Ethan Hall that hit me in the feels
I'd say I'm in-between these two groups. It depends on my mood and other circumstances. Though, in the past 2 years, I find it hard to push myself to commit to 2 hours of pretty much anything.
I mean isn’t this two different ways everyone watches movies? I really need the sound of people talking in the background so I’ll throw stuff on while I’m tired or busy around the house but when it’s a movie I want to see I’m actively engaged. I don’t really know people who are only one way or the other.
When I watch a movie, I don't like to do anything else. I can throw on music in the background, but movies are not music. They're foremost a visual medium, which requires active engagement. If you don't want to actually _watch_ a movie, then don't have it playing idly. Stick to music. Movies, with the lights, colors, and movement coupled with dialogue and music, are basically overstimulation when you're in such a passive state, which is why it's draining.
Edit: Just wanted to add that I think people have adapted to overstimulation, which is why attention is so poor nowadays. You can't be actively overstimulated for a long time, so you mentally "check out" after a while
Obviously I'm engaged in the movie the first or second time I watch it, but if I need something to have on in the background while I'm doing something, I play a movie I've already watched.
I'm such an active film watcher that I absolutely HATE having anyone around me when watching a film or series. I need to be alone to cry, scream and complain while experiencing what the characters go through.
I do this with books, I use to be able to read in front of people or anywhere but now I need to let out my reactions or talk aloud when a character is being stupid asf. It makes the reading enjoyable even if it’s not the best literature
Yes I agree hahaha I mean I enjoy watching movies with my family and friends but its really different, if its gettinf confusing or the plot is complex watching with other people is great bwcause you come up with theories etc but regarding my emotions, when I'm alone I FEEL the movie much more. For example there is a Korean Netflix series called "My country the new age" and it's just amazing and while I watched it I cried so so much but now that im rewatching it with my parents I maybe had a tear in my eye but didn't cry a river like I did when I was alone so yea lol I prefer watching movies and shows on my own as well hahahaha

This is so true! Now we tend to use our breaks by browsing on our phones or digital devices which results in us being constantly switched on or distracted and therefore taxing ourselves furthermore. We really should take real breaks, and give ourselves time to rest and perhaps slow down, be still and think about our lives more deeply.

@@DolphinGirl826I usually tell them to text me the info unless I'm talking to some company or something. It's good to have written proof of agreements, even if it's just "let's meet at [place and time]".
I had the same thing until I got a chance to practice last year as part of a board function in a ngo I volunteered for. My job as PR forced me to speed up my email process and improve the efficiency of partner meetings. After a while you realize what you are/were doing wrong. Here are some tips based on my experience:
- try to create your own frameworks/templates for emails. After a while you'll unconsciously give that structure to each of your mails, after which you only have to 'fill in the blanks'. The more mails you send the easier this becomes.
- during a meeting or phone call, keep notes! Once the discussion is over, run through your notes and recapitulate what has been said. Your conversation partner can then confirm or help you complete the conclusion of that discussion. Use these notes afterwards to process everything in your calendar or task list.
- keep documentation on anything that requires effort to remember. This way you take the load of your memory. Many useful platforms exist, or you can use paper.
- not many people care about receiving a perfectly sentenced email (unless maybe when making a first impression on potential clients/partners). Once the conversation is running, I usually prefer to keep things short and powerful rather than working hours to write a literary masterpiece. This makes it easier to get to the point.
@@GhostSamaritan for company stuff it's usefull too to have an email to keep a trace.

Good advice
XiGoat That doesn’t make much sense, it’s like saying “Life has no meaning without death,” it’s completely false, life itself is meaning enough to keep living. But it doesn’t matter how much someone is “overstimulating” their brain, they still have to stop and sleep, and sleeping is a way for most people to think. This was very interesting to listen to. I look up to my father and love him dearly for all he did for me and my older sisters in raising us, my mom as well. For me, growing up, my dad worked a very laborious job as a carpenter. Going to work before dawn at the refinery and leaving early at 4-5pm to pick me and my sister up from school. He did this everyday and was also my coach in baseball. We would practice 3 days out of the week, and when my dad would come home from work, while still in his coveralls, would grab all the gear we needed to practice and we would practice until dusk. My father has a high drive, always have since he was a kid, and still does as a 62 year old man. I'm nowhere near like my father in that regard, I wish I was, but I always aspire to be like him some day whenever I have a family.

Flexing, means to show off. It’s a reference to men that have muscles, when they flex them to demonstrate they are better than you. Or they want to get attention, and credit for it and want to impress people.
Such a great video man ❤ you're very inspirational
Very eye opening I must say. I am one of those people that have to listen or watch something while doing the household or cooking. But the difference is clear when i just turn off everything and do my daily work then I am much more calmer and I am much more productive throughout the day. Thank you so much! Your videos makes always sence to me.
Me: -Passively watches the video.-
Also me: -Actively watches the video again.-
underrated comment
lol
Ouch me too 🤣😂
Being a student with adhd doing an online semester is a great starting point lol
There is nothing that doesn't require a lot of effort and attention :/
I feel ya. Some days are forced.
How are you doing now? I don’t have adhd but online school was still hell for me. I can’t imagine what it was like for you.
These videos are really dope man keep it up 👍🏻
This is the best channel youtube has ever recommended me✨ Greetings from Venezuela🇻🇪
You look like Mark Zukkerberg cosplaying as Jason Stathom
Das HunterxHunter stop 😂😂 it can’t be unseen
This is REMARKABLY accurate.
I don't know how but you managed to misspell both of them.
@@lieutenantkleeia well aren't you captain obvious

These are more like “movies moods”.
Sometimes I’m passive, and sometimes I’m active. To me there are movies more suited to one or the other.
some movies are meant to be watch with brain turned off, and there are some movies that are supposed to be fully engaged.
@@bonelesspizza3726 So either a dogshit braindead movie or a good movie.
You don't really need to be as mentally active when watching Star Wars or LotR, you just see the characters do things. But yes, "dogshit."
This will definitely change my life for the better, thank you!
When I watch a movie or movie clip it sometimes makes lightbulbs go off in my heads with inspiration and ideas for books I could write in the future. Its usually a lot of fun.
passively watching this video hearing ``not today son´´ wondering if you just had a flashback or not
F
I'm both, depending on my mood and the movie. I'm surprised at how many people fall into group 2, interesting.
Depends a lot on the movie IMO
@@trash3570
Facts , when watching a movie im not interested in im gonna adhd away , if it's a good movie im gonna watch
ya me too
Right
i don't understand people in group 1
2 years ago, now it's 2022 congrat for you channel growth!
Love your videos so much, they help me out big time 🤩
I'm actively engaged in this video, so I've written this comment.

Brah stop I’m questioning myself too much lol
Make it a mix of reddit and a big review source like rotten tomatoes n etc because you have general audience opinion and actual reviews and you know if theyre both bad its a no
Not necessarily. Someone can write a comment after passively watching, talking about how they didn't understand it or that it's crap
great videos I'm definitely sticking in
Man I absolutely agree with you. Nice video
“Not today son”.
That hit me. WHY DAD!?!
F
Y'all scrolled down to read the comments instead of actively watching this movie? Yeah we all did
Oops i did it again
no
Shut up shut up shut up noooooooooo
You too
Yeah because he got boring and i am rather reading stupid ppl from group 2 that don't get why group 1 exist. Meanwhile i am in both groups, it just depends on what i want
I started watching you a month ago and you already changed my life. I unsubscribed from all shit not-needed apps which takes my money and time. I sleep more now, and don't drink coffee after 2pm. And now I know how to relax during the work day and be fully concentrated on actual important tasks. You are the best man! Keep doing it!
Thank you for this video, its absolutely revolutionised my workdays!!
