It was probably just a stupid rumor because it sounds so awesome. But I have heard talk of a spin-off which gives us Jon Snow's story after he goes North permanently.
And the reason it stuck with me is because it's specifically mentioned the very first theory that I came up with after I watched this episode.
I predict that Drogon snatched Danny up for a specific reason. He is going to fly her straight back to Daario Naharis and he will get the ole red witches to pray her back to life. Then she comes back as a true Dragon Queen VILLAIN against Westeros and the King in the North who killed her.
Then BOTH will have died with a knife to the heart.

@@timothycorrell2333right but........Bran being King is INSULTINGLY ridiculous. Most of season 8 was disrespectfully lazily done. But that was a direct intended jab at us. Like we will forget prior episodes or something.
"I cant be Lord of Winterfell. I CAN NEVER BE LORD OF ANYTHING IM THE THREE EYED RAVEN NOW."
      4 episodes later
"Why do you think I came all this way?" 🙄
Its also insulting they didnt play out the coolest things they had set up. Like the FACT that at some point the plan was to reveal that Arya in Winterfell is actually the Waif. Who DID kill Arya in the dark in Braavos. And the even more obvious FACT that Tyrion is in fact exactly what Tywin always said.....not his son. It is expressed over and over that Tywin left the service of the mad King because neither of them could stand to be around the other. The king no longer trusted him.
And I am fairly certain the reason the king was worried about it is because tywin found out that his wife was cheating with the king. Which would make him Is very close in age with Rhagar possibly even older. But a bastard so not in the succession for king. But half Targaryan......now......in that whole show. Who is the ONLY person that physically interacted with the grown dragons, without Dany or John there to allow it? Yep.....Tyrion talked to them, gave them that adorable story of asking for a dragon on his name day, and unchained them both. All alone, and they had never even seen him before.
That little badass had Targaryen blood.

Brienne's emotional scene of writing Jaime's deeds, by far the best redeeming moment in the entire episode, literally steals the show's ending. An otherwise ending episode with so many bad conclusions. (especially with how it ends with Bran and Jon) Damn.

    • @SerbAtheist
      @SerbAtheist 7 місяців тому +1

What bad conclusion? The realm is at peace, they have a wise king and a council that will do more than just jockey for power. The very composition of the council is indicative of more opportunity for the common folk to elevate their station in life. The Night's Watch will now help wildlings instead of fight them. Once barbaric savages are now casually strolling along the KL pier and getting used to city life. Grey Worm and the Unsullied will finally be the agents in their own story and life instead of being someone else's pawns.
So many small and not so small details are indicative of a world that is slowly but surely exiting the savagery and barbarism of the Middle Ages.

The really cool part about the ending that a lot of people missed, is the fact that tyrion is basically the king now since he’s the hand and bran is more interested in warging than ruling. Tyrion will fix all the destruction he helped bring to kings landing. And maybe the histories will or won’t remember him. But either way, democracy moved forwards some, even if it’s only an oligarchy. It’s better for the smallfolk overall after so much loss.

Season 7 episode 5 when Jon left and the lords were talking bad about Jon and Arya was in the back watching Sansa listening to the lords. Arya said you need to please these lords because if Jon doesn’t come back you will need their support. Sansa said how could you think such a thing. Arya said you thinking about it now. You don’t want to but the thought just don’t go away. Remember that Arya learned from Jaden Hagar how to lead when people were lying. She knew Sansa always wanted to be queen even if it meant Jon not being around.

    • @1975jamrock
      @1975jamrock 7 місяців тому

@tayscupojoe Remember that the question of why Sansa didn't tell Jon about sending a letter to the Vale for help is still unanswered. There was no reason 6 tell Jon. Like none if she had told him he would have waited to attack. So the logical reason is she knew Jon would attack and not have enough men and would have been defeated, and the Army of the Vale would come in and destroy the remaining soldiers of the Boltons and she would be named Lady of the North and eventually queen of the north.

    • @1975jamrock
      @1975jamrock 7 місяців тому

@tayscupojoe if Jon repeatedly told everyone from Sansa to Varys to anyone who would listen, why do you think Sansa would still tell Tyrion and Varys learned from Tyrion about Jon's claim? She knew the chaos it would cause between Jon and Daenarys, and she knew the North where Daenarys is in would always back Jon over Daenarys. Even though he said multiple times, he didn't want it. Littlefinger told her to play all scenarios in her head when she is planning and assumed the worst. So she will never be surprised. One of Littlefingers' famous quotes, "Chaos is a ladder"

I don't get the bran hate, he was quite interesting character as the new three-eyed raven and it made sense to make him the king as he was the best choice because of his abilities. Jon never wanted to be king and wouldn't be happy on the throne. And sending him to the night watch wasn't a bad choice, he did kill the queen so there had to be some repercussions for that. Besides, Bran was actually setting him free since the night watch doesn't exist anymore anyway and he ended up leaving beyond the wall with the wildings and will live among them where he feels he belongs and will likely become the new king beyond the wall and I think Bran knew this since he knows everything. The last scene was so epic.

    • @jayhildenbrand7237
      @jayhildenbrand7237 7 місяців тому +6

The hate comes from that most people, 99% never had Bran on the Iron Throne. It came as a shock, once announced (I raise my hand on that one). But, if you pieced together things by the end of the episode ( I figured it out by then), most people would agree with you. Some needed days to figure out how George went about things for the remaining main characters. If one paid attention to the pilot episode, George put the easier puzzle pieces into their proper slot, as to what those characters coveted & see what he had left. My conclusion was that Bran was the last puzzle piece. In the pilot episode, he was the most in awe of seeing the king coming to Winterfell. He was also being trained to lead. I also think George purposely mirrored Bran's character with Charles Xavier. A humble leader, with a vast mind that was also wheelchair bound because something happened to him. Those that couldn't come to grips with Bran being on the Iron Throne, should of blamed George. George was still in the mix in season 5, where they gave Bran the season off. He could of been inserted a little more that season for character development. Those that have issues of Jon not being on the Iron Throne or Dani inexplicably going mad, didn't quite pay attention to the show for the right reasons, letting the show tell you the story. Too many of them thought they were the screenwriters.

another reason the show feels different after season 5 and 6 is because they reached the end of where the books are written, not to say they didn’t know how the show was gonna end, but because the show cuts story lines and characters that are in the book early in the seasons, at the end they had to combine side stories into the characters we know, the show makes it feel like it’s out of left field or we didn’t get to see how these things developed and it’s because we really didn’t get into it as the episodes were premiering. Tay if you’re into reading or listening to audio books i’d definitely recommend them! and the Alt Shift X channel does great content on the entire universe so it would be cool to check that out even if you don’t put out reactions to them.

So many storylines had no conclusion.
Who is now lord of Casterly Rock? Who is now lord of the Twin ?
Who was "the prince that was promised" ?
Will the nobility of the Stormlands accept Gendry as their lord Paramount, just because Daenerys legitimized him ? Accepting him as Lord of Storm's end is basically accepting Dany as queen. Same goes for Bronn in Highgargen, hard to imagine the Florents accepting him as overlord.
How is Sam grand Maester? How is he even Maester? He never graduated from the Citadel.
Is Daario still ruling Meereen, or did the Masters retake the city? We never got a status update from Meereen after Dany left Essos.
In there a new High Septon ? We never heard of the faith of the Seven again after 6x10.

Here's a few more to add to your list of nonsense that I put together in two minutes:
Was Winterfell being rebuilt? Did the remaining King's Landing citizens have lung issues for the rest of their lives? When Greyworm arrives at Naath, will they take his word that the Unsullied came their to protect them? Who is the new leader of the Dothraki? Will Jaquen show up in King's Landing or Winterfell to claim a reward for training Arya?

      1) Tyrion
      2) Whoever captured the castle, as well as the poor defenseless girls still living in it.
      3) John. Prophecy was fulfilled when he killed the one he loved, Dany, to save the world from terrible evil, also Dany.
      4) Both the Reach and the Stormlands are severely depleted and weakened from all the wars. Do you think they'd be in a position to complain much about who leads them?
      5) He is a Grand Maester because he applied his knowledge to help save the world while the entire Citadel politely twiddled their thumbs, showing it to be a useless and hollow institution.
      6) In all likelihood Daario is still ruling Mereen, and with the news of Dany permanently gone, is probably delighted of having his power permanently unchallenged with the help of the cult of Dany.
      7) What do you think? Will the new government be thrilled to reinstall a religious order which terrorized KL and nearly brought ruin to the city?

It was George's ending for all the lead characters, especially Bran. There were hints early on & in the pilot episode. George was quite happy to be present at the Emmy Awards, when they collected Best Drama Award for season 8, for the 4th consecutive season & the only 4 they won. Where they said backstage, that George always had Bran on the Iron Throne. The biggest issue viewers had with the ending. GOT was his baby, he got paid millions, what exactly became a bigger priority for him to not complete his job? At season 5, George was still in the mix, why did they give Bran the season off? He should be ashamed of himself for not finishing his books. He really needed over 10 years? D&D got tired of waiting around for him. He left hundreds of staff in limbo. How exactly do you prepare for an upcoming season, when there are no books to follow? D&D did the right thing, they took control, because George became a lazy toad. To me, the 20 best consecutive episodes of GOT started at season 6 & finished at the Long Night. All episodes that George had no book material for, but he already built the platform as to where his train would arrive to its final stop. Now he's rewriting his own ending, going on 4 years now, because some people disliked his ending.

I almost forgot how silly that sequence in the throne room was. Drogon burns the throne, driving home the theme that the pursuit of power corrupts even those initially pure of heart. Then "lol fukit, bran is king anyway". Best part is that since Bran can't have kids, another succession crisis is almost guaranteed as soon as he dies LMAO

Well tbf what they set up at the end was at least better than the succession system they had in place. Multiple higher ups from different parts of the kingdom came into agreement to choose bran. When he dies that system is still in place. Higher ups will need to CHOOSE again which is at least a step in the right direction rather than just having an heir (we all know how bad that system is)

I was heartbroken for Jon, he deserves to be king and so much more happiness..but was happy he was in the true north with Ghost and Tormund, exactly where he wanted to be, he's clearly now the King beyond the wall. The starks have taken over everywhere do love that part..but also heartbroken again that they've all separated again. And we never got to see Nymeria, we were robbed abit..think we did need 10 episodes this season.
Jon still to me is clearly the prince who was promised. Hes always protected the realm without ever wanting power or things in return. He united everyone to defeat the dead and even encouraged Arya's warrior side and training. Jon is also the reason Arya came back to Winterfell. Everyone had their part to play big and small, just a shame D&D had to rush things so much.
Jon is finally free now, away from all the politics he hated and struggled with. Going beyond the wall with Ghost and people who love him regardless of his name. So i was happier in the end, knowing Jon was actually being set free.

Arya told Sansa that Sansa wouldn’t mind if Jon didn’t come back. Arya told Sansa that Sansa didn’t want Jon to come back that she could help herself from thinking the way she thought. It's not surprising the first and second half of the show are so different in quality. The first four seasons are based on the first three books which are great. Books 4 and 5 are totally unfilmable unless you cut a ton out which they did, but they left some of the best parts out and then the last three seasons D&D just made shit up. A lot of plotlines deviate from where they were heading in the books.

The books & show are 2 different things, in many cases. If George was so concerned he should of finished the next book in time for season 6. He had 8 years. He got paid a boat load of $. What became a bigger priority for him, that he couldn't finish? Do you understand that hundreds of people were working on the show & that they were in limbo on how to plan things? In a GOT panel, George was already panicking that D&D would pass him by in the show, this is after they finished shooting season 3. The guy is a lazy toad. In my POV, the 20 best consecutive episodes of GOT started at the start of season 6, all episodes that had no book material against. 4 of the top 6, including the top 2, GOT episodes with the best raw average rating by many thousands of voters on IMDB, came from season 6 & 7. The Long Night had the 4th most "10" of "10 votes among all GOT episodes. GOT won Best Drama Emmy from seasons 5-8, the only 4 they won for that category, where George was all too happy to be present to collect it. We learn backstage that George had Bran on the Iron Throne before D&D got the job. An issue with many viewers having Bran on the Iron Throne. Book readers always compare the show with an unfinished book. 95% of the remaining GOT audience just watch & get entertained. Got is ranked #2, TV show of all time on IMDB, what is George's books ranked among all books? You have a right to your opinion, I just laid out some facts.

When the GoT ending so bad you make your own: for the show NOT the books by going by some of the guidelines they set up while changing some things that imo are better here are 6 points.
1.I would change Bran`s actor completely in the later seasons, kid Bran`s actor fit the role but later it felt like it could have been played better by somebody else or maybe it was just the script and also i wouldn`t make Bran this robot type character that is dry AF.
Would have made Bran able to warg into dragons a call back to the earlier seasons when it was said to him that he will never walk again but he would fly, it would have done his character more justice and make Bran who is a special warg ,the force of nature that wargs were in legends and in the books, like spliting the earth, causing floods for example make Bran more of an important and epic character like John.
2.The whole let`s bring proof to Cersei plot would be scraped as it served no purpose and it kinda made no logical sense considering the lvl of urgency and threat also i don`t see any characters going to those lenghts just to conveinvce Cersei ,either they would just atack kings landing and winner takes all or they would go to winterfelll with or without the lannisters, so i would just write the latter that Jon convinces Danny they send an invitation to the Lannisters to join , they don`t reply, or tells them to go F themselves which this would later enrage and turn Danny mad given her sacrifices.
3.From episode 3 the long night , i would have made that a horror episode in which they fight a good fight kill some WW, but eventually they just can`t keep up with the army of the dead mantaining it`s numbers ,while the army of the living keeps getting smaller and so they start a retreat under the winterfell crypt which in the books are long tunnels that lead to other places or possible other exits to the surface, Bran would tell of them to Jon and to Danny prior to the fight as a last resort and the army would retreat that way if they were losing ,some major characters here would lose they`re lives making the escape either protecting someone or stalling the WW, like Theon, Jorah , Greywrm,Missandei and Melisandre, this would fuel Danny`s rage towards Cersei and she would start putting the blame for her people`s deaths on the Lannisters in King`s landing for not answering the call to unite under a common threat to fight the apocalypse .They would reach the docks where they would embark their ships in the neraby town ports there.
3.Time passes and now the army of the dead advanced south to king`s landing , the battle begins with the dead begin crawling on the walls the gates are blown open by the Nigh King on his dragon ,Cersei along with Jaime leading the army use some of the houses and towers,or streets strategically placed filled with wildfire, blowing them up as they retreat and as such parts of the city become blocked off, and their forces have some barriers from some of the ruble and fire which allows for the Lannister forces to fall back and regroup, after some time from the sea Danny`s forces land joining the fight, Bran and Sansa would be on the ships Bran using his warg powers from there and because magic has a cost that would play a part later , Jon and Danny would ride their respective dragons into battle, while the forces below fight the army of the dead, Arya has only one objective to kill Cersei to complete her list of revenge, however Arya isn`t the only one out for revenge Danny wants some too.
    4. As the fighting goes on eventually Jon is knocked off his dragon by Euron from a ballista tower who saw some of his forces getting burnt alive by Danny ,and so Jon fights on the ground while Bran asumes control of the dragon ,Danny burns indiscriminatley concentrated areas of both the living and the dead where her forces weren`t present for her it was the perfect excuse to take some "revenge" for her loses at winterfell by taking out her rage on people, soldiers or not that stood by and decided to do nothing, eventually Jamie and Brienne meet on the batllefield fighting the dead back to back , other characters do the same like Tormund,Jon ,Euron ,The Hound, the Mountain, eventually the WW start again to gain the upper hand even though some of them died off, but the Night King is still around fighting Danny in the skies and is eventually brought down by Danny with Drogon and lands in the area near the red keep where Jon is.
They begin to fight,a couple of characters die but no after killing some WW, like Jamie ,Brienne,Tormund,Euron, the hound and the mountain enconter each other on the battlefield while killing the dead and have on final clash in which they both kill eachother, Jon fights valiantly but is eventually killed by the Nightking after an epic duel ,being overwhelmed by the Nightking and the surrounding dead, Danny enraged seeing Jon die, begins to burn and destroy the red keep and everthing and everyone living or dead that`s around ,Night king in the area near the red keep throws a spear which pirces Drogon killing him in the air falling on a nerby bell tower, Arya still inside searching for Cersei instead of atempting to save herself she would rather die for her quest for revenge , the building colapses killing Cersei, Aria under the ruble one of her hands is crushed, sees the night king killing Jon below near the red keep, she begins lunging at him from above he catches her curshing her other arm, Bran seeing these unfold from the controled dragon which has sustained fatal damage from fighting the dead ,controling the dragon has taken a toll on him as Sansa saw on the ship Bran began bleeding from his eyes, he wargs one last time into Jon who is at the Night kings feet, rising with his valerian sword stabing the night king who is off guard with his back turned who holds and is about to kill Arya and thus ending the apocalypse and saving Arya at the cost of his own life ,which now Bran finally understood what some of his last out of context visions were about his final moments.
5.Having lost everyone she cared about Dannerys goes mad with giref having sustained some injuries from the fall some to the head, having lost both Drogon and Jon not only does she view the people that were under Cersei as responsible in some way for how things got this far to the point where everyone was about to go extinct, but also having lost her dragons and having sustained some injuries she started feeling paranoid because her ace cards "the dragons "were gone , and her forces were no longer as numerous as they once were.
Tyrion witnessing the burnt and ash remains of people in the aftermath and hearing some of the statements Dannerys made after regarding her future plans, when she decided to hold a speech in front of the masses in king`s landing a couple of crossbows fire off one arrow finds Danny pircing her heart and succumbing to her injuries, a bunch of suspects were seen arrested and executed that were carrying crossbows however no one knows who`s killing shot was that took out Dannerys.
6.The ending :Sansa is queen in the north,Tyrion rules Casterly rock in the west,Gendry took on Storm`s end on the south east,Arya having both her hands crushed and unusable they serve as a constant reminder of what revenge took from her. She is now on a ship exploring the world free.
Who ended up sitting on the iron throne? No one , the red keep is all but destroyed like in the show, snow and ash sit on the throne ,the people left king`s landing and in time it became a cursed place similar to Harrenhal, in a sense it became a reminder of a time of when people couldn`t come together to unite to fight the apocalypse, and is a reminder of what everyone lost there also.
The seven kingdoms each became like it was before the conquest of Aegon, they each govern their respective kingdoms, and trade with one another.

The show is called : A game of Thrones, It's politics and survival and the Starks won.
Dani's end was hinted at since S1 onward, so were the Starks and Samwell AND Bran, Tyrion and his siblings.
Bran's ruling for Jon is: null and void once Jon crosses the Neck; 2. Bran gave Jon what he wanted under the guise of exile; 3. Sansa as Queen and Lady of Winterfell can free Jon and also name him Stark.
Jon can choose to stay beyond the wall as the de facto King beyond the wall.

Casual fans and Dany-stans got angry in S5. Apart from Dany's turn the second big sticking point was Cersei not getting the death she 'deserved.'
      Finally,
Fans who could get past all of this, but still expected some sort of a feel-good ending and a more conventional resolution of the show, such as you, got angry at Bran being king and Jon being exiled.

Also, the line "why do you think I came all this way?" implies Bran saw everything Dany was going to do in King's Landing and just... let it happen? So he could be king? How does that not make him on par with Cersei and all the other ppl who let millions die for the throne? ☠️
People who defend this ending make it seem like ppl only hate it cuz characters we liked (Dany or Jon or whoever) to varying degrees didn't get "happy endings". But no, it just straight up didn't make sense. So many plot holes and lapses in logic. But at least y'all are caught up, and House of the Dragon seems more promising so far.

What's stooopid is thnkn Jon saved Westeros whn it was Bran. He gav Arya Catspaw. What's stoopidis forcing a throne on Jon whn he doesn't want it. What's stooopid is thnkn Jon is at the wall whn u watched him leave the wall and he has a spin off.

Bran is the only one who makes sense, because he's the only human who isn't human. He is incorruptible. He can be swayed by absolutely nothing. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the entire point of this show is two fold: weapons of mass destruction can not be tolerated to exist, and absolute power corrupts absolutely - the poor ALWAYS suffer under absolute rule. That is why no one but the non-human can rule.
Regarding Jon to the Wall, and the Night's Watch, the wights and White Walkers were gone for thousands of years, but still the Night's Watch was there. And it was needed in the end. It seems stupid, but these circular endings are better than you might think. The ending locations are the same, but the _people_ are different. Jon ends up getting the very boyhood dream he wanted as a child. He gets exactly what he wanted, except in a way he could never have anticipated. Jon doesn't want to be king. And he always wanted to be a Man of the Night's Watch. Because he wanted to be a hero. And that's exactly what he is, and what he will be remembered as. And king? Yes. He is King Beyond the Wall.

I get how you feel, as on my first viewing, I was quite upset about Jon. This ending is the only thing that makes sense about Bran’s whole journey, to become the three-eyed raven. The idea is that he is not self-serving, and he knows about the history and mistakes of westeros. He isn’t emotional, impulsive, or power hungry. He is level-headed and without an ego. He can’t be manipulated. No one would have chosen him as their favorite character, but he is the most fair and safe ruler for Westeros, and ironically, Damy’s hoal of breaking the wheel is achieved only with him ruling. Jon was my favorite character, so it was hard to see his enfing. It took me some time to adjust to it, but Jon as king is a typical story ending, and not Game of Thrones. He is free now. They sent him to “the watch” basically to set him free of westeros, and he can now be in the real north. Also, the author told the, from season 2 that Bran would be king. That wasn’t their choice. I think the last two seasons were weird for people because so many characters are gone by then, that the world gets smaller. We have less of King’s Landing and less of the political intrigue that drew people in to the story. Dany is in westeros, so now everything is focused there. Cersei is the only main storyline in King’s Landing by that point. Varys is more on the side, and pulling less strings than he once did. Littlefinger is still manipulating, but just in Winterfell. There is no more Stannis, Margaery, High Septon, or all the other players of the game. We finally get the excitement of Jon being king of the north, only to have him leave right away to get Dany as an ally and forfeit the title. So where season 6 is a high point for characters like Jon and Dany, the following seasons are more about the downfall of it all leading up to the end. I thought there were some great episodes in season 7 and 8, but I definitely get that the vibe is different than the early ones, and enjoy the wider story of the first six seasons more. I think nine seasons would have been even better, with the red wedding capping off the early story, the finale pf season six capping off the second act, and then this part being told over three seasons (though the longer episodes might have equated that, I don’t know). With the pandemic, though, we would have waited ages. If you watch the tremendous amount of work people put in behind the scenes for the show, I also imagine that people needed it to wrap up so they could move on from such an intensive project, and the actors could go make their Marvel money. I really do understand the disappointment, as I felt similarly after my first viewing, and even after a second. It took some time, but I realized any other ending would ‘t have felt right for the tone of the story. It had to be bittersweet, and the secret king storyline culminating in a happily ever after is what we have already seen before. Jon is a good man, just as Ned was a good man. Both would have been eaten alive as kings. The author said he went into these stories thinking about what makes a good ruler. I guess the enlightened, all-knowing Bran was his answer.

Hey Taylor & Joel, so sorry this is the end of GOT for you. Loved watching you two & especially Joel’s reaction to you Taylor, how crazy you thought things went or didn’t go the you wanted. GRRM said the ending would be “bittersweet.” I see the “bitter,” but don’t know about the “sweet” part. Well, the good news is that we have HOTD coming. Looking forward to that. Have you seen Black Sails? I think you guys would like it. Very intriguing, good story & a lot of great characters. Great show, it’s my favorite after GOT & HOTD. YOU DID IT TAY!!! GLAD YOU ENJOYED THIS JOURNEY🔥🔥🔥
We can all agree the ending could've been done much better, and Jon DEFINITELY deserved better. But if you think about it, leaving with the wildlings made sense cuz being with them is when he was the happiest. Also, Drogon didn't burn the throne cuz he didn't want anyone to have. He burned it cuz he felt thats what got his momma killed. Her sick love and obsession was the very cause of her death- Not just Jon. Drogon knew it wasn't his fault. A lot of us felt Jon should've gotten the throne and been King- but i guess he's happier now without all that burden. As long as he's happy🙏🏽🙏🏽

the ending was great sorry, jon is a northman through and through and “the nights watch” isn’t a thing anymore so the punishment was just to appease the unsullied, he’s a free man living over the wall with the wildlings! and to be fair, bran’s story like in the show is side swept, in the books he’s so much more interesting. I definitely agree w tay about danys ending though it was pretty expected in an unexpected way. Overall, things were tied up nicely as much as people hate that it didn’t go on the way they wanted.

I remember the ending leaked and I thought it was fake. I thought it was a hilarious fake leak, but right when Tyrion started talking about stories I realized where it was going and that this was somehow real. I had a bunch of people over to watch it and I full on stood up and walked out of the room. Anyone suggesting a child that has no claim and no leadership experience is stupid. EVERYONE agreeing instantly to this child who is also a Stark taking the throne is absolutely insane. Oh and Asha Greyjoy watches Sansa get independence for the North without asking for independence for the Iron Islands?? Oh my God, 5 years later and this makes me just as mad.

How the hell did we go from the heights of Baelor, Blackwater, Battle of the Bastards, The Winds of Winter - and all the other amazing episodes I can't recall the name of offhand ... to THIS? If D&D wanted out, they should have stepped aside and let someone else take the reins.

Wow, very short sighted observations. Bitter. GOT was never about "Deserves." It was about what the remaining lead characters coveted. . And if someone paid attention to the pilot episode, it revealed what each remaining Stark coveted. The show always centered around the Starks, who got the majority of the screen time. If you look back, Jon, Arya & Sansa's puzzle pieces fit perfectly as to what they coveted. Which leaves Bran. Bran being king, was a shock value for most viewers. George had Bran being king before they even shot the pilot episode. It was Bran that was most in awe of the king coming to Winterfell. He was the one that was being taught on how to lead. Bran's character mirrored another famous fictional character, where George sort of borrowed a lot of the same traits, Professor X, Charles Xavier, the leader of the Xmen. A leader with a vast mind, confined to a wheel chair. One needs to be removed from the episode for a day or two, to look back & say that the ending made the most sense, if you actually paid attention. The show was never about "Deserves." Jon never coveted the Iron Throne, the people with the sour grapes, put him on it, to their detriment. Too many wannabe screenplay writers & not enough people tipping their hat to the best TV show ever made.
