IDK if anyone already mentioned this but ghouls are supposed to have a melee skill, which is broken by allow tool. There is a patch on the workshop.

For some fun biotech integration, you can edit the genes of your starting ghoul. You can give it a bunch of skill negatives and use those points to give it melee bonuses, incoming damage reduction, speed buffs.
You can make the ghoul a true zippy boy that mauls anything.

Crawler meets some weird hooded figures, lives with them for a while, joins their cult, and like a week later decides to leave and refused to elaborate. Wanders into your camp asking for refuge after leaving a cult, loses a tentacle, gets arrested and propagandized into following your beliefs and then decides to leave refusing to elaborate to start the cycle over again.
(spoilers) i was watching rat knights series on it and god damn i was actually suprised by how good it is... on of your colonists is actually a robotic flesh beast in disguise? a wax body that follows a colonist till the colonist gets hypnotised and dies by the body? All i wish is that they expand the research stuff, like one way glass, being able to send slaves or prisoners to test with the entities... If you pair this up with vanilla vehicles its top tier ong
Well that's what mods are for. We wait maybe a few month and a Vanilla Expanded Anomaly with various additions like the one you suggested will happen or a different mod by a different creator, and so the cycle goes round and round

Tynan and Alistair both cooked so hard for this. OST is incredible, honestly it's what made it for me.
Those metal horrors are no joke man. I made my base out of a pretty narrow cave and even though I got power armor, a couple LMGs and the new hellcat rifle out of an ancient danger, my colonists were no match, especially in those tight quarters.
My favorite DLC to be honest.

wdym? just put the ghoul corpse indoors. the resurrection serum will restore the ghoul completely even if all that's left is a skeleton
@@matteocdt5214 I mean that I was reliant on fresh meat since I didn't have a cooler yet. Didn't think it was a problem, just had my ghoul hunt on the regular. But you can't hunt during a death pall, so I needed to keep my ghoul from going crazy from hunger

The zombie issue was a bug from a mod you used called allow tool. I knew the second I saw that your ghoul had no melee
The first fight with sphere, wasnt that bad for me, because I had two casters that couldnt fight but could do a skip cast, and 3 melee and 3 range pawns. So it was just a plenty micro for skip cast. But after a year it happened again and one of my casters were food sick and second one did get knock out after first shot... In that moment i did know I am done. But luckily a caravan frome Empire came, so I did run, locked all my colonist into small kitchen and waited it out.

You could always start again with new colonists on the same map, 1-6 iirc, have new colonists pick up where the others left off
My first anomaly play through was on adventure story... okay i got the lay of the land *switches to strive to survive* yeah this feels more appropriate for the rim 🤣 brilliant dlc

Luckily, with Rimworld, you can just mod the Racism back in
The racism is actually optional
get the allow tool ghoul fix, it gives them the melee stat they're supposed to have
