    Another amazing and genuine video! I can tell you that you and Melody have given life to my life. I was told I have about three years left. I wanted to do something but it was unrealistic to be able to work outside of home on a consistent enough basis to maintain a “real” job because I have times where I can’t get out of bed for a couple of days. Needless to say this was depressing and I could not contribute until I saw your video. I’m nowhere close to where you are but I do have a huge stockpile for sales and started a few months back. I love my chachingking shirt and grab it on the days I say I’m getting down to it today. It will be a little slow going right now with Christmas but afterwards….. I may need another Chachingking shirt or two lol. Ty again!

      A diagnosis like that changes everything. There's no getting around that. But finding a way to contribute is, in my opinion, as important as any medicine that you can take. Medicine fights for you. Contributing allows you to fight for yourself. I'm proud of you for finding a way.

    Great advice! I started selling my stuff on eBay in the middle of April 2023 and made little over 1000 dollars with 57 items still listed to sell . It takes a lot of Time and effort to sell on EBay, but if you put time and effort it can be done. I am adding more Stuff everyday to build my store bigger so I can quit my job someday. I actually have fun doing this. 😊

    What Scot says starting at the 5:29 mark is so very very true. In fact, this is probably a good test to find out who is truly on your side and who is not. I have a saying: "A true friend is someone who cares more about the friend than the friendship." In other words, they would rather lose the friendship than see any harm come to the friend. They put the friend first, and that is someone you know that you can count on and who is on your side. If someone comes up with potential pitfalls, by all means listen to them. But if that is all they come up with, don't. And reevaluate if they are really on your side.

      Having a reliable second income coming in from eBay allowed us to take genuine control of our finances. Debt is a massive weight to bear. Here's the thing about debt, as soon as you stop accumulating it, things begin to improve. It isn't that things only get better when you're out of debt. There's a very positive mind shift once the debt is no longer climbing.

My .02 if you have absolutely nothing & I mean nothing to sell at home, you can start with about $30 & go to a place with by the pound items about to be discarded. • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  11 місяців тому

      What I've done over the years is gradually increase my average sale price. I study a LOT. So, if I go into a Goodwill, I'm looking for items that get closer to that $50 sale price. And I find them often enough that I don't bother with $15 stuff. But it definitely didn't start that way. I study some every day. Let's say you like to sell purses. I would search "purse" on eBay. Then, I'm going to filter by SOLD. Then, I'm going to filter by NEAREST. That way, I can see what purses other sellers near me have found to sell. The more I study, the more competitive I become.

    I have a request, please. Could you do an instructional video on filling out the registration to sell on Whatnot? I have a warehouse full of vintage magazines I would like to get rid of pretty fast, without giving them away. Whatnot seems to be the best platform for things like that. I could really use some help getting on. I like the way you teach and believe I could follow along better with you. Please think about it. Thank you!

      I haven't ever used WhatNot. If I decide to use the platform, I'll see if I can put something together. It doesn't really fit with our current business model. Melody and I do buy in bulk a lot of times. BUT, we give away all of our excess inventory to local sellers who are just getting started. So, selling it isn't something we are doing right now.

    What would it take? Hmmm... Well, for starters, I would like to make my storage costs revenue neutral, so $500 per month (at present...I'll be moving some stuff to a smaller location once I figure out how much space I REALLY need). I have a whole 900 square feet of my house full of my "treasures", most of which I could part with as I no longer feel I need to keep them. The $15 per item starting point is a good one. I have a lot of items worth more than that that I just dug out of one of many boxes here but for simplicities sake, $15 or $20 is a great starter. Time to put on my old eBay hat that I got more than 20 years ago and get to selling stuff again. But should I use my old account or else start a new one as a store? Your recommendation? • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  Рік тому +1

      It depends on the value of the item. A very, very expensive item wouldn't need the same percentage to be worth while as a cheap item. If the item's worth $50 total, I probably wouldn't want to pay more than $12-15. So, about 4 times the money. But if it were worth $500? I could pay $250-300 and still come out good.

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  9 місяців тому

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  Рік тому

      It takes a while to build up your ebay store. But, for me, having a UA-cam channel has really hurt my ebay store. I sell VERY little to viewers. I literally make 1 or 2 sales a month to viewers and those are usually stickers. I have those priced to break even. In fact, I lose a few cents a sale. So, an "audience" doesn't have any positive impact on my ebay. Totally the opposite. You do not need an audience to be successful on ebay AT ALL.

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  Рік тому

      If you're brand new, they limit how many items you can list, and the total value, just until they know you're not a scammer. If you're making sales, shipping on time, and getting good feedback, you can usually get your limits raised after 30 days or so. The 10 that you're seeing is only right at the very beginning when eBay doesn't know you.

      I'm not sure I can answer that for you. A smaller profit will allow you to sell more of them. A bigger margin, and they may sit a while. List a few at a time. Experiment and see what the highest price is that you can sell them at at a rate you're happy with.
