Wow, the way the flick is explained, where your wheels should be, turning away, etc. is so good. This will help newer players quite a bit! Quality content, friend.
Champ 1 here. Low ranked people, don’t get discouraged by the flicks. I can opportunistically but not deliberately do the diagonal flick. Cannot do the 45 degree flick at all. The diagonal would be a more realistic intermediate flick. A beginner flick would be the simple front or side flip flick, both really useful in bypassing oncoming opponents even at the Champ level. But dribbling is a real hurdle for a lot of medium-ranked people even, and honestly, in bronze or silver you have more pressing concerns. Don’t sweat these skills down there.
a friend of mine who's gc and coaching me told me to work on fundamentals first and not to pressure myself into learning dribbling until about diamond rank, not necessarily ignoring it but things like powershots and aerials need to be at a very solid level of consistency before moving on
@@aylmao8723 Yeah, absolutely. Hitting the ball every time you go for it is more important than specialty stuff. Sometimes I try and make a perfect hit to guarantee a goal and whiff, but even a bad contact would have been better than missing. However, other than making the perfect hit, I can make a reasonably successful hit every time I go for it. Learning I could wait a full 1.5 seconds to flip rather than nearly immediately was a game changer. Before, my main focus on accuracy was how I rotated my car. Now, it's what direction I flip. While the KBM>Controller conversion didn't make much difference to my rank, more than 8 directional flipping has been a benefit.
im low plat and can 180 flick, remember that people learn different things at different times, and not everyone who does something you dont know is a smurf.
lol it is useful in the higher ranks but not for silver since they can barely ariel so u dont need to go for a high risk shot that will 100% go in where u can do a low risk shot that will still go in XD

The chip shot is so underrated mechanic. For Advanced controll i would also sugest trying to chip the ball continously at max speed, the closest to supersonic, the better. This not only improves your chip shots but gives you a better understanding and timing to be on the play always at supersonic speed
I'm diamond and I doubt beginners (bronze/silver) can do flick shots... I can only do a basic one and not even that consistently :P edit: i also never see anyone doing the intermediate flick.. im kinda low d1 btw.

Get those half flips down man. The sooner the better for those imo. The most critical part is the flip-cancel. After that you just have to air roll a little bit to land on your wheels.
@@DigitalJedi oh so its a flip cancel for an actual half flip? i just flipped my car halfway backwards and air roll. now i know that i need to flip cancel. fun

Flakes has a video where he is teaching bronzes to half flip and wave dash. Lol
Dorien Rose those are a lot easier than dribbling though. Definitely things I was doing in silver
