I think Lego could do some add-on modules that work with many sets. One that comes to mind is an elevator system with a few different hight pieces included and maybe a couple of theme plates so it can be adapted to a hospital/police station/apartment house etc.
I get the impression that thats going to be the future of lego city. Seems like a clever way to keep doing yearly hospitals, police stations, fire brigades etc without having them feel redundant. I'd love to see expansions for the 2022 sets
That childs play area is brilliant, overall I think they should have separated out the helicopter into it's own $10 set and either include more hospital or reduce the price.
They should have made a separate helipad set with a helicopter. Make it with road plates and the pad in the same colour scheme as the hospital. Many hospitals around the world have a surface helipad instead of a roof one. That way it would make a nice addon set for the hospital. And you could have a bigger chopper.
Always with the helicopters! Maybe it's just because most hospitals in the UK don't have helipads as we've got less than 50 emergency air ambulances for the whole country, but I'm a bit perplexed on Lego's insistence that every hospital must have a helicopter of some sort. Especially when there's a separate helicopter ambulance set in the range this year. With those pieces we could have had another bed in the hospital or a consultation room.
Think they should have omitted the chopper. Make the helipad accommodate the larger copter. Use the extras parts for the hospital or ambulance. Just a thought.
I'd have to say that the previous City version is much better than this one as it felt far more complete, with less things feeling missed or forgotten. This version's just kinda okay, but I do dig the unique architecture and layout of the building!
This is Jang's 10 minute tour of his MOC city hospital, with all its well-known TV doctor personalities on its staff. ua-cam.com/video/7Iu_ueUFmJc/v-deo.html
I'm underwhelmed by the hospital (especially its sad incompatibility with the larger air-ambulance helicopter), but it's hard to represent a whole metropolitan full-service hospital in what, four rooms? I think L&D and Radiology are probably the most kid-friendly units they could have included, at least on the surface level, but I'm always a little disappointed if they don't have an ER/A&E. I think that the ambulance finally does me proud, at least as a side-build. I'd love to see a more dedicated EMS set, but that doesn't seem to sell so I doubt we'll see one anytime soon. Seeing a pickup-chassis "Type-1" ambulance made it feel a little less euro-centric than some of their previous iterations and more at-home in my neck of the woods, even with the violently lime green and teal colors that reminds me of my old Rural/Metro Ambulance livery. That (oddly exterior-mounted) bag-valve mask was immediately recognizable, and a clever touch! I like when my minifig colleagues get to hold something other than a syringe to look like they're actually medical personnel. Can't really cram more equipment, a full crew, or realistic layout in a six-wide vehicle, so I think they've done well in approximating the aesthetic. (Also, the Star of Life is uniquely an *emergency* medical services emblem, so why is it on this hospital that has no ER? I guess I need to let my imagination stretch a bit more, or let go of some workplace pet peeves. At least they didn't put the Star on only the hospital, and a Caduceus on the Ambulance/Helo...)
What i remember loving back in the 80s and i see my little daughter also when she gets her hands on some car models is constantly opening and closing doors, putting stuff in, getting it out. I find it such a pitty, that he otherwise grat looking car, has no doors at all. LEGO in general seems to abandon the concept of doors more and more sadly :( Great review Jang! Thanks!
Really digging the colours for this set, maybe a little overkill on the neon ambulance, but the ambulance I quite like in shaping. Would be nice if they sold this kind of ambulance as a stand-alone. All the medical minifigures I really like as well, including the patient figure.
Great review of this set. I think the Euro price fits for what you get here. Combining this with the previous set might get you a more complete hospital. Personally I would love Lego to split the hospital, firestation and police station into modular sections, each focusing on a specific aspect of the theme. Combining several sections will give you a complete building
im just amazed that we got another hospital so soon after the recent one in 2019. They come along very rarely. Before the most recent one, the last last hospital was back in 2006
I am a massive fan of the 60204 City Hospital from 2018 and to me that was the pinnacle of LEGO health services. This one looks very good as well, but I'd really have to look at them side by side to choose the winner. As you say - it's all about the little things.
I did the aesthetics of this set It's a big awkward that it doesn't have an emergency room, but that's a very easy fix with one less mri machine and one more chainsaw so i don't mind it at all
The ambulance has great potential to be re-built as a nice looking pickup, utility vehicle etc etc. The designer has done a really good job of getting a nice, realistic body shape for the vehicle
Does anyone know what Lego's strategy for City will be going forward? They used to spread out the rereleases of bigger buildings over a few years but now they seemingly released new ones all at once. Does that mean the original sub themes like police, fire department etc will be less separated in the future?
That helicopter could use bigger pieces to stay within the parts budget and be more playable as a toy, and yet look better and more like a 1 person helicopter.
Will definitely buy another hospital set in the future to customize and make it modular. But they should've included at least one more patient room, an emergency room, and an operating room. Also the ambulance needs brake lights.
That's a very good set with a bunch fun set of mini-figs. Kids will love that. With its higher quality, this channel is essential for us to decide if we are going to buy a set or not. Thanks !
Something about 6380 and it's simple design is takes the cake over this one for me. I think it would be hilarious and wish the mom had a delivery face for the alternate.
I am modifying mine to be an extension on the previous hospital set, with a passage way between both that fits the ambulances underneath. The MRI scan has been moved to the other hospital.
I like the set overall I just feel that the roof seating area needs a bit more work. And the helipad needs to be bigger especially to fit in with the other medical helicopter. Good review tho jang
Thanks for the great review. You always point out the good and the bad side of the sets you review. That's good, as most of the people on UA-cam, who review these sets, only have a negative opinion about them. The new city sets are not ideal, but they possess play value. Lego also gives you the possibility to modify these sets in your own way.
I got reasonably lucky buying this set. Barely out and suddenly Amazon AU puts a 30% discount on it bringing it down to the equivalent of just under $79USD ($111AUD) and even a small free gift with purchase! Score! I think I might end up using it in combination with 60204 which also has very similar predominantly white with red highlights. Could attach the back of this to the kiosk end of that one with minimal modification and would make for a model with much greater depth and some interesting shaping. Could add a ton of extra floor space between.
Thanks for the video. I hope you do a combination video combining all city sets with the "new" roadplate system like you did last year. Especially for childeren this would be great. They can make their own mini playable city or town with the sets they own or want.
It's amazing to me that LEGO just completely dropped the modular aspects of the set. I still think I like the last one better. Just looks more 'real' to me, the helicopter actually holds a patient. At least LEGO didn't cheap out on minifigures. Some of the new hair pieces are stunning.
Cool set. I would definitely have the ER on the first floor with helipad outside it and an elevator to ICU above the ER. A surgery area would be much cooler than OB. Keep the main entrance and offices/play area on the other side.
I would mix the architecture of 60351 and the hospital to make a « modular » sized hospital Using the garage of 60351 as ambulance garage and the parts of the hospital and launching room to make the rest Would be very cool even if it’s a budget
There's something just off about lego city sets recently. Some of them seem like they had a great build then stripped it down to be as profitable as possible. Between that and the color scheme of friends there are so many great sets I would love to do some things with but may as well start from scratch considering what comes in the box. SO close to being perfect that it ends up being disappointing.
As a former medical imaging technician, I for one welcome the “MRI” scanner. But apart from that, this hospital set is disappointing to me and inferior to the previous version, which didn’t excite me much as well, but at least had more diversity. There’s only 2 medical related rooms in this set, the whole lower floor feels like a waste of space to me. I’m missing an OR/ER, a bigger (ICU) ward, an examination room or perhaps a small lab or staff break room. I do like the general design of the building with the “overhanging” floor though (although the random chairs on the roof seem a bit odd).
@@dmonsef I think you could do it in a regular city set as wel. The previous city hospital and the friends hospital from 2017 had more diverse detail, and not every function needs a fully decked out room (ER+OR, Lab+MRI can be the combined, etc.). Don’t need a modular sized building for that.
I bought the bigger Friends hospital on sale. Counted out the pink and purple pieces for the walls and ordered replacements in colors I chose. It is my favorite hospital. After seeing this one, I'm still sure I made the right choice. Mine is light-years better than this one
Hey @jangbricks, did you notice that the ambulance license plate includes the model number 60330? It’s also in other City sets (eg fire trucks license plates). (From Goni Rave)
I finally went ahead and got this set. 68 euros it cost me. Which is a great price for the set. And for that money, you get your worth of stuff absolutely. Still I got some qualms about the set. Integrating it in a lego city with the road plate system is a chore with this one. You actually need to get a road plate set just to do that. Because of that sidepiece "children's play room" Because it is in the way of anything going past it. You need at least half a plate to clear it. Then the other side is really weird with the half-plate width ramp. That would just come out on another road alongside the set if anything. I feel this set will always be in the rear of any city. I'll have to look into it more to see how it could get a more prominent place. Because you can't do much but keep it in the back, or else you end up with lots of empty room around it if you want to build around it.
I concur that it would have better off without the helicopter. With the larger one available, we do not need the tiny one. The minifigs are excellent in this, probably the biggest strength of the set. I have the other recent hospital and might consider combining it with this one if I feel like ultimately buying this. Putting both hospitals together might be interesting, although there will be some clash with the color schemes, especially with the vehicles. Agree with Jang that this looks like it should be around $100.
This set is screaming for add-ons and modifications. The inside of the ambulance could have used some detail stickers. A little base piece could elevate the lobby seating???
Hey Jang. Thank you for your excellent reviews. I was wondering if you were planning to make a video showing the connection between all the road plate sets from 2021 and 2022. I have not yet seen someone on UA-cam show off the 2022 road plate sets in a connected system.
If you took out the bathroom and snack bar, you could put a smallish elevator in that corner. Other than that, I really like this set. Won't be getting it though.
I'm an ER nurse and AFOL. The sandwiches and juice at the ER entrance is absolutely perfect! I definitely have to buy this set. Is it ok if I share your video on my ER nursing group?
It's okay, although I would prefer if it was built to allow several sets to combine together, creating a bigger hospital. Similar to how the Heartlake High School and Spider-Man Ultimate Bridge Battle sets were designed.
That's a great idea
its fun to see Lego is putting the effort to show us what a lego brain with eyes MRI scan would look like in lego form.
The 'L' shaped plan works great. Allows as much accessibility as possible with an interesting layout.
That childs play area is brilliant, overall I think they should have separated out the helicopter into it's own $10 set and either include more hospital or reduce the price.
They should have made a separate helipad set with a helicopter. Make it with road plates and the pad in the same colour scheme as the hospital. It's basically a requirement for Lego to include a helicopter in all of the public service headquarter buildings :P

Thank God you had a review coming out soon, other reviewers have no idea what they are talking about.
The set itself looks pretty great. I just think the price is a bit to much for what your getting.
as a technic and detailed build fan, I'd pay like $40 for this :/
Watching reviews of sets with buildings is so relaxing because of how cozy everything is.

I feel like a more traditionally shaped building would have made it easier to integrate with other sets, especially with the curved windows.
I would if i had enough money 😂
Good to see they included an ambulance pickup as they are starting to be the main body type of ambulances in Scandinavia.
This set could be so awesome with some add on rooms and floors. I loved the last hospital set, but this one is pretty good as well.
Does anyone know what Lego's strategy for City will be going forward? They used to spread out the rereleases of bigger buildings over a few years but now they seemingly released new ones all at once. I just hope we get more trains tbh.
My favorite Lego hospital still has to be 6380 but this is a close second
The cannon shape of the Lego brain is cool but creepy
That helicopter could use bigger pieces to stay within the parts budget and be more playable as a toy, and yet look better and more like a 1 person helicopter.
I like it, but not as much as the 2018 one
I love how the ambulance looks both build and colorwise
I still love my 2006 Lego City Hospital, I still think it's one of the best hospitals made by Lego
Will definitely buy another hospital set in the future to customize and make it modular. But they should've included at least one more patient room, an emergency room, and an operating room. Also the ambulance needs brake lights.

Really like the neon colors
I love the new style for the lego ambulances.
My brother was in hospital recently and I can say it is pretty accurate! I think the printed hood piece can be really useful for custom ambulances!
I am modifying mine to be an extension on the previous hospital set, with a passage way between both that fits the ambulances underneath. The MRI scan has been moved to the other hospital.
nice set and many minifigures
Thank you for the review!
It’s easily the best set in city 2022 line so far!
I like the set overall I just feel that the roof seating area needs a bit more work. And the helipad needs to be bigger especially to fit in with the other medical helicopter. Good review tho jang
That rooftop hangout without the safety railing must be there to facilitate the injuries that would be required to get full use out of this set.
Also, if the ambulance driver hits the breaks, he's gonna get hit by the gurney, so that's another casualty right there (!)
Jang always looking out for the value!
The ambulance looks so American to me and I'm glad the helicopter is so minimalistic - didn't had to be here so the smaller the better!
The design of the ambulance is American while the colors are European. Also if you look at the ambulance closely it needs brake lights.
I'm planning to get this
I can't believe we didn't have a pair of doors without the middle thingy until now
the ambulance gives off vibes from the arkham asylum truck from 2014
i have the other recent hospital i think they would be pretty easy to combine them.
@12:23
when the mash theme hits!!!!
If you think $120 is expensive, Walmart sells these for $140 around here right now.
Thanks for the great review. You always point out the good and the bad side of the sets you review. That's good, as most of the people on UA-cam, who review these sets, only have a negative opinion about them. The new city sets are not ideal, but they possess play value. One of those "wash your hands" stickers would probably work well in some public place in NJC
I got reasonably lucky buying this set. Lego should step up thier game. Friends got alternate heads but city are lacking them
Thanks for the video. I hope you do a combination video combining all city sets with the "new" roadplate system like you did last year. Especially for childeren this would be great. They can make their own mini playable city or town with the sets they own or want.
personaly i like the 60204 hospital alot more
Just bought this set on clearance for $79.00 US. A awesome score!
Some good stuff and ideas to add to a moc hospital
If they made they made the ambulance red and white I would like it but nice hospital
I’m. Buying. This.
I thought this was going to be priced the same as the fire and police stations from looking at it
It's amazing to me that LEGO just completely dropped the modular aspects of the set. I still think I like the last one better. Just looks more 'real' to me, the helicopter actually holds a patient. At least LEGO didn't cheap out on minifigures. Some of the new hair pieces are stunning.
can't wait to build mine
That ambulance is fantastic, though
This really completed my town they even added the backrooms
Great review, great set. If I get sick, I definitely prefer this hospital over the 2006 one with the chainsaw... 😄
I don't think I've ever seen that cast piece on the little boy's hand. It's pretty cool.
Yeah it's from a collectible minifig guy I think
Cool set. I would definitely have the ER on the first floor with helipad outside it and an elevator to ICU above the ER. A surgery area would be much cooler than OB. Keep the main entrance and offices/play area on the other side.
Indeed, bag valve or Non-Rebreather Mask.
I really like the building, but the helipad is such a blunder! The ambulance looks amazing.
I would mix the architecture of 60351 and the hospital to make a « modular » sized hospital
Using the garage of 60351 as ambulance garage and the parts of the hospital and launching room to make the rest

A MOC of this with the 2018 hospital might make it better (all other too i guess)
I LOVE these colors and figures! The big standouts are that ambulance and the new “fade” hairpiece. Love it all, but won’t get it…
As a skateboarder that blue bench/rail would be fun to skate
I would love if the entirety of the ambulance could be yellow-green color of the top
I need a hospital/Clinic for my city.haha glad its on the new road plates cause all my roads r road plates.
I bought the bigger Friends hospital on sale. Counted out the pink and purple pieces for the walls and ordered replacements in colors I chose. It is my favorite hospital. After seeing this one, I'm still sure I made the right choice. Mine is light-years better than this one
The chairs on the roof are iffy. Overall, a very nice set. It should probably be $99.99 US
Seeing teal green parts again gives me hope for rock raiders revival(that will never happen).
Some kids could get a lot of play out of the set. Thanks, Jang:)
Hey @jangbricks, did you notice that the ambulance license plate includes the model number 60330? It’s also in other City sets (eg fire trucks license plates). (From Goni Rave)
Maybe there’s no railing on the roof so the hospital can get more patients
Just not a fan of that yellow but seems like others are loving it.
I finally went ahead and got this set. 68 euros it cost me. Which is a great price for the set. And for that money, you get your worth of stuff absolutely. Still I got some qualms about the set. Just like real hospitals!
If Lego could have got a hospital out in the previous 2 years it would have sold so well given current events.
Technically you could take radiology and also turn it into emergency room or O.R (operation room).
i haven't bought this set yet but i would like to use that ambulance maybe even build it in different colors
I think you convinced me that this is better than the 2018 hospital but the ambulance is worse and it has less value for money
It would have been a lot nicer if they had extended the over-road section so that it would've 'bridged' an entire twin-lain road.
Thank you!
With a good discount, why not. I like the layout, it just need to be extended a little bit.
Lego should've used their helipad from their police station set from a few years ago
Hi,could you join two sets and give us an idea on how to make the hospital bigger? I am thinking on buying two sets to do just so. Thanks.
I don't want to buy the set but I really want the ambulance
If you took out the bathroom and snack bar, you could put a smallish elevator in that corner. Other than that, I really like this set. Won't be getting it though.
I'm an ER nurse and AFOL. The sandwiches and juice at the ER entrance is absolutely perfect! I definitely have to buy this set. Is it ok if I share your video on my ER nursing group?
It's okay, although I would prefer if it was built to allow several sets to combine together, creating a bigger hospital. Similar to how the Heartlake High School and Spider-Man Ultimate Bridge Battle sets were designed.
