a bit expensive for the simple gameplay but I love that I can watch a movie or show while playing. It’s fun to collect clothes and create outfits for unique characters and other players.
My top favorite games I played this year are: 3. Super Mario Bros. Wonder. It had such a simple but fun premise with the wonder flowers making it so you never knew what to expect next. Also all the extra musical jingles and aspects were a fun addition like the Pro Controller actually making the sound of the music note blocks. 2. Fashion Dreamer. Have been waiting for a game like this for switch and I loved it. My only real gripe is I wish it had a story mode though aside from that I love to just dress up and see what other sorts of outfits people make. 1. Persona 3 Portable. Technically didn’t come out in 2023 but this was my first time playing any Persona game and I absolutely loved it. The story, combat, and character are all so charming. Still gotta do the final boss though I know once I’m done with it I’m jumping right into Persona 4 Golden.
A few days ago I bought Sea of Stars and I'm in love with that game. When I decide to take a break from the game to work or do housework, I start thinking about when I will play it again. It's got me trapped I need help haha
Wylde Flowers is definitely still my top game of the year but, I enjoy all you've listed here too - though several are still waiting on my wishlist sadly lol
If Dave the Diver made you curious about roguelikes, I highly recommend checking out Hades!! To be honest I didn't think I'd like that game at all. I'd never played a roguelike, the aesthetic seemed so dark, I thought it would only be metal music or really heavy rock... I was very wrong, and it became one of my top favorite games ever. I've heard it's helped many other newcomers to the roguelike genre discover they enjoy roguelikes. It's also cozier than you'd expect, between having an amazing story/writing/characters and also difficulty options. I enjoy pushing myself a bit in games, but it does let you make it easier if you prefer, or even harder, if that's your thing. (I love when games let you adjust the difficulty to whatever works for you!) In addition to difficulty options, it really doesn't matter if you progress slowly or quickly, and with each failed run, you still can unlock new abilities and boosts that will help with future runs. It's also on sale on the switch pretty often, and I think it runs pretty smoothly.
omg i'm a huge octopath traveler 2 enjoyer, the game - the stories, the visuals, the OST(!!!) - definitely shouldve gotten much more hype!!! so glad you included it in this list ♥
My favourite game of the years by a far margin is Tears of the Kingdom as well! The sheer massive joy in anticipation and waiting for the game needs a mention of its own but the game itself brought me so many hours and hours of joy too. The thingsss you can do in this game are just so stunning and for someone like me, who's more into exploring the worlds than fighting, this was absolutely terrific and I've lost count of the amount of times I've just enjoyed yet another incredible sunset scenery while flying over Hyrule on the light dragon. I still go back to it many times a week and will continue to do so for a long time. BOTW will always hold the most special place in my heart no other game will be able to steal or win over simply because of, among other things, all the time I found refuge in it when the world was getting overwhelming and I could lose myself in the immense world of Hyrule. The runner up game for me is Wylde Flowers which I started upon your recommendation and goodness, I love it to bits. It's so cozy and chill and low stakes and EXACTLY what I love to do to disconnect and immerse myself in the world and the tasks. I'm fairly new to the game still and am excited for all that's still waiting to happen. Thank you for a wonderful year of content, videos and recommendations! Your channel is a happy place for me ❤️
Interesting list!I've been playing Dave the Diver recently and the game is a GEM!Dredge is already on my wishlist and i'm going to add Octopath Traveler 2 and Super Mario Maker 2
I got my Switch on a whim in January. The only video games I played before that was mario party on the Wii. So everything was new to me this year and went deep down the rabbit hole. I found ACNH first. Had never heard of it 😂 That’s when I learned there was a thing called cozy games and found your channel. Because of you, I’ve played over 30 games this year! 😮 Obviously I have not finished most of them. But ACNH, DDV, Stardew, Wylde Flowers, Fae Farm, and Mario Wonder clocked the most hours. Just diving into Palia, Hogwarts Legacy, and Roots of Pacha. There simply just isn’t enough time to get through them all being 6 years behind!
😂😂😂😂 are you me? Yesterday I bought Hogwarts Legacy and Roots of Pacha and I also downloaded Palia. I also bought my universe pet clinic, dolphin spirit ocean mission and Abzu
1. The Witch of Fern Island 2. Wylde Flowers 3.Finding Hannah I also loved DDV for the first 30 hours, Coral Island is a gem to play, and I am so happy for Palia. Had a lot of fun with my second Island of ACNH and Strange Horticulture has a wonderful atmosphere and gameplay if you like plants and rain and cats. Regret buying Fae Farm. Thank you for all the fun videos this year! I love your channel.
I discovered your channel this year. Granted mooonths ago. But still this year. And I actually fell in love with Wylde Flowers thanks to you. My Nintendo recap mail showed me that it was my nr 2 most played game. (nr 1 was tears of the kingdom. But the difference was only 3 h between 1st spot and 2nd) So yea. This would be my no 1 cozy game, and I've already recommended it to everybody I know who owns a switch 😂. So thanks for making so nice contend and making my days better 😊 hope you'll have a great and cozy holiday season
@@teslagoth9401 Yea, I’m glad it was a faithful remake, but I would love more. The director of Super Mario RPG is on board to make a sequel. I would need that in my life.
TOTK was definitely top of my list, but I also greatly enjoyed Pikmin 4 and Master Detective Archives: Raincode. The story was so interesting and exciting! I hope they come out with more games, because I love a good murder mystery game.
i lovedddd tears of the kingdom this year. then mario wonder and fashion dreamer. it definitely has a lot of flaws, but despite the drawbacks i've had a lot of fun with it. (outside of the switch, baldur's gate 3 is a phenomenal game, and my favorite of the year.)
Okay, you sold me on the Cosmic Sisterhood! I didn't know that was what that game was about, but now... Very interesting! Anywho, I didn't play a whole lot this year, but for me the top 3 are... This is a cheat game as I didn't play it until this year, but Cult of the Lamb. I know this game had issues at launch, and it still hiccups a bit. But my goodness, I fell in love so fast! My only real concern was knowing time moved in the cult while you are away, but the DLC added the ability to freeze time during a crusade. Honestly that's a great compromise because it doesn't stop time going to other places. The music is incredible, the gameplay is addictive and there is more game coming out soon! For second place... Mario Bros Wonder. For all the reasons you said! It's a wonderful game that had me smiling the whole time! All the laughter and clapping too for me. I was so excited talking about this game to someone that I convinced them to get it! Also I would love to see your reaction to the singing piranha plants! First place is very biased on my part. But... Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles. This may not be the best but for me, this is a long awaited dream come true. These games didn't come stateside a long time ago. When I saw the trailers, I literally started to cry. To me, these games are magical and I am so glad people can finally experience these games!
Yes octopath traveler!! I just picked it up and it's amazing 😍😍 Still have to finish tears of the kingdom! But I don't want it to end so I just play it really slow and doing all the side quests haha
Octopath Traveler 2 is my NUMBER 1. It was incredible and I was genuinely depressed when it was over. I was so attached to the characters and the story, the soundtrack and everything about that game got me. Hogwarts Legacy was going to be my first but it’s an almost tie. Hogwarts legacy was the most fun I’ve had in a game in years. I bought it for PC, PS5 and Switch. switch graphics aren’t great but it doesn’t effect gameplay at all. I play handheld so I played it way more often in switch than any other way and I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on it because they only have switch- it’s worth playing no matter the platform. My 3rd is Harvestella. I know not everyone loved it, but I adored it. I don’t like straight farming sims I find them boring. But Harvestella was a great way to incorporate chill cozy activities into an action rpg. Atelier Ryza 3 was amazing and best of the series. Dave the Diver, Mario Wonder, My Time at Sandrock, Pokémon S/V dlc, Sea of Stars, Tear of the Kingdom, Wylde Flowers…. There was SO many amazing games this year for Switch and for PC/PS5/Xbox. This was an excellent year for gaming if I’m being honest. There’s more than I didn’t get to play as much as I would’ve liked but Hogwarts and Octopath Traveler 2 and TotK are all just top tier gaming. They’re all amazing. If you guys get a chance please please please check out Octopath Traveler 2.
My most played games according to Nintendo: Sky Children of light, Zelda, and Cult of the Lamb. But my top 3 would probably be: Cult of the Lamb, Dave the Diver and Zelda. With Pokémon Snap getting an honorable mention. Random, I know. Thanks to you, I’m obsessed with Dave the Diver right now! 😂
You finally convinced me to buy dave the diver and I like it a lot. I never thought something like this would be for me, but as you wonˋt stop recommending it, I finally gave it a try and now I am thankful for this step out of my comfort zone as I am really enjoying it
I just made a little Christmas game haul!! I got A little to the left, roots of pacha, littlewood, and Harvest Moon: the winds of anthos! I’m all cosy and ready to play! 🙌🏻 enjoy your Christmases everyone!!👏🏻
I occasionally watch your videos not just for the games’ reviews but I find your voice somewhat soothing and sort of good vibes. Anyway Merry Christmas and happy holiday 😊
My favourite 2023 games are Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4 and Fire Emblem Engage. I love their game play and they are unique to me. My longest game play is possibly Fae Farm, 72 hours and still at 3rd dungeon. Look forward to dive in more superb RPG/tactical games in year 2024. I follow your YT channel since Sep, I love your narrative and detailed point of view over Switch games. Keep up the great work and have a lovely holiday.
Im not really qualified to name my top games of the year because i haven't been able to buy many. But from what i have been able to play, Blanc while short is a wonderful experience when played with a friend, Dordogne too, ot was right our ally. Plus sky children of the light was something i found through you a last year, but it continues to deliver new content and is a great game to dip in and out of. Some of these are deff on my list for 2024 tho!
1.) Stardew Valley 2.) Life is Strange 3.) Mario Kart (i’ve only had my switch for almost a year but not quite and still need to play the Legend of Zelda games)
1. Fae Farm, 2. Dave the Diver… I don’t have a 2023 3rd place because I’m still over here playing Slime Rancher and Mario Kart from previous years 😂 I’ll try to keep more updated in 2024. Happy New Year everyone 🎉
I swear I played so much on Switch this year, even getting my Steam Deck like halfway through the year (still cursing that OLED announcement 😂). I do play like DDV on my Steam Deck more now though. My top 10, but no particular order for me, as I just can't: • Tears of the Kingdom • Pikmin 4 • Fae Farm • Spiritfarer • Dreamlight Valley • Little Goody Two Shoes • Sea of Stars • Mario Wonder • Spiritfarer • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (That last one will never fail to make me laugh 😅) So also may not have all come out this year, but close enough and I discovered and played them this year 😊
I tried Dave the Diver and liked it, but catching fish is hard! My favorite part is serving food. My top games this year included Pikmin 4, Fae Farm, and and TOTK.
My Top 10 Nintendo Switch Games: 1. Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection 2. Darkwood 3. Little Nightmares 2 4. Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection 5. DOOM 3 BFG Edition 6. The Legends Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom 7. The Legends Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 8. Bioshock: The Collection 9. Outlast: Bundle Of Terror 10. Amnesia: The Collection
I need to go back and try Sea of Stars again. I got stuck on the battle that gets you out of the academy and didn't come back to it. Looking at my list of games, I'm still playing quite a few that were released in previous years and finding my favorites that are new to me are from the past, but I am still going to mention them! 1 - Signs of the Sojourner 2 - Wytchwood 3 - Rakuen Deluxe Edition
Pikmin 4 was game of the year for me. It was my first ever Pikmin game and it has been an incredible experience. Even though I’m stuck on the game. I can’t beat the dandori challenge in heroes hideaway with the goal of 200. Like out of nowhere they just ramped up the difficulty 😂😂😂
I only played 2 new ones that released this year. The rest I may have found this year, but they are old. My number one, if I can include old that I found would be Stardew. I was so late.😂🙈 2 would be Fae Farm, and 3 would be Palia, since DDLV came out last year…..
Hello everyone! I'm planning to purchase a NSW Oled next year. Do you have game recommendations for someone who will just play Switch for the first time? Thaaanks in advance. (:
The combat style of sea of stars just seems very outputting when I watch it. I keep looking for a new switch game, but other than TOTK, nothing in your top 5 appeals to me. Maybe I would feel different if I actually played them, but that’s a lot of money and I have bought a lot of games I didn’t love this year.
Haven't played the second StarcOcean on the switch yet. Played it first on the psp! Really want too give it another go now! Here's hoping for a Star Ocean 3 port (that SO was great and would be so much fun to play again)
Top 3: 1. Xenoblade 3 + future redeemed dlc 2. Atelier ryza 1 (I liked it better than Ryza 3, but 2 is still my favorite!) 3. Luigi’s mansion 3 Completed 11 games Played 17 games Dropped SoS:Doraemon
Valid number 1 choice - I got 400 hours out of ToTK and loved every minute of it. Barely remember BOTW at this point which probably means it’s time for a replay!
My top 3: Zelda TOTK, Pikmin 4, Dave the Diver. Honourable mentions: Dredge, Tinykin, Wylde Flowers, Unpacking, Subnautica Below Zero (some of them didn’t come out this year but I loved ❤)
@@AdmiralPeach I’m thinking of picking it up. It’s currently 20% off at $23.99 on the Australian Eshop. But I have a switch lite and have seen complaints about the font size in the game
1: Fae farm❤ 2: Animal crossing 3: suika Game. En good pizza great pizza, and cattails. So many good games. Mariokart, pikmin, miitopia, diablo not to forget the amazing free game F-Zero 99. 😊❤

My top 3 were Spiritfarer, Dreamlight Valley and Stardew Valley - no surprise there ❤
Off topic but I absolutely love the glitter on your eye 😊what product did you use ?🤩
I occasionally watch your videos not just for the games’ reviews but I find your voice somewhat soothing and sort of good vibes. Anyway Merry Christmas and happy holiday 😊
Hello. Would it be possible to know wish games is the one you displayed right before you began to talk about Drege?
Thanks in advance.
Spiritfarer, Cozy Grove & Pikmin ❤
1: Spiritfarer
2: Kirby and the Forgotten Land
3: Mario Wonder
My favourite 2023 games are Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4 and Fire Emblem Engage. I love their game play and they are unique to me.
My longest game play is possibly Fae Farm, 72 hours and still at 3rd dungeon.
Look forward to dive in more superb RPG/tactical games in year 2024.
I follow your YT channel since Sep, I love your narrative and detailed point of view over Switch games. Keep up the great work and have a lovely holiday.
Always happy to see Dredge make a year end list.
My top 3 games this year are Fae Farm(switch), Roots of Pacha (switch) and Moonstone Island (pc) 😊
1.) Stardew Valley
2.) Life is Strange
3.) Mario Kart
(i’ve only had my switch for almost a year but not quite and still need to play the Legend of Zelda games)
My top 10, but no particular order for me, as I just can't:
• Tears of the Kingdom
• Pikmin 4
• Fae Farm
• Spiritfarer
• Dreamlight Valley
• Little Goody Two Shoes
• Sea of Stars
• Mario Wonder
• Spiritfarer
• Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
(That last one will never fail to make me laugh 😅)
So also may not have all come out this year, but close enough and I discovered and played them this year 😊
I tried Dave the Diver and liked it, but catching fish is hard! My favorite part is serving food. My top games this year included Pikmin 4, Fae Farm, and and TOTK.
My top 5:
1. Zelda
2. Mario RPG
3. Pikmin 4
4. Mario Wonder
5. Metroid Prime
when dave the diver came to the switch I was STOKED it’s such a great game
Wylde Flowers, Stardew and Palia
Pokemon Violet , Mario Wonder , Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Could you try the game outer wilds? I really enjoy your top games lists and i am curious what you think about outer wilds.
My Top 10 Nintendo Switch Games:

1. Tears of the Kingdom
2. Palia
3. Super Mario RPG
4. Fae Farm
5. Suika Game
I played 40 hours of Octopath Traveler 2 and just couldn't finish it. It became SO boring to me.
Great list! Metroid Prime/palia theaterythym final bar, digimon world: next order/ gargoyles
I need to go back and try Sea of Stars again. I got stuck on the battle that gets you out of the academy and didn't come back to it. Looking at my list of games, I'm still playing quite a few that were released in previous years and finding my favorites that are new to me are from the past, but I am still going to mention them!
1 - Signs of the Sojourner
2 - Wytchwood
3 - Rakuen Deluxe Edition
Pikmin 4 was game of the year for me. It was my first ever Pikmin game and it has been an incredible experience. Even though I’m stuck on the game. I can’t beat the dandori challenge in heroes hideaway with the goal of 200. Like out of nowhere they just ramped up the difficulty 😂😂😂
3 fav games I played this year were Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Wonder, and Mario RPG!
I only played 2 new ones that released this year. The rest I may have found this year, but they are old. My number one, if I can include old that I found would be Stardew. I was so late.😂🙈 2 would be Fae Farm, and 3 would be Palia, since DDLV came out last year…..
nah DDV counts I think as it was early access before!
@@Eeowna then I played 3 new games! Cool! 😂😍❤️
Love fae farm been addicted to Palia it’s so so fun 🤩
cozy games list is coming your way!!
I really hope Octopath 2 is under the tree for me this year.
Have you played A Highland Song yet? I really want to know your thoughts!!!!
Realizing that the only games I played this year was cozy grove, Disney dreamlight valley and Link’s awakening. Ddlv being the one I played the most.
1. Cozy Grove
2. Breath of the Wild
3. Cult of the Lamb
Disney Dreamlight Valley, Fae Farm, and Cozy Grove are my top 3 for 2023
Hello everyone!
I haven't played any new games because I'm trying to go through my backlog, send help 😭😂
Also you must be so happy that Dave the diver came out with Dredge dlc 😂
Haven't played the second StarcOcean on the switch yet. Played it first on the psp! Really want too give it another go now! Here's hoping for a Star Ocean 3 port (that SO was great and would be so much fun to play again)
I hated the battle mechanics on octopath 1 demo so didn't pick it up, I'll give 2 a go I think.
1. Tears of the Kingdom
2.Pikmin 4
3.Bayonetta Origins
🎮
Top 3:
1. Xenoblade 3 + future redeemed dlc
2. Atelier ryza 1 (I liked it better than Ryza 3, but 2 is still my favorite!)
3. Luigi’s mansion 3
Completed 11 games
Played 17 games
Dropped SoS:Doraemon
No 1- spirit farer 1000%
No 2- little misfortune
No 3- bear and breakfast (I know it's still buggy but I love it ❤)
You absolutely right octopath traveler 2 is soooo underrated!!!
These are probably unsurprising as they’re the three biggest Nintendo releases this year:
1. TOTK
2. Pikmin 4
3. Mario Wonder
I love pikmin but I had my first few not make it back from the mission and I wanted to cry so I need a break from it lol
Fae farm, Pikmin 4 and Disney dreamlight valley i think. But coffe talk and Kirby too. ❤️
Valid number 1 choice - I got 400 hours out of ToTK and loved every minute of it. Barely remember BOTW at this point which probably means it’s time for a replay!
Top 3 disney dreamlightvalley dredge & wylde flowers. Palia on pc is my most played game & runs great on the switch
My top 3: Zelda TOTK, Pikmin 4, Dave the Diver.
Honourable mentions: Dredge, Tinykin, Wylde Flowers, Unpacking, Subnautica Below Zero (some of them didn’t come out this year but I loved ❤)
How does Dave the diver run on switch?
@@RachelXKnight666 Apart from some long loading times, it runs really well ☺️
@@AdmiralPeach I’m thinking of picking it up. It’s currently 20% off at $23.99 on the Australian Eshop. But I have a switch lite and have seen complaints about the font size in the game
1. TOTK, 2. Fire Emblem Engage, 3. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC - Future Connected
My topp 3
3. Moonlighter
2. Graveyard keeper
1. Danganronpa and ACNH
Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe are easily in my Top 3 of 2023, without question. ❤
1st TotK, 2nd wylde flowers and 3rd DDM probably (not sure on my 3rd as it's new to me)
1: Fae farm❤
2: Animal crossing
3: suika Game. En good pizza great pizza, and cattails. So many good games. Mariokart, pikmin, miitopia, diablo not to forget the amazing free game F-Zero 99. 😊❤
I loved pikmin!!!! Hoping for downloadable content!!!
❤Absolutely TOTK and MarioWonder are the best But wow thanks for such a detailed information about that wonderful games ❤
TOTK, Dave the Diver, Mario Wonder ❤
Great picks
My top 3 Switch Games are Wylde Flowers, Spiritfarer and the Wild at Heart ❤
Played Star Ocean 2 way back when first came out was a fun game.
Sea of stars is so underrated
Dredge was my favorite of the year, though there are still some on this list that I’m saving up to buy and play. The new dredge DLC is great too!
