Scotland Van Adventure (Part 2)
Welcome to part 2!
Incase you missed part 1 ( ua-cam.com/video/v7tw4eLziP0/v-deo.html )In September 2020- my friend Theo and I decided we’d take our vans on a 10 day trip up to Scotland. The van was nowhere near finished (still isn’t). I had a folding mattress on the floor, which was good enough for me!
In this episode we continue our journey through Scotland, and the Isle of Skye.

I had a folding mattress on the floor, which was good enough for me! In this episode we make our way from Chester, England, to the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Enjoy! Ford KA Reborn Advert

A poor piss take of a ford advert. Shot and edited on iPhone. This video has no connection to Ford themselves. As you can tell, from how shit it is.

I remember cutting my first hole in my van. Very nerve racking 😂
So weird i jave just bought an iveco daily and own a Ka lol
Interesting. Am glad you liked Scotland. How about an update on your van build. Oh and please return to Scotland as often as you like and visit our many LOCHS not lakes 😉
Iveco McVanface obviously 🤣
Just came across your channel, good content but wondering when the next vid is coming. We have an iveco daily been all across Europe and all over Turkey in it. It's our best friend 😁
ivy for the van name
My 16 year old boy has been suffering with this for years people think he's just crazy he now doesn't want to leave his room or engage with anyone
Hope you’re doing well mate
has this van finished
Hey! Great van progress vids. Can I ask pls what u paid for wheel arch welding so I know a rough estimate for mine!
i have had it for 6 years. I became literally suicidal for a while after i got it because it never went away and i just gave up because NOTHING felt real. It felt like my vision changed and i cant see everything, it feels like im watching through a pipehole. Now im better though, ive learned to accept it because i cant find help anywhere. No doctor or therapist has understood me.
@dan_spores on Insta thanks for your nice comment, and I hope you get better soon too. What is the herbs or fungus meditation you're talking about? :)
Hey Matt I was just curious if you were still struggling with dpdr? Hope you feel better.
hey man do you still have depersonalization? Just wanted to check in and see how you were doing.
Are you over the dpdr now mate?
Excellent choice
Doubt my van would fit over that bridge. Looks like you had a great trip 👍
Only one way to find out! Thanks for the comment. It was a great trip. Your channel looks interesting, I shall do some watching!
How have ya been are ya out of the woods yet
Looks stunning, enjoyed coming along for the journey.
It really was. I’m glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching:)
I deal with the vision issues and people faces
Cant beat a bit of rice pudding 😂👍
I agree! Unless you burn it like we did, at which point it becomes absolutely disgusting. 😄😄
its category B or C ? its gross weight to 3.5?
Yes it’s rated at 3.5 tonne!
Really good videos dude! Keep at it, you're a natural 😊 I wish money would save itself faster so I can get my van! Haha
Thank you! That’s kind of you to say. Oh tell me about it! That’s the hardest part!
Look forward to the next - excellent 👍👏👏
Thanks Mark! Glad you enjoyed it:)
Looks fabulous 👍👏👏
Nice one Matt these have been absolutely brilliant to watch thanks for taking the time to upload them :) Glad you had a great time take care mate 👍
That’s really great to hear.. thanks Nick. Really appreciate your continued support. Had a great time- itching to be back out in the van somewhere. Pembrokeshire coast next I think!
Great video Matt hope you enjoyed Scotland its great to escape the every day rat race .
Thanks Carl! Yes I loved it. Agreed- escaping the chaos is very needed.
Do U still have depersonalization
Yes, to some extent. But it’s manageable. I just try to live as normal, and ignore it. I don’t notice it most of the time. Although it is there, i only become aware of it if I focus on it too much. I hope you’re okay!
@@mattdixon5299 what are your symptoms like nowadays? Do you still lack emotion, do your surroundings/loved ones still feel foreign, is your vision better, and how’s the brain fog?
Lovely little watch on the loo 👌
On another note, would you be willing to share a little advice? I’m looking at purchasing a lwb iveco myself & a little worried about the size however you make it look fairly comfortable to deal with. Also had a couple questions about what you’ve used to edit your video? I’ve never done it myself but felt this the most accessible opportunity to ask someone. Appreciate your help in advance 🙂👌
@@tobygraham8936 Hi mate! Glad you enjoyed the video from the throne😬. As for the Van- the LWB is fine to drive. Could take a bit of getting used to if you’ve not driven something long before. Just be aware of the length when turning corners etc. But it’s fine! Depends what you want it for, a MWB would be easier to park in places, and manoeuvre in certain scenarios. So think about what suits you best. The key with Iveco’s (and most vans) is rust. They’re plagued with it. Particularly around the rear arches/floorpans. It can be resolved, but it’s awkward at times. So do your best to find one with as little rust as possible! Rust is also common under the front arches, and in the engine bay, around the battery tray. So keep an eye out! I edited these on iMovie on my iPhone actually, although starting to use Lumafusion instead- much more can be done with that. iMovie is very limiting, but can work for basic stuff:)
@@mattdixon5299 ah mate you champion. Thanks so much for your advice & help! Rust rust rust, van cancer ey! One other question, how have you found it on fuel consumption? What does a full tank cost? Saw you record the fuel pump in your video but wasn’t sure if £56 was the full tank. Thanks again mate, really appreciate you taking the time to offer the help 🙏🙏 I’ll be waiting patiently for your next video 👌
@@tobygraham8936 Hi mate, no problem. Yes, the rust is the key part. Fuel consumption isn’t bad for a van this size! Mines the 2.3L diesel. If empty, it’ll do 36+mpg. Think I had close to 40mpg at times. With a bit of a load, it drops to nearer 28-32. Still not horrendous. A full tank is 70 litres I think, so on current UK prices. Probably £80-90 for a full tank.
@@mattdixon5299 very grateful for your help mate, hope you’re doing well 🌞
Great adventure. Skye is amazing. Great story telling to.
Ah thank you! Been keeping up with some of your videos too. Glad there’s someone who documents the local area- you do a great job. Thanks for the comment:)
this has to be on my list. great video
Yes you must! Would be a phenomenal haul up from your end of town! That would be the ultimate test for the Iveco. Do it!
@@mattdixon5299 your right, I’m doing Spain first, it’s literally half a miles driving to get there for me.... get the ferry of the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth then back on a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao..
Been there a few times, its loverly over there, nice pair of videos Mat...
Thanks Fred- it’s a fantastic place. I’ll be back as soon as possible. Glad you enjoyed:)
brilliant mat, i cant believe i had not seen your last 4 videos. the van is coming along well.
Thanks my friend! Haha don’t you worry- i’ve been shocking at uploading lately. I’m trying to get on it more consistently. I enjoy making the videos:) thanks for the support:)
👍🏻Looked fantastic. Just need to finnish the van.
Cheers Andy! Haha yes too right. This was some months ago- things have come on since then. But as you say, needs finishing!
@@mattdixon5299 Cool👍🏻👍🏻, look forward to seeing it mate. I have been tempted to have ago at one myself for a long while now but I just haven't got the confidence to do it.
Fantastic scenery. We love Scotland. You have done the trip the best way. Glad the wheel was ok. We have never been there, great to see.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I love the place too! I’d definitely recommend Skye!
We’ve just watched part 2 while eating our tea. Well done Matt from both of us 👍🏻 Looking forward to the: Northumberland, North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors editions 😁

Hey! Thanks Nick. Yes, the van was very bare bones on that trip. But it worked! Thanks for watching:)
Brilliant Matt. Those roads are so familiar. I am hoping to do the Skye traverse when lockdown is over - 7 nights of wild camping. Thanks so much for sharing the outdoors - a lot of us miss it terribly!!
Glad you enjoyed Tom. Sounds great! I’ll be out in my bivvi at the first opportunity too. Miss it badly.
Lovely video mate, can’t wait for part 2 👌
Ah thank you so much. I appreciate that. Part 2 tomorrow 🙂
How good is that?! Brilliant 😁 Well put together Matt. Looks like you had a great time. Well done both 👍🏻
Thanks Ian! It was a great trip. Taken a long time to get round to putting the video together mind you😄 Part 2 to follow tomorrow.
Iconic.
I’m glad you think that!
Great to see the notification ❤️
Ah thank you my friend!
Nice
If I was doing this, the first thing I would do, would be to give the van a full service and mechanical check over.
Good advice. I did- I did a full service and changed the cambelt etc.
@@mattdixon5299 Smart thinking.
i have been living with it for 5 years and i didn’t know what it was until a few days ago, this is crazy
I'll. Be watching with much glee and anticipation All the best 😀
