(and yes I'm aware these might have other names/creators) What was your favorite mechanic?
@@ayakamii This "Ret flick" was called the chaupt pop way back, when Chaupt72(?) was a content creator, but it stopped being used pretty quickly as more people played RL without hearing of the guy (understandably).
The "Yoshi Flick" is incredibly common in GC Rumble and upwards, and has been for some time - usually it's used without releasing the ball to avoid opponents, but if you're good you can time it right to get the ball to release at the desired time.
The point of this spike flick is to flip shortly before the spikes are about to run out. If timed perfectly, it gives the ball more momentum, making it more difficult for goalie to defend against.
Ever since I was 4 or 5 I have become obsessed with Polar Bears. Now after 16 years later its not an obsession anymore but Polar Bears are still my favourites and I love them over any other animal :D
Wooden's bar dash is close to a perfect name but I would call it a post dash since its on the corner post. In my mind a "Bar Dash" would be if someone could figure out how to do across the transition from the top of the inside of the net (like your going for a squishy save) around the crossBAR and up the wall. Which could be a bail out option in the case where a player loops through the back of the net setting up for a squishy save but then realizes that they need to get to backboard instead.
Mechanics I invented: (i think so anyways) *FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED* 1. Flip Takeoff: Basically a front flip but you pull back at the end so that you go 315 degrees, which puts you at a 45 degree angle between up and forwards, the same as tilting your car back. the advantage of this to a regular take off is that you get the front flip at the start for extra speed. the fast aerial version of this is where you jump and then do the mechanic. i think it could work with a speed flip as well if you do a pogo halfway through the speedflip, but ill never pull it off 2. Bonnet Slide: Basically a musty flick movement but you do the flip later, so that the front of your car slides on the ground, it's useful for faking a flick and also gives you an unpredictable burst of speed after the bonnet of your car stops touching the ground, since the bonnet of your car has almost no friction so you just glide over the ground and suddenly go fast. 3. Wavepinch: Diagonal Wavedash where you use the corner of your car to pinch the ball into the ground or even wall to spice it up. 4. Fling: Could actually be an entire range of mechanics, it is doing a flick motion without the actual flip, so that it has less power and it goes a different trajectory to what the goalie might expect.
1 and 3 work surprisingly well, on kickoffs mechanic 1 ends up delaying it and often gives you a flip reset to wavedash after the kickoff. mechanic 3 is actually really good on the wall for beating opponents and I often pinched it into their backboard to get a nice double tap setup, good job
I think i came up with something similar to wooden's backwards kuxir. I call it the pre-flip pinch. It's exactly what it's called. A kuxir but you flip at the right time so you hit the ball with the back of your car and pinch it.
The Dozer was perfected by an up and coming pro named Amustingcow. His second finisher includes the mechanic The Musting Jump which is only one among several god tier mechanics
Sledge dash is the best name. Its what you do. You slam like a sledgehammer into the ground to boost. It works intended since you need to be above ground to spawn in any game or you fall thru map
Idea: go upside down right infront of the goal ask a teammate to go ontop of ur car and then just intiate passenger plane mode and carry him to the goal
“The Ret Flick” is a mechanic that Fairy Peak mastered and started using in ones a few years ago. He could do it on command against the best ones players in the world, not just by accident. 😂
I actually tried making one called “shovel flick” you jump face your car down and flick the ball up making it high up I would usually use it if someone fakes kick off. If you were the miss u would just push the ball and it reminded me of a shovel this should be a mechanic.
no turbo did a turbo flick, he completely failed his flick, this "ret flick" is more of an "afterflick," which is a much more straight-to-the-point name
@@7ranscendenceRL even so, pros and you tubers have been calling that afterflick mechanic a turbo flick. And even before Turbo popularized it by hilariously failing his flick and scoring in an RLCS match, FairyPeak had already intentionally mastered the mechanic in a 1v1 tournament almost a year prior to Turbo’s goal in RLCS.
I have one in sideswipe or normal rl it’s called the trampoline it’s where you turn your car around then kinda absorb the impact on you car and flick it back up it for air dribbling
I don't know if it's quick enough to be worth it, but I often recover by doing a backwards wavedash into a half flip instead of just the half flip. Not every recovery, but when it makes sense to. I've never seen anyone else doing this so I assume it's inefficient, but it sure gets you going supersonic quick!
I am a diomond and I have a mechanic. I'll just call it the goal dash, the name explains itself, you just drive directly in the goal and keep flipping forward as you go through the back of the goal to tge top. You will quickly launch out of the goal, it's a good way to recover if you suddenly find yourself in the other teams goal.
All the memes aside - i (as probably most others as well) didnt know that the Bug-Dash/Spawn-Dash was even a possibility. Cant wait to see the speedflip kickoffs change in the future.
For the last year me and my friends use to call the « bulldoze » the « 21 shot » because one of our friends used to always score like that (he was in gold) and his name had 21 in it and we would always laugh when he scored like that and say « nice 21 shot bro »
Ive used the spawn dash in training because it spawns u in the air a little bit higher than in game but never knew you that other people didn't know that or off demos
I’ve got the best mechanic, it’s called the three wheel drift, you have to equip the car named armadillo and since it has three wheel and not two you can then pull of the new move called the three wheel drift
It was a lot of fun. You never know what it's going to turn out to be. You can only put out the call and wait for submissions. The community came through, and when you include some meme mechanics it turned into a decent list.
I’m not very good myself, but I’m pretty sure people at mid champ and above can recognize the mustyflip kick off and adjust to get a good 50/50 to kill the ball. I’m only a c3/low gc1 myself and I can react to that kick off almost every time someone tries it on me.
The bulldoze was stolen from Jamesbot in mustys video where he had silvers 1v1 and let the pro casters cast the games. It's actually called "the dozer", so that one deserves credit elsewhere.
Whenever you score the ball on your own goal you're called a traitor, right? Well how about the "double agent"? You shoot the ball at your own goal then clear it to the opponent's side of the field while they're unsuspecting. You can also possibly score an across-the-field goal doing this
I made a mechanic called spring flick. Basically you start dibbling. Then dribble in the air while airolling. But only spin around once for good measure. You have to airoll for it to be a SPRING. Lastly front flip the ball to hit into your opponents goal.
I sadly didn't submit but I have found a useful mechanic in gold 2: the backwards flick (idk if this mechanic exists yet but whatevs). When the ball is right in front of you in the air, jump, point your nose straight up, Air roll 180° so the wheels are directly facing away from the ball and once you get close enough to it, do a front flip. This will make the back of the car push the ball forward + upward and maybe make you score. Now this is useful since the wheels hit the ball less powerful than the top of the car and thus this flick allows you to get more power on it.
I have a mechanic, don't know if it's new, it's a cool kickoff that gets to your corner, or to the middle, you boost, then halfway to the ball, you do a small jump, turn to left with air roll for left spawn and, right if right spawn, and either one with mid spawn, then when you face the ball, flip towards the ball
The furnas kickoff is something i do on my own not like him but i just boost tilt my car forwards and last moment flick 7/10 8/10 are good kickoffs sometimes i screw up

I think it was in the MannfieldNight 5K or maybe in LOR Games or Saltmine, but he was going for these types of flicks on the regular. I imagine it's very situational, and you are really going all in on it.
That Nox kickoff something-something was actuallay a strategy me and my friends used in heatseeker. We did a speedflick on kickoff and that launched the ball diagonally upwards (behind us) allowing us to do amazing air redirects
I’ve been calling “the bulldoze” “running the dog” this whole time. There’s even a variation called “walking the dog” where you don’t boost at all. Truly great minds think alike.
in rocket league sideswipe i can roof picnh ( groudn pinch on roof ) and it goes it and i hti it from my side BUT…. its rlly hard u have to frontflip and its takes alot fo practise but the power is so fast takes around 2 - 5 seconds to get in
That backwards pinch is something I've been working to perfect for a while without knowing anyone else has been doing it too. I would've called it the Slime Pinch I'm ashamed of myself.
Ah dang that furnace kick off thing with the musty I’ve been doing forever when I mess around in casual, it actually does work pretty well if you can time it right you can also lean back and backflip when your half way and if timed right you’ll throw yourself right at the bottom center of the ball and hit it over the opponent, it’s really hard to get the timing right in that though and tends to work better on corner kick offs
I actually only play rumble, and I also discovered this “Yoshi flick” a while back and have used it to great effect, it’s so unpredictable and you get so much height out of it so quickly that it can’t be blocked if you time it right
I made a new kick off called the potato chips, you just do the normal kick of but just before you hit the ball you jump and air roll, making your opponent pinch off your car and back towards their goal/ directly sideways. For straight on kick offs you have to lean forwards as well but yeah. It’s named the potato chip because some people call potato chips wedges and you are wedging the ball in between you and your opponent
A couple months back, I was in mid ariel, when I thought of doing something. Didnt think it was gon work, I made it seem like I was going to air roll, stopped turning, and air rolled BACK the other way, scooping the ball with my wheel and making it arch into the goal. One of the coldest moves I've ever done. And I clipped it

I'm ashamed of myself.
I think “poll volt” is better then “yoshi flick” but he made it so he names it
There's a kickoff I always do which is similar to a furnace kickoff, but instead, you turtle then front flip which scoops the ball up
ive did it so much times its not called the yoshi flick its called the front flip
Can't forget the Mustard Flop, which is basically a way to get a free turtle/backwards goal
The "Furnas" is something I've done forever, I didn't know it was special.
bro said he made the 360 flick in the beginning im dead
the ssl spike rush strat was also something i use to use against my friends who were better than me, and i can confirm it works
A cool name for the backwards punch would be the rixuk(kuxir backwards) pinch
haha. that's kinda funny actually.
Maybe the seal flick could be a musty but backwards some how
Btw good video :D
Thank you!
I actually only play rumble, and I also discovered this “Yoshi flick” a while back and have used it to great effect, it’s so unpredictable and you get so much height out of it so quickly that it can’t be blocked if you time it right
Man I thought I made up my own kickoff but it seems like the furnas kickoff was a thing already. Rip 💀
I made a new kick off called the potato chips, you just do the normal kick of but just before you hit the ball you jump and air roll, making your opponent pinch off your car and back towards their goal/ directly sideways. For straight on kick offs you have to lean forwards as well but yeah. It’s named the potato chip because some people call potato chips wedges and you are wedging the ball in between you and your opponent
please make another video like that, it was so cool
working on one RIGHT NOW. out sometime next week!
becouse its gonna typically be used for demos, i think the demo dash would be a good name for the bug/spawn dash + it sounds clean
