Very nice build! I am always intrigued with 427 builds. You don’t hear much about them anymore even though years back that was the king of Chevy engines. Always wanted to build one with modern afr oval port heads and a solid roller with a tunnel ram for a street strip car with a manual trans! Fun I bet!

The high performance big block closed chambered heads was 11 to 1 pistons and the L88 first design was upped to 11.5 to 1 pistons and the second design open chambered oval port aluminum heads had the 12.5 to 1 pistons. I lived and raced this period with the baby big block the 1965 Corvette 396 c.i., closed chambered iron square port heads that was rebuilt 30/over 13 to 1 pistons and a full race cam with upgraded valve springs. It never was put on a dyno, but the machine shop/speed shop estimated it should have been around 650 hp. It pushed my 1972 split bumper SS/RS Camero, (yellow & looked good), like it was that much hp. I had the M22 four speed that was going to replace the STOCK Turbo 350 that was starting to slip from foot braking that much hp, then my brother totaled the car when it was T-boned. Then I got married with children that made me store the engine until 2004 when I sold it to a guy that needed it for his 1965 Corvette restoration, with the months and weeks stamped or molded so it perfectly fit his Vette's body build date. I kinda wondered if that engine I bought actually came from that car. Be safe and healthy while having a good day.
