I ended up doing a balance shaft delete after the previous owner left the balance shaft belt Without tension for god knows how long. Grenade’d my engine, bearings were gone.
Balance shaft belt is definitely a time bomb if you don’t know the history of the car.

Well my car broke down last night, bro in law is swearing that the lack of balance shafts has caused the issue…which I argue against. Having minor Rod Knock on a brand new rebuilt engine….
Sorry to hear. The only way the delete would have caused it is if the bearing wasn’t spun to block of the oil hole. That could cause low oil pressure and bearing failure. Assuming new oil, oil filter and the oil pan was cleaned beforehand.
@Rvajay I am have a problem finding the immobilizer box on a 1999 galant. I am trying to do an ECU swap in to an eclipse with same 4g64. But without immobilizer box it won't start. Would you happen to know the location of immobilizer box in the 1999 galant? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
