@tayscupojoe I didn't start of team Daenarys, but by the end, I got why she did it. She saved Jon's life twice beyond the wall. Even when Tyrion advised her not to go save them as it's dangerous for her. Then she saved him again when he went chasing after the Night King and got surrounded by wights. Jon caused her to lose a dragon, and then she and her dragons and her army were why Arya was able to get a chance to kill the Night King. Them all of a sudden, Tyrion went from being the smartest advisor to the dumbest. Almost as if he didn't want to do anything to harm his family. Sansa was the most manipulative she learned from Littlefinger that if she told Tyrion about Jon, that would cause chaos, and they would back Jon over her. If Daenarys was a horrible person she could have let the wights kill Jon when they surrounded him, but she saved him. Only for the people of the North to primarily praise Jon and Sansa to be talking reckless. As someone who was hiding down in the crypt.

I love Dany’s mad queen turn!! IDC!! It was perfect for the story imo.. The girl who’s father went mad who we grow to love, who is freeing the slaves, gets the army she needs. However when she gets to westeros you see that she isn’t trusted/accepted like she assumed she would be. Can’t trust her council like she used to. Finds out she isn’t the actual heir to the throne, her best friend is killed in front of her, AND finds out about a conspiracy against her. Also, I could be mistaken, but paranoia was a huge factor in what turned the mad king mad! So the fact it happens to his loving, free the slaves daughter, I love it!

The witch killed Dany’s child, because that way he could never become “the stallion that mounts the world.” A very reasonable motivation to abort him, and one that does not deserve punishment. Yet Dany agreed to the trade, so technically, Dany authorized the witch to take any life at all in exchange for Drago’s life. The Dothraki who raped her had no right to rape her. Te Dothraki who killed the man who baked her bread had no right to kill that baker. Did Dany burn any of those Dothraki for their crimes? For their murders? In no way should Danny have done what she did. But trying to understand her perspective for my own closure. Hear me out, she was born into the ruling family and we don't know anything about her early childhood. GOT started with her having to leave what she knew when her father, the Mad King was murdered. She was taken / escaped by basically being forced to merry, she had to survive hell and fight so many times just to stay alive. After the death of her brother, all she knew was that she was it, the last of her bloodline.
As she grew in strength , people loved and followed her because of what she did for them, rescuing them from the situation that their life had taken them to. Maybe we can count on one hand the number of people that ended up loving her unconditionally. For about 99 percent of the entire series people where telling her not to do this or that because it would mean that she was a bad person if she didn't do as they advised. Everyone had a part to play and contribute to what she became. I think if she just did what she wanted towards the middle of the series, we would've had a different ending.
Yes, many people would've died but not the amount at Kings Landing. But that's what war is and when is it the people's responsibility to not put themselves and their family in harms way? Why wouldn't you leave the city and remove yourself from that situation? When everyone is fighting the Night King, excluding Jamie, not one person thought to go on their own to help save mankind. Kings Landing carried on like nothing was going on and don't say that they didn't know. They all choose not to do their part.
Remember, this is from Danny's point of view. So when your Queen rages war by killing a dragon, Danny's closest ( like a sister at that point) female friend, not to mention countless of Danny's inner circle, what is left for her to do. All of Kings Landing became her enemies. They all choose to do nothing, they all choose to follow who they did, and they all choose to remain and live in Kings Landing.
Like I said, Danny should have never done what she did, but I understand way she did it. If she would've taken all three dragons and her armies and recaptured Kings Landing back in seasons 6 or early season 7, her outcome would've been much different. The biggest crime committed was how the writers ended the series.

The only reason that Tyrion becomes so terrible in choices over this series, is because they ran out of source material and they had to improvise. And yeah you can be sure they are terrible in improvising. It essentially translated in character assassination for more than one character. People always seem to think Daenerys snapping and burning people came out of nowhere. I guess on first watch its hard to pinpoint but there are numerous hints in many scenes that even way back in season 1 that showed she had a crazy rage within her and she was capable of being very irrational. If it wasn't for Jorah, Selmy, Missandei talking her out of doing things she would've burned down the red keep seasons prior. After losing her dragons and Missandei being murdered she finally lost it. Especially since all she's been working towards was the iron throne which she just found out the guy she loves is her nephew who has the better claim to her one goal. The people don't gravitate to her like they do to Jon. It all boiled up resulting to this. She said herself she wanted to break the wheel and she could rebuild the kingdom with people who accept her as the queen so she was gonna get to that iron throne no matter what. Daenerys was sympathetic to slaves because she basically was one under her brother and early on with Drogo and so she worked to free them. As long as she was getting her way she was calm and mild but anyone or anything that defied her she threatened them with violence. Remember that spice trader in Qarth as soon as he said i can't give you ships she threatened him and even before that at the gates of Qarth when they denied her entry for valid reasons she resorts to this rageful speech. I wasn't surprised at this ending because there was so much foreshadowing.

      @fordhouse8b 4 місяці тому

If by better claim you mean that Jon had a legitimate claim, and she did not, then yes. According to the basic rules of inheritance, Jon had the ONLY claim. As someone who claimed to desire to take back the throne for the Targaryen dynasty, the moment she found out Jon was the legitimate son of her oldest brother Rhaegar, she should have immediately bent the knee to him. Even before quartz she proved herself a cruel murderer. She burned the witch, when all the witch had done was to exact a perfectly reasonable revenge on the Khal who had burned her city and temple, massacred her people and friends, condoned the gang rape of her and countless other women, and enslaved the survivors. All actions he and the Dothraki committed with the ultimate goal of obtaining ships with which to Invade the Seven Kingdoms on behalf of his wife. Even before that, after she had almost been poisoned by the wine merchant, when Drogo made the speech about killing her enemies and raping their women, Dany looked at him like she was about to cream her panties (assuming women wear panties in that world).

(They appeared when the children & the 1st men were in the middle of agreement to ceasefire, the children didn't create them, the long night is highly involved with "empire of dawn" in essos so it happened not only in westorous but essos,so in each tribe & culture it might have its own version, for e.g. the dothraki's "stallion who mounts the world & the end of the world" might be their savage version of the "prince that was promised & the long night")
    >Cool theory is that "house dayne"{Arthur dayne's house} are descended from empire of dawn & migrated & settled in dorne when the empire collapsed due to the long night 1000s of years ago, & that they will play major part in the coming long night in the books

Jon didn't betray Dany either, why should he keep a bastard name just because he doesn't want to rule. That's unfair, he has a hard life due to being named Snow.

After this episode aired, I was still trying not to condemn Dany. I thought there was a slim chance either Bran warged into Drogon and controlled him, or Drogon acted on his own behalf to avenge his brother. What's a 110 pound Dany going to do if Drogon decided to go rogue?

I’ll say this the whole mad queen thing was not in the initial plans for danys story especially when the showrunners didn’t really know where to take her character but they already changed her entire character from the beginning in the books she’s not someone with a temper she actually listens and is very precise on her decisions. Yes dany had some dark moments but when her whole arc is about protecting women and children and to see that stupid turn was just an atrocious thing. D&d say it’s “subverting expectations “ but it’s just an excuse for their terrible writing and on top of that the original script Emilia read had Cersei have a hidden thing of wildfire near the red keep which is why she locked the people of kings landing there because she was willing to sacrifice them and dany accidentally burns the red keep which causes a chain reaction.

They didn’t get her character tbh and they certainly had favorites. As a book reader it was so infuriating how much they degraded her character just to make Jon’s story better because after Arya kills the night king Jon’s story went nowhere and Tyrion basically is a traitor you can’t side with dany and protect your siblings at the same time when it comes to war. Then they wanted to force a narrative that Sansa and Arya can see the crazy and when asked about why they are hostile towards dany their answer was “because she’s beautiful and she took their brother.” It was very sexist and basic especially with what they did to brienne crying over Jamie like that and ruining his arc by having him go back to Cersei 😒 the fact that people defend this terrible season just lets me know that you didn’t really understand the characters just like how d&d thought they did. No wonder the author distanced himself from the show because they ruined everything

    • @ACinemafanatic

In the script she does go to the red keep even Emilia said it but when she does Cersei had a cache of wildfire stored in order to make dany look bad but it caused a chain reaction to go off in the city that’s also why we didn’t see dany on drogon majority of the time because she wasn’t the one killing everyone

@@ACinemafanatic I've never really been the biggest fan of Dany even in the books but they definitely ruined her character this season as they did with "others". Arya should've died at least "4 times" in this episode but instead d&d turned her into a immortal superhero, Cersei who's been here since episode 1 and has been one of my faves to have her die by bricks was pathetic.... I wanted to see more drama and interactions/conflict with her and Daenerys also that is why they needed another two seasons like GRRM and HBO wanted, I agree this season was just overall really poor.

Loved it. I’m glad she did it. They were always going to betray Danny anyway. Sansa is another little finger. Her and Varys were purposely sabotaging her. Literally tried poisoning her. And did everything they could to spread the news about John being a Targaryen. Sansa would never have stopped. Especially if Danny didn’t let the north be independent. She lost everything and everyone left was drifting away from her. And Tyrion cared more about his family than being a good hand.
I just wish Danny would have been able to wipe out Winterfel before she was murdered.
