650hp 590 torque all in my 66-6700? That is nuts esp wiht GM heads....370cfm! Exactly what Im looking for just swap the irons for AFR or Darts Surprised to see a dual plane on there, no need for a single? Keep up the good work! This is a lil monster of a BB.

Sounds angry, makes me want to pull my stock LS5 engine (365hp) and get going!
Mark is the best man for it. Nobody does a big block or even sbc like him.
Mark I have this same motor as well with 10.50 compression and Strip Dominator intake, holley HP pro 950. What is the cam Part number you used in this build? My L88 is still "Virgin 4.250"

yo bro i need your help. im trying to build that 468 you did with peanut port heads. i got a 454 2 bolt block , and 236 casting heads, did u do anything to the heads for port work, and or bigger valves. also i cant run a hydraulic roller, im on a budget so what size duration cam should i do for a hydraulic flat tappet, i want to do 10.5:1 compression pump gas. i got a dfual plane air gap oval port intake and an 850 carb, along with some nice 2 inch headers full length long tube. Helpppp!!
My 236 heads were ported with 2.190/1.880 valves. I don't think a hyd flat tappet is a good idea.

I time him getting off the throttle at about 8.66 seconds into the run, are you saying he did 10.69 off the throttle on a coast?

I had a 2nd design L88, 1969 model w/ .560" x .580" factory cam? (sorry, I measured and not sure it was right), with the 850 holley best of 10.82, at 123.w/ 11.5x28 x 15. 2x 660 center squirters on a Wiend tunnel ram on it and it ran 9.82 at 139 with Blairs Steve B. tuning it. (I couldn't get it to run but 11.3's). Those engines were the bomb!!!!!(not legal for anything short of C/gas)

This is a Mark Jones (VortecPro) built 496 big block Chev...This man has been building these engines for years now and is very well known for making big power with cast 781 and 049 oval port heads on pump gas 489, 496 big block Chevys! Mark is a straight shooter and top notch engine builder! 👍 He has some videos of his builds, just search his name on UA-cam.

@@gordocarboBetter? More power and likely longer lived. But it's not what an L88 was, not the compression, the camshaft, the valves. I won't argue it's not better, but it's not an L88.

@@lollipop84858 wow, mine took about 3 months. i kept in contact during the build. when he called and said it would be ready we drove to colorado to pick it up and were able to watch the dyno pulls. i would call him and talk to him. 3 years seems like maybe something obviously happened. i hope you get it taken care of. but i would definetly call and talk to him. once you get it you will definetly be very happy! please let me know what you find out. best of luck!
