Well yes and no. Most gaming monitors nowadays have variable refresh rate (AMD FreeSync and Nvidia Gsync). It is a technology that syncs the frames with your monitors refresh rate. Here’s the thing, if you want to make use of that you have to be in between a certain range of fps. VRR will never go above your monitors refresh rate. Therefore I do not recommend settings your FPS to uncapped, unless you want faster screen rendering. Both have pros and cons :)

I am bad example of this, can't get my head to focus in damn c1 lobby but in casual freestyling on c2-c3 and gc dudes. I suck at ground now but my aerial mechanics got really good (at least compared to what they used to be).
utilizing your big jump from holding it for an extra 200ms is honestly huge for aerial plays. You get much more momentum when coming off the wall and you dont need to use nearly as much boost, also makes a world of a difference in fast aerials. If you're reading this, drill your fast aerials but make sure you use the big jump before using your second it really comes in handy when you get up in mid champ. You're able to get really hard hits on the ball with much less boost than if you were to just double jump, you will beat your opponents to the ball by miles and be able to beat them to boost, they won't expect it. Cheers :D
side flip flick is used not only to move the directional path of the ball, but also to stay on path with your car that will follow the direction of the ball/flick
For me personally having air roll and powerslide binded together makes wave dashing a lot more difficult but I'm already so used to that layout and changing it drastically makes my games harder
I found wavedashing to be one of the easiest mechanics to learn. I have DAR and powerslide both on L1, but never use it for wavedashing - don't rly need air roll on forward/backward wavedashes, and I use either AR left or right for sideways dashes.

For eg: for wave dashing right, what you do is jump > air roll left a little before you land > flip/barrel roll right as your left wheels touch the ground. Invert this for dashing left.
all im doing is capitilazing on mistakes from ghe opponents :D thats how i nearly got to c2 in 2s and diamond in 1s... but im after that ppl dont do enough mistakes, or not as severe mistakes as lower players :D thats why im not ranking up higher :D

I've put I think roughly 1k hours in the game and I still can't air dribble, can't use airroll confidently at all apart from recoveries, and I usually miss hard aerials because I don't know how I'm turning my car during aerials. Luckily for me I think I understood the basics and I am starting to feel confident on the ground with my powerslide cuts and dribbles. I am simply still not as good as I wish I was, and it pains me a lil bit :(
@@StahliCell dont worry about the fails, or the blackout moments when training advanced aerial mechanics or air roll. these moments is what makes you learn. keep practicing with your mechanics until you get it right. once you get that first really clean one start buildin up tjhe muscle memory. - gc2
A major problem I’ve been seeing that could use a tip video… People jumping too high, then having to corse correct down. Basically tips for hitting the ball underneath instead of on the face or top.
Practice, practice, practice. Strength and accuracy training pack is great for shooting. Focus on timing the bounce, aim for the bottom half of the ball when you jump and flip. -c3 player

For everyone who hasn't used powersilde and airroll for same button do not. UNLESS ur new but if ur high diamond/champ i do not recommend if its already muscle memory to have diff buttons for both

@@MSN539 exactly gc is achievable in decent time by doing everything right. Getting higher towards ssl is doing everything right, but better. So you need lots of playtime and fine tune your skills. Preferably youre big brained too. There's a reason not everyone is ssl

The only arguments that can be made for universal air roll is that you can make smaller adjustments. While that is helpful, directional air roll if mastered is much more diverse and controllable. You must have one directional at least. The other air roll depends on you.
Do you keep free air roll bonded at a higher level? I’m trying to learn both directional air rolls right now and I don’t know if I should keep free air roll binded.

I think that learning to watch the play and the opponents with your camera joystick effectively is the hardest mechanic to learn in Rocket League.

My Tip: Go crazy in casual. That’s what it’s there for… push your limits there but play smart in comp.
I completely agree, use it as a mechanical playground and see what you can execute with an opponent on the field but without the pressure of comp

You’re supposed to have regular air roll and powerslide bound to the same button, not directional air roll.
really? i find it way easier since you never really have to yaw while wavedashing, but you need to air roll a lot

I did the same thing. Then at that point you have to work on mechanics and speed. Now I’m high GC1/GC2 a year later
