Excellent video! Thank you. I was having a hard time with Timing Belt A, and watching your video I learned some good tricks on how to hold the belt to make it easier, and also on how to use a pry bar to move the tensioner against the spring pressure.

I deleted the ballancers, too. My only worry was that I hoped the lower one doesn't power an old pump as well, or if the oil pressure isn't going to be lost due to balancing shafts being just filled with oil not rotating... Can someone share some light on it pls?

(i.e.Just prior to locking down the tensioner bolts) By turning the crankshaft clockwise and applying opposite pressure (anti clockwise) to the camshaft sprocket how does the belt tension increase by applying this action. Also is it nescessary to loosen the balance shaft tensioner if only the timing belt (Belt A) is being replaced.
I've learnt something about engine overheating. My a engine brought the oil warning light when the electric fan stopped working and I was wondering why and how they were connected now from your explanation I've got it . oil becomes thinner when its heated that's why I had the oil light show up.good video thanks

I replaced all oil seals of my delica 4D56 starwagon but I accidentally cranked the engine without the timing and balancer belts . When I tried to rotate the crank shaft manually to its mark, it does not complete a turn .... I turned the camshaft and found that the crankshaft can now turn 360. when I installed both belts , I double checked the markings and started the engine. ..I observed a different sound ... seems like a wilder engine sound....I shut it down immediately....Where did i go wrong....I badly need your advice mate.
@@jordinhowards5037 check your camshaft bearings and rocker arms see if any of them are cracked or broken another possibility is you might have a bemt valve.
Hey man been watching your videos the last 2 days, going to have a go at advancing my pump timing today, it’s really down on power, lots of blue smoke at idle and hard to start 😅
@@MrDIYer I adjusted it as far towards the motor as I could, it made a difference, more power and less idle smoke but it’s still not perfect so I’ve bought a new timing belt and going to check the timing when I’ve replaced the belt

Hi DIYer, am sorry this question is not related to the topic at hand but mine is on the cylinder head for 4D56T, in reference to the comment you made last time when I had blowby just after rebuilding my engine you advised that if the head is warped that I replace it. Why Can't one skim the head and still use it? Mine was skimmed twice before and it's got a very little warp which I think caused a coolant leak when I used 3notch metal head gasket.
Manual doesnt advice to reface the cylinder head for 4d56 But it can be done at least twice. Maybe even trice. Depending upon the machinist. Make sure the block is flat too. The block as well as th head mas both be perfectly flat

Sir how about mobil circulation if balancer is not rotating ? Does it make problem to mobil pressure to tappet and other parts or have to block the passage in balancer please advice .

I would check the camshaft and cambearing caps. I would check for the torque applied on the bearing caps too. Because if its too tight that would cause the cam difficult to rotate breaking the belt.
Hey Mr. DIYer. You rock btw. Looking to pickup a imported Pajero in the US with it being my first diesel. I worked on G54b Astron motors a good bit with my Starion and I know about the balancing shafts and the design of these blocks. I was wondering, is it ok to leave it in like you did? On the Starions, you remove them entirely. I haven't see just the belt/sprocket get removed by itself before like that. Thanks!
its been running without the belt since that video upload, just the belt removed but if you ask me i would so much prefer to have the balancers working.

Hello sir, thank you for explaining this video in such a clear way. I would like to share with you a problem that i have lately on my Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 TurboDiesel (1988). There is coming a big whinning noise from transmission i think. Whatever gear I go in, it whines like crazy expect for the 4th gear. Do you have any idea what may cause the problem. Thank you in advance, im looking forward to get an answer from you!
Just perform the process of elimination. Once you are sure the sound is being cause by the transmission, the only way to know whats causing the transmiision noise is to bring it down. It could be cause by the lining, synchronizers bearing etc.

If they are oil supply, you are supposed to rotate the bearings so you don’t lose oil pressure and supply oil where there is no more balance shaft.

Amazing video. It will save fuel to run with those shafts deleted. Not sure if it is a noticeable difference.

Make sure theres no play. And when you install the crankshaft pulley there should be no play too. Thats what the thick washer is for.

It could also be the through out bearing if it a stand shift trans!
