The station just takes me right back to smaller stations I encountered in Europe this summer. Didn’t really like it when it was revealed but it is spot on for several stations I visited in the more rural/town stations I would change lines on in Belgium and the Neatherlands. Much bigger fan of it now having spent 3 week traveling solely by rail.
My local train station has a tiny 1 car platform. Supposedly local housing developments paid a lot of money just to get that single car station to appeal to high earning city workers. Then after spending millions of dollars to put it there, and all the homes and townhouses and apartments were sold, the city stopped using it as a train station and just drives past it. They only had a 5 year deal. When that deal was up, it wasn't renegotiated. Then over the years, all those people who had literally moved in for train station access moved out, so it's pretty much a new looking ghost town full of empty homes, no businesses.
love that the blue bus' number is 43 cause that's the number of one of the blue buses that go to and from billund airport, billund being the town lego is from in case whoever reads this didn't know
That train station is a commuter train station with the ticket office being used during peak periods and the ticket booths are used when the indoor ticket office is closed. Also I bought two sets to double the length of the platform. And I bought a bunch of jumpers and plates to move the platform to within a half stud between the train and platform.
I actually like this set alot. I really like the bus the most, but the train station and work truck is pretty nice too. If my budget allows it I will try to get it. 👍🏻
I think it's a pity they didn't include a bus stop to attach to the road plate. The fact that the bus driver and train controller are obviously part of the same transport system (as evidenced by the matching uniforms) would seem to imply an integrated public transport system. People catching the bus to the railway station is a realistic thing. But it needs a bus stop and that wouldn't have added many pieces. I do think that the passenger train is incongruous at the station. High speed trains don't usually stop at suburban stations.
Build actually looks better now I'm seeing it here and lots of trans light blue is useful for mocs. The bus has to be my favourite part 👍Still shocked by how much cheaper this is here in the UK
They did a really good design with by the bus wheelchair accessible. It would have been good if they added a wheelchair minifig to show off that good design.
Really desirable set. I'm happy you're doing this again. The $100 feels $20 too steep for me, but then that orange truck is probably where the bonus $20 comes in. I feel like I didn't need the orange truck or the railroad crossing to be here. Love the train roll up. Really creative.
I thought this was a beautiful design the moment I first saw it, but I didn't appreciate what a substantial size it was until now. I'm hoping it might get discounted eventually by about 30% in the UK at which point I'll bite, though the RRP is reasonable by modern day LEGO standards. The lack of the transport logo on the staff uniform was surprising, but at least it makes those torsos more versatile for use elsewhere.
That bus is really nice. For a moment I thought the rack at the rear was the concession to wheelchair accessibility. ~ Just hook Timmy onto the back of the bus and hope he makes it to his destination (!)
I think the studded sides of the port-a-potty are a great representation of the way the real things have complex 3-D panels to give them strength and rigidity.
I like what they did with the colour pallet of the build but I'm not a big fan of the roof, especially looking at it directly from the front it looks very blocky, the worker booth at the top doesn't help with that. I would have preferred a more rounded roof, perhaps at an angle.
Having designed and built my own Big Boy 4-8-8-4 and Challenger 4-6-6-4 MOCs and 8w cars, I appreciate the gap a tad more than people using the traditional 6w rolling stock, though it could be pulled in by a stud. I suspect the gap was intentionally made wider than past stations because so many people put curve track before and after a train station so the nose of the modern passenger trains can still be over the rail when approaching the station. I agree for a hundred bucks, this station had way more than I expected and I like the clean postmodern architecture (my day job), though the color palate and textures remind me of the Kash n Karry grocery stores from when I was a kid. My only disappointment is that this and the new passenger train have rail employees that don't feature the Lego train logo on their torsos. Take a look at the train conductor, station controller, and bus driver. That circle with double arrows is missing. I was surprised at that.
Combining the small station that comes with the train with this station makes it long enough for both carriages. I also modified the combined station by widening the platform by 2 studs to reduce the gap (carriage doors are high enough to still open) and added extra interior detail to the station and steps to the control room very easily
It’d be nice if they had a small train with a coach for the station, like just a small cute little old steam engine with a small carriage. Maybe even give the station bigger plates or get it closer to the tracks for any train. It feels like a good set, but the 3 stud gap is a odd choice.
The platform may not be long enough for two carriages, but since the doors are central on each carriage, the platform looks just long enough to line up both doors at the same time, which is all it functionally needs to.
‘The all-important coffee mug’ i think is the classic Jang quote! The Lego red coffee mug has been my favourite piece ever since I saved up my pocket money for the snack bar in the 70’s and it included 2 of these wonderful new items! So yes, it is an all-important coffee mug. ☕️ and i love how they used that ratchet for the espresso machine spouts. Ps. Dear Mr Jang, I hope you can build the Lion knight’s castle soon as I’m waiting for a really good look at it in lieu of being able to own such a behemoth set myself. Thankyou for your great reviews!
The lego train station can be linked with the small platform provided for the green express train to make a station plat form long enough to have both train cars meet it.
I feel like a child watching this, but im not going to lie I love these. I ordered Cobi Titanic stand 960 version just for collection. And this set you show here is just beautiful :D
Pretty good looking set. My only complaints are the wheels on the bus being comically small, the huge gap on the train platform and the lack of an actual train. Obviously to add a train would elevate this set to a higher price point, so I understand why there's no train. Still, it would have been cool to have a train for a train station.
I swear they find a way to put those metal bar pieces in every single set. Now whenever I watch a review I'm just waiting for the moment where they pop up
The outside of the toilet being studded makes so much sense to me haha, it just adds to the gross feeling of that particular design I think. It could be better I’m sure, but I think having it be stud-less would be too clean looking.
The studs on the outside of the portapotty are irrating, I agree. I understand why they may the platform a short expanse (easier to fit in a city), but I'd probably extend it so both passenger cars could disenbark. I'm underwhelmed by the cafe. I feel they could have made better use of that space, had more product in it. Although I do like the use of the car windscreen for the display. That said, I do like the set, but will look for it at a sale price. TFS
Would have been an opportunity to include 1 or 2 more straight rail sections which are always sought after since bends are over represented in standard train sets. Then a normal length train would have fitted in this set (even if all doors are not accessible from the platform).
I really wish that they would make heavy vehicles eight studs wide rather than six studs wide. The bus looks so good, but it scales poorly compared to bigger cars. Oh well, maybe one day we'll get a bus in Speed Champions!
A nice welcome addition to the family of Lego train stations. I love how the advertising ties in nicely with other sets in this year's Lego City theme. Shame about the platform gap. Is it to allow the train doors to open outwards? Great review as always!
Although very basic on the interior-side, this is a really nice station with a lot of space for figures. One of the best buildings I've seen Lego City do in a while
I kind of like the studs on the side of the portable relief center. To me, whenever I see Lego Studs on a model that implants in my mind a sort of 'working' area or object. Plus those things do tend to have really rough textured sides. But from the back it does look bad even to me. Looks fine from the front though.
I dont really care for the train station or the orange rail truck but i really like the bus. A nice modern mid size bus with realistic doors and the toilet is very good since toilets are rare in lego!
About the platform length, considering the doors are at the middle of the cars, it seems like you might just fit the doors of both cars along the platform? And maybe you could use the small platform from 60337 as an extension, it seems the same height and similar in construction? But overall I'm just glad they have a station again, and I quite like it! Despite a few niggles most of it is pretty good. And even the European price feels very fair for what you get, especially compareed to so many other recent sets. Honestly, if I had to change something I think would have just left out that maintenance truck and made that into a separate €20 set so the station itself could be even cheaper. But still, even when it seems like a unnecessary addition to the set, luckily it doesn't seem to have affected the price that much.
I really wish that LEGO would do a proper 10-stud wide minifigure scale city bus. If Speed Champions is 8-stud wide then a bus should be at least 10. Heck I’d even pay $40-$50 if they did it right.
I was able to buy this and the barn & farm animals sets in Europe and with the dollar and euro being equal it amounted to about $55 less than if bought in California... Too bad they don't have train station sets more often. Thanks for the review!
this is alright, but i still really love 4554, the yellow train station released in the 90s. i still have mine from when i was a kid. beautiful set, and, imo, way cooler than this set. i also feel like this is way too expensive. at half the price i would've been able to get behind this set, but not at $100. maybe it's just the cynic in me, but it seems like they included the train tracks in order to jack up the price.
The dollar and Euro are one to one right now so it would be cheaper to import it along with some more sets. Just keep your weight below 150lbs so you're not paying freight shipping.
Hay yar king Jang. Ooh another one of the train track part s so can put train onto the track s I got one outta a set from few years back think it might be from the hidden side train. Set if I red call.
The king of Lego reviews. And from what I understand you buy every set yourself so you can stay independant and critisize when needed, I appreciate that. One question though, where do all these sets end up, do you still have room left to live in your house haha?
Too bad they didn't use the porta-Poti/loo from set 2905 that looked much better. It would be nice to add an overhead electrical pickup to the rear end of the bus roof. Otherwise, a nice set once the platform to train gap has been addressed. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for making this review video was waiting for one on the station and I may try to get one soon I love the station alot and the bus too can't wait for your review on the two newer train sets! Btw love all the Gundam stuff on the shelf behind you and is that a destiny ghost shell too?
Even the Australian price isn't so high either. Sure, $130 sounds a lot on paper, but with the current conversion rate and our tax removed, it's the same as $80 USD. You guys got the short end of the stick this time!
As a danish citizen, I absolutely love the blue bus. It's just a perfect rendition of the ones you would see in real life here.
The station just takes me right back to smaller stations I encountered in Europe this summer. Mind the gap more like mind the chasm. Looking forward to you reviewing the freight train or the cargo train.
Man I LOVE that bus! Would love to have it as a separate set!
Your reviews are what got me into building Lego. I always watch your reviews before I make the decision to buy a set. Thank you.
LONG overdue in my opinion. They should do a City station every four years just like with the trains. But I think this set is well worth the wait.
The bus is by far the best part of this set
I love the maintenance truck and trailer! I wish we had that as a $20 set itself
Good review. Are you sure it's a hearing aid on the male figure? He has a radio on the back of his uniform so it may just be an earpiece.
I’m excited to see a review of the trains
This station plus the new cargo train engine w the old passenger train coaches is a beautiful combination!
I thought this was a beautiful design the moment I first saw it, but I didn't appreciate what a substantial size it was until now. I'm hoping it might get discounted eventually by about 30% in the UK at which point I'll bite, though the RRP is reasonable by modern day LEGO standards. That bus is really nice.
For a moment I thought the rack at the rear was the concession to wheelchair accessibility. ~ Just hook Timmy onto the back of the bus and hope he makes it to his destination (!)
One of the details I liked was the advertisement on the bench and back of the bus for Fresh the in universe grocery store and food truck.
I think the studded sides of the port-a-potty are a great representation of the way the real things have complex 3-D panels to give them strength and rigidity.

A train station without a train. That's my only issue.

My old 1980's train station is just as good and I still use it with my Emerald Night train and I am happy with it.
It’d be nice if they had a small train with a coach for the station, like just a small cute little old steam engine with a small carriage. Maybe even give the station bigger plates or get it closer to the tracks for any train. It feels like a good set, but the 3 stud gap is a odd choice.

Another great city set , have to modify the ramp to make it more accurate definitely. Hope they can come out with a huge airport like this !
I’m excited for the other trains!
I really like the design of the bus - I may need to make a moc of it!
Nice set wish they added the cat that was found. The blue bird is cool a small train would be cool love the buss

I think this is a great set both for kids and city builders. Well done Lego. Any chance of a bus station next?
The lego train station can be linked with the small platform provided for the green express train to make a station plat form long enough to have both train cars meet it.
LOL the steep wheel chair accessible ramp coupled with having to jump a wheel chair over a 3 stud gap. That would be 2' in real life.
I feel like a child watching this, but im not going to lie I love these. I ordered Cobi Titanic stand 960 version just for collection. And this set you show here is just beautiful :D

I hope they keep up with the train station for each new train release. We can have this one as the green line, and do different colors in the future.
One of the best sets ever. A future all time classic.
I have it, still unpacked because im still waiting my tables for Lego to start with my Lego project.. Awesome set for the price!
The bus is looking good and I just purchased 2 buses and will make some adjustment for my lego town.
I swear they find a way to put those metal bar pieces in every single set. Now whenever I watch a review I'm just waiting for the moment where they pop up

I've been waiting for you to make this
Loving this! Its getting tempting to start a lego city...
5:11 Do you plan on reviewing set 60337 Express Passenger Train?
12:00 the argyle autumnal sweater in the middle is dope I rle want it might actually try and get it separately for the first time
Have you tried combing the station with the included platform that comes with the passenger train to make it longer?
More seats in the Bus compared to the new airplane
that HUGE poop in the toiler is just amazing LOL xDDDDD
I really wish that they would make heavy vehicles eight studs wide rather than six studs wide. The bus looks so good, but it scales poorly compared to bigger cars. Oh well, maybe one day we'll get a bus in Speed Champions!
The colour scheme matches one of the buildings in the monkiekid theme which may suite being placed with this one
Now I'm waiting for that train review
Thanks for the vid. Picked this up today for my city. Wait. No TP! this station setting must be during the lockdown. 😅😊😂 Cheers
The bus is well design. I like it!
If you find this at $70-$80 good deal. Not a bad set.
Beautiful set thank you Jang
I'm glad everyone agrees that the bus is the best part of this set. Seriously I would buy it if it was just the bus.
Unlike the last bus with its train doors this one should be easy to build as a right-hand drive version.
I love this set and I can't wait to Get it. The price here in Canada is $124 CAD. Good job. Can't wait for the Train Reviews.
A nice welcome addition to the family of Lego train stations. I love how the advertising ties in nicely with other sets in this year's Lego City theme.
Shame about the platform gap. Is it to allow the train doors to open outwards?
Great review as always!
That is a good piece to join with the road plate.
Finally, been waiting for this review
Better set than it first looked. The railway crossing and station look great, fun colors! Will pick up (after a price reduction stateside)!
Man that bus looks so good.
Although very basic on the interior-side, this is a really nice station with a lot of space for figures. One of the best buildings I've seen Lego City do in a while

I dont really care for the train station or the orange rail truck but i really like the bus. A nice modern mid size bus with realistic doors and the toilet is very good since toilets are rare in lego!
This is on my list. I’ll pick it up soon.
With some slight modifications, this bus can become a Greyhound bus,or double the length for a realistic city bus...
To be honest, this set comes off more like a light rail station for trolleys, tramcars, and elevated trains. Maybe a public transit combo set.
Would it be possible though to get the doors of both passenger compartments in front of the station platform at the same time?
Maybe if they had added a second trailer with porta toilet it would cross over into good value. Also in Canada it’s retail is $129.99
About the platform length, considering the doors are at the middle of the cars, it seems like you might just fit the doors of both cars along the platform? And maybe you could use the small platform from 60337 as an extension, it seems the same height and similar in construction?

It reminds me of the lego hidden side ghost train express.
Wouldn’t it have been an improved set to just simply replace all the basic vehicles with a basic starter train??
There are two sets released at the same time for that already
I was able to buy this and the barn & farm animals sets in Europe and with the dollar and euro being equal it amounted to about $55 less than if bought in California... Too bad they don't have train station sets more often. Thanks for the review!

After your review, I really like it!
I have this set, I removed the top and used the pieces to make a back wall (so I could put it in my city)
I like this set. The bus is good
Love the shirt!
The dollar and Euro are one to one right now so it would be cheaper to import it along with some more sets. Just keep your weight below 150lbs so you're not paying freight shipping.
Great reviews Jang very through as always 😎😎 ps love that t-shirt you have where is it from - you should definitely get a deal with a clothing brand
Hay yar king Jang. Ooh another one of the train track part s so can put train onto the track s I got one outta a set from few years back think it might be from the hidden side train. Set if I red call.
we need this bus as a standalone set
The king of Lego reviews. And from what I understand you buy every set yourself so you can stay independant and critisize when needed, I appreciate that.
One question though, where do all these sets end up, do you still have room left to live in your house haha?
The empty toilet roll holder is just perfect verisimilitude.
I wish this was a Bus terminal with a proper coach bus instead. Why putting train rails and no train?
