ive just bought an 09 minibus...its huge ..all the hard work already done ..just gotta make it nice inside .. as long as its cosy warm and functional i dont care about spending loads of money doing it up ..its just a van at the end of the day ...looking fwd to having some adventures in it tho ..
Been thinking of doing a van conversion and saw one of these parked up, they are massive! A very good choice for me, I’ll be following your progress :)
Ah great! Yes they certainly are a good sized machine. Just make sure you check any van you look at for rust. Some iveco’s get it pretty bad. (Arches, sills, around the engine bay etc) Thanks for watching:)
Nomadd UK great vans! Well, I can certainly say it’s quieter with the sound deadening and insulation. Much less rattling. As for MPG, i was getting high 30’s on the motorway. Possibly even into the 40’s if going easy. I expect I’ll achieve 30-34mpg fully kitted out. We shall see!
Nice one my friend! Yes new video coming in the next couple of days, made some decent progress. Window, skylight etc. Keep in touch, keen to hear how you get on. Is your a 2.8?
Can i ask why uou went for the iveco? I am on the process of trying to decide or just find a van. I heard that a ford transit they are wide enough to have a bed widthways which definitely sounds like a bonus. Where do i even find a secondhand van? :-0
I went for Iveco because they’re cheaper than equivalent Mercedes sprinters etc, can get a good mileage, and condition Iveco for less. Although they are harder to find a good one. Make sure you avoid rust! The wider vans to look at would be Fiat Ducato’s etc. They share the same engine as the Iveco’s, but they are wider. Look on eBay and autotrader! Don’t rush into it, do some research.
I haven’t really recovered from it, I still very much have it. But it does get easier, after a while you’re able to live a good life. It doesn’t come with the same fear of when you first get it. Hope you’re okay my friend.
ifell3 Firstly thanks for subscribing:) and yes you can! I do plan to do that at some stage. I could actually all 3 front seats to rotate, that is pencilled in. New videos on the van build coming very soon:) hope you enjoyed Cal’s video.
@@mattdixon5299 hahaha I was thinking I should get back to watch it, but then went on a van build video hunt!! Looking forward in watching the progress!
ifell3 it’s easy to become obsessed with van build videos. I went a step to far and bought one..! Ah thank you, so am I. I’ll try and keep it as entertaining as possible. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of cock ups to laugh at:)
Anton B Hey Anton! I’m looking into this myself. It’s something I plan to add at some stage. I haven’t done much research on it. So couldn’t give advice at this stage. I’ve seen it done in Iveco’s though!
@@mattdixon5299 Man after my own heart i've been trying to do this for the last 10 years but never really got around to it. Often said to my mother before she died this is what I would do if anything happened to her - still not got round to it. Keep videoing bud.
I'm trying to buy an xlwb iveco daily but prefer older van with no crap modern electronics. They seem to either too expensive or not failiers. Dam covid thing has screwed up everything.
Hey Glyn, yeah the sweet spot seems to be about 2005. Iveco electronics can be funny, but they’re pretty basic, unless you buy really new. I sometimes wish I’d gone for an older van than 2010. Just make sure you get a van with no rust issues, that’s the most important but. Engine work etc is all doable. Rust can ruin the whole thing. Good luck!
I'll. Be watching with much glee and anticipation
All the best 😀

Matt Dixon thanks for the heads up :) maybe my channel will end up converting to a van life channel haha
This will be my next van. Before converting it you should do a sound level test and mpg test.

@@mattdixon5299 Not too bad then. I will be interested to know the difference.
Hope it goes well mate
Thank you my friend! Me too!😅
Keep them coming I've just started a 2004 daily conversion

@@mattdixon5299 yes 2.8 it's an old van it has windows in and a dodgy skylight but would by a newer model once this one is done
Armchair Outdoors Smith ah nice! Shame about the dodgy skylight. The older daily’s are great though! No diesel particulate filter to worry about.
nice one fella
robert lee thank you my friend:)
Good luck man! I've got the same van as you just older.
Jacks_Vanlife Man that’s awesome! Is it a camper?
Matt Dixon trying to get it there yes! Check it out on Insta. Jacks_vanlife
Jacks_Vanlife Awesome mate, followed. Must catch you on the road sometime!
Matt Dixon deffo man! Or at a meet-up. 👍
What's the mileage? Good luck with the conversion! Look forward to following it.
Thank you! Mileage is 108K. “Nothing for these engines” as they say😁
Is this the Daily 35 / 50 or 70?
Are you still dealing with dpdr ?

Is it a 3.5T max load or higher?
It’s. 3.5 tonne max:)
Iveco McVanface obviously 🤣
Can you summarize the rest of your derealization recovery that you spoke about years ago?

Just refer to the Van as the "Mobile Shack" as I'm sure you are gonna go Mobile with the radio gear.
Carl M7CWN Haha yes, it will be used as that on occasion. Although primarily this may well be my home!

its category B or C ? its gross weight to 3.5?
Yes it’s rated at 3.5 tonne!
Name wise. How about Nessie 😂 ?
Haha I like it! Well it visited loch ness recently! So maybe😁
How about DXter as the name? John
Haha I like your thinking John!
Vectra the van
James Green a cause for confusion, but I like it!
