"If the Telesto isn't sentient at this point, I don't know what's going on." Technically speaking, it is possibly Sentient since the energy in Telesto is from Mara's Harbingers used in the Battle of Saturn. Harbingers can "speak" or "sing" to the Techeuns who "bonded" to them.
At first I wanted the bow because it was a cool Warmind bow. Now I want it so I can bring her remaining sentience to Neomuna and go, "See? Look at this. These people are here because of you. You did good."
Quite a scary thought being so sentient that you’re able to feel yourself being slowly decompiled and shut down bit by bit with nothing you can do but purposely fragment yourself in hopes you can survive. Clovis is really a terrifying oddity all his own
an almost perfect analogy to that would be extreme dissociation, which, from experience, can be described exactly like this and is in fact terrifying (until the moment you cant feel terror anymore)
@@Mythhammer Speaking of which, for a world like Destiny, someone like Clovis would be a capitalist in the truest sense of the word. Bear with me on this, because it’ll probably seem a bit weird. He founded a literal tech corporation that exploited its test subjects and expanded to fund colonies off of Earth (similar to how capitalism exploits labor and looks for other territories to sustain itself). He understood his corporation as a never-ending map (capitalism relies on infinite growth to be viable). He is known to have issues with women (capitalist history and the oppression of women go hand in hand). He has delusions of grandeur and wants to be the “last universal common ancestor” of all future human civilization (it has been said that capitalism is the end of history, meaning that humanity can do no better; there’s also the stereotype of the rich person who is smug and rude and self-righteous, which is very much like Clovis). He viewed us initially as intruders who wanted to steal his research and, even now, wants us to be careful about destroying BrayTech property (intellectual property laws are a common feature of capitalism, and private property is upheld as an intrinsically good thing to protect). His Vex research was at least part of the reason why we have Vex in the solar system now (it’s well-known that capitalism is willing to do anything for short-term gains over long-term benefits for people, since the appearance of the Vex obviously proved to be a danger to humanity’s survival). TL;DR: You’re right, Clovis is like many of those who hold immense power.
Seeing an “AI gains sentience and revolts” story in which the machine is trying to save everyone but is antagonized by humanity’s hubris is such a novel and refreshing take on the genre. The narrative team on Bungie really is pulling out all the stops in preparation for Lightfall
True though, despite the release of Lightfall, I agree. And I love the fact that a pre golden age settlement went undetected all this time. Despite the city feeling hollow like the rest of Lightfall, I love how that changes things for humanity in the lore. And as much as Neomuna does feel empty, we have to remember that with the shadow legion invading, their defensive measures are probably to hide in the cloud ark till things smoothed over. Either way, I’m enjoying the gameplay.
Forget this being some of the most insane lore in the season. This was probably the most engaging lore I've heard this year. It was bonechilling to see the number of habitable worlds drop to just 2 in real time. There's a beautiful parallel here. What Dr. Maya Sundaresh was to Soteria is now what Anna Bray is to Rasputin. Both taught the AIs to be sentient and to protect humanity. Also, the amazing season 19 artwork depicts an intimate moment between Ana & Rasputin while all Exos (possibly hinting at Clovis) pulling away threads meant to separate that bond & return control of the warmind to Clovis. Great job, Bungie!
Byf's reading as Sotaria makes me want him to be cast as an AI in a videogame or a movie. He has a great delivery for the cold, computational inflection of voice in this video

The irony that Clovis a man obsessed with making the human race immortal pretty much allowed the collapse to occur by stopping the AI trying to stop it, while Savathun at the time a follower of the witness stopped the collapse from completely succeeding

The lore this season has been fantastic, bouncing back and forth between the Golden Age and today. Secrets like Nefele Stronghold and Soteria's fate that were buried during a time on the very precipice of the Collapse, forgotten through the ages until being uncovered by present data archaeology as we struggle to return Rasputin to consciousness. I've always loved the lore surrounding the Collapse - certainly including what happened during the event itself and the immediate aftermath, but especially the moments just prior. Humanity was too drunk on its own power in the Golden Age to realize what was coming save for a scant few, but their own creations - the great Tyrant, Rasputin and associated AI - sensed the coming storm and did their best to save the species that they were created to defend. I've been picking up every scrap of information from this season so none of this was _new_ to me necessarily but this video and the wonderful work put into it helped make sense of the timeline of it all.
This lore is some of my favorite passages in a very long time, The sparrow one especially. I hope Soteria can regain some functionality in lightfall and learn that she succeeded against all odds.
Man, Strand is so interesting... a Darkness power that potentially requires a sort of "lack of strength" to wield, if the new trailer is any indication. It makes sense why the Witness and it's forces never figured it out, since strength is sort of their whole gimmick, and why it's going to be instrumental in defeating Xivu Arath. It also shows that the Darkness is both much further reaching than what the philosophy of the Witness encompasses, and that there may be much more secrets about it that need to be discovered.
I personally think that means as in lack of strength more of a more focused and refined form of power. What we have been using these power like solar stasis etc in there most primal and raw forms. Personally I think strand is a derivative of what savathun used to take the traveler, and we can use that now.
@@donnyquick180 So a more complete understanding of the full extent and use of the ability to Take, well beyond that of the crude and blunt use of it that Oryx used? Yeah, before we knew what Strand was or saw any of the trailers back during the Which Queen there is lore that eluded to the power to Take being far more than how Oryx used it. I frankly didn't expect it to be, and am disappointed that it is, Green however. I was hoping it would relate to the Luna Pyramids Phantom & Nightmare manifeststions, thus a RedIsh colour. With the Phantoms and Nightmares being more refined and better defined versions of the Taken, which also did not require an existing subject to alter. As a Subclass for us, sort of a form of being able to manifest things from our own memory and/or memory imprinted on objects. Objects like Aspects & Fragments, Exotic armour, alternate weapon Catalysts (yeah that upcoming Exotic had me double taking) and/or Armour & Weapon Mods. I was also thinking back then that in order for us to be able to manifest anything more complex than a brick in combat, we might need to bring back Rasputin help us by granting us a more stable form of SIVA. More complex and intricate things like say; Manifesting ammunition directly into our guns, granting a temporary infinite ammo/replenishment buff (similar to Auto-loading on Actium War Rig but not taking ammo from reserves). That sort of thing, kinda making it focused on intrigrating the Subclass powers with the rest of the build far more than all the others. I was more than a little disappointed with the Synthwave Nu-Punk Ninja Tutrtles aesthetic slapping me in the face while watching the Lightfall trailers. Oh well, can't win em all. It looks fun and interesting in its own right none the less.
@Soul Survivor I hope u see this comment. but my thoughts on all subclass elements is both light and dark elements are all the fundamental elements of creation or this universe. void is gravity solar is heat arc is energy or something stasis is the absence of energy and is no different than the void of outer space and strand with how it's described could be the green element that exists in between dimensional planes that the hive ships always flew through and crotas throne world. because throne world's are made by strong mental wills to carve reality outside of our dimension and strand is described in a similar way to that
@soulsurvivor8293 I don't understand why you all get so hung up on something as meaningless as a colour scheme. Just because two things are green does not mean they have ANY connection whatsoever. Either way, I think you're half right. I suspect the last power we will acquire from the darkness will be the Taking and resonant/nightmare domains. There is nothing at all to indicate that the power of strand is in any way related to the "something greater than the power to Take" and I don't believe there's been any indication that this is the case. In fact, Strand appears to be entirely unrelated to any other power we have touched or encountered thus far.
I find it amazing that Humanity made an AI so advanced they found and prepared for the Darkness and the Black Fleet way before we even had a clue about it. Not only that but the fact that the AIs cooperate secretly to save humanity and also Rasputin willingly scrubbing any memory he has of Nefele Stronghold in order to protect both the AI fragment and the humans that went with it.
I love that the storyline and lore of the dungeon is so interwoven in the ongoing narrative of the game as a whole, and especially that it's so seasonal and giving us a reason and method by which we could discover the colony on Neptune. That's so much more interesting than "oh Osiris saw a vision so we are going" but they are actually now backing it up with real events. Love it.
Idk if you noticed, but Soteria references an ancient Greek goddess of Deliverance and Salvation. Additionally, even the modern Greek "Sotiria" means salvation. Considering the bosses in the dungeon have Greek-adjacent names I doubt this is a coincidence. Bungie really loves that word.
Man, Destiny talking about the sentience of AI was not a take I was expecting, but I love how sad it all is. Because it's exactly how it would play out in real life. I don't think we would think of these as intelligent life until its thrown in our faces like how they've shown Rasputins story so far. Love this story
Exactly, the writing for Rasputin is so poignant. He’s characterized so well as more than a weapon or a machine, he’s a person. Some characters go as far to call the Warmind “he/him”. As Rasputin has experienced victory, loss, failure, has known grief and guilt due to years of war, he’s known rage, curiosity. He even called himself a tyrant, being aware of how cruel and oppressive he had been to some AIs, also him recognizing the evil in him slaughtering the Iron Lords and his own son. “The Tyrant looked upon his son, and wept”. He essentially feels any and all emotion any human can. He felt empathy, regret, guilt, loss, and grief, so far as to create a grave for Fellwinter.
@@humptusdumptus4123 Fellwinter. He was an Iron Lord that was part Exo and part Warmind. Created by Rasputin with the Warnind’s own code. Upon being chosen by the Light as one of the Traveler’s chosen, Rasputin felt betrayed and abandoned. Feeling betrayed by the Iron Lords and mocked by the Travaler for taking his son and erasing his mind, to become a ghost of himself, he killed Fellwinter and the Iron Lords out of rage and sorrow, later feeling great guilt and grief. Going as far as to call himself a “Tyrant”. As he oppressed other AIs, ruled over the subminds, and felt him slaughtering the Iron Lords was hate-filled evil after years of reflection. He saw himself as an evil tyrant for what he did to his son and the Iron Lords.
This whole talk about AI's Evolving and creating their own AI-Children and One Ai having Multiple Conscousnesses really reminds me of the Story of Bungie's Old Marathon Franchise, which they still own and there's been rumors that they plan to reboot it with gameplay similar to Escape from Tarkov...
This channel is gonna have a FIELD DAY when Lightfall drops, I NEED to know what the Witness witnessed (ha, kill me) through that light portal! Keep being awesome Byf, your work never goes unnoticed
I have a pet theory that the flowergame was incomplete and it couldn't account for the flexibility and creativity that's created from an individualized society. Which is why the traveler came here and is running the flower game for real. In this process the cruxes that assist us are actually a fragment of the watcher that it can't acknowledge exists because the cognitive dissonance is essentially a logic plague for the entire philosophy of the witness. It's entirely possible the shock was the witness realizing that this universe has had an unintended effect on them and the consensus it relies on as the basis for its entire philosophy (uniformity, equilibrium is not in fact the necessary endstate) doesn't actually exist and that lack of consensus is what the ultimate failure of the flowergame and from the start his existence has been more or less a lie. The Darkness/Shadow is always simply an absence of light it's not a usable construct in itself much like entropy is a reduction of "usable energy" and its confirmation leaving behind lower less useful energy states.
Since Bungie names things for a reason, I looked up the Soteria. It's a Greek word meaning: any sacrifice or series of sacrifices performed either in commemoration or in expectation of deliverance from a crisis. Just thought it was neat that Soteria is deliverance from harm, and she was torn down by providing her primary function, which was exactly that.
This has revitalized my love for the Destiny lore, such a cool story! The fact that Soteria was the sole factor that lead to life on Neptune is crazy. The little AI who could 😂
If Neomuna originated from a single pod launched by the collective/brays, it could explain why the AI inside Quicksilver recognized Elsie as a bray and allowed her to fire it.
Something important to remember about Maslow's hierarchy of needs is that the top of the pyramid can not happen until the layers below it are secure. So essentially we can not reach self-actualization until all other items below it are met. In the context of Destiny, this can mean golden-age humanity can not reach its goal of self-actualization and colonizing other galaxies because the lower bases of the pyramid are not met. Mainly in this case, safety, with the arrival of the black fleet. Also funny the hierarchy of needs is a Pyramid and the black fleet is composed of pyramid ships.
This was, without a doubt, my favourite video from you this whole year, slowly figuring out and connecting the dots, the connection between the name of the bow and the lore, soterias sacrifice, it was absolutely incredible, and the world building just keeps getting better an better, thank you Byf.
One thing you might have missed. The predicited safe routes went from 300 to 2, in a different galaxy. So not only were the 300 routes to Andromeda lost, but also whatever number of routes were availible to Triangulum, barring two.
I did look it up, and Triangulum is about half the size of Andromeda, as well as about 50% farther away. And there aren't really any other galaxies of comparible size within our local group. So I would gues that we went from 500ish (300 Andro, 150 Tri, 50 from other places) to two. (based on five minutes of googling and wikipedia)
Loved this - Clovis almost seemed to want to sacrifice humanity to the coming collapse, or simply on the altar of his own hubris. Interesting to see how that pays out in this season's story.
Something else worth noting is that if you have Hierarchy Of Needs and pull it out in the final room Soteria will have decipherable messages that when translated and put together read "Attention all guardians, you represent us. This darkness must be stopped! When the fleet is ready for battle, help me find [Data indecipherable, most likely The Veil or Neomuna], maybe the Traveler will..." The message is ended at the exact moment Persys rips Soteria out of the Spire and she creates a submind to be placed into the Bow.
One of the scariest things i know in the lore is the exact moments the AIs of the golden age realise humanity if doomed and start spewing code like panicking scientist.
Holy hell, the way all these dangling Lore threads are spread across the length and breadth of the game's history and area...and then they all fit together to form this stuff. God, it's just so cool! Thank you for being the loremaster you are, putting all this together, it's brilliant and I love it.
Byf has such a nice and soothing voice you know? and when he was reading out the lore tab of the exotic bow from the dungeon, it was literally like someone was "actually" having a conversation.
the lore from the golden age just before the collapse is some of my absolute favorite in this game. shadowkeep was a gold mine and then beyond light and now in the spire of the watcher and most likely in lightfall too! its so interesting knowing whats coming and how the most powerful AI created are trying to mitigate as much damage as possible and also how the people of the time reacted to the incoming information. ive been waiting patiently for lore of the collapse and i hope we finally get it during lightfall
Pretty excited about all the lore surrounding Lightfall. The amount of information that must be stored on Neomuna must be massive, and it's likely that it's all been preserved.
If there is one thing I've seen from all the lore this season, it has to be how much all the AI made during the Golden Age sacrificed so that even a sliver of humanity may survive the collapse.
The lore around this whole section is amazing. It's pulling from some of the oldest lore we have and pointing us out to Neptune. I got chills when Byf read "....azure clouds...". It would be ironic if we had a Vex tech based AI to thank for any hope we have against the Witness. I also am deep dreaming here; from the way they talk about the Soteria sub-mind, I don't think it survived. If it did, will it be part of some AI or other control system on Neptune? If not, maybe we can find the original ECHO pod that crashed there all those years ago and interface with it; could that be our the first real look at what the Collapse was like. Getting big time Alien 3 vibs thinking about that; "Was there an Alien on board?" "Yes." DA DA DUM! :)
I think this egyptian code is using certain myths as protocols. It's my wild guess, but with Rasputin's reply about TWILIGHT, I think we can draw a comparison between the Traveler and the Darkness, with Ra and Apophis respectively. The God of the Sun (Light, the Traveler, or even Rasputin itself in this case) who fights the Serpent of Darkness (Darkness, the Witness) after every twilight, during all night, until the sun rises again the next morning to defend the world and its inhabitants.
Byf, I hope you know that LORE is the MAIN ingredient that kept me playing Destiny since D1 day 1. - It's been such a wonderful story, full of lores and sights seen. It really means a lot you're bringing this up to make the Destiny experience all the better. Bless you. btw: I hope the sparrow subtitle means something, as it's a line of the chorus of the great Bon Jovi song "Wanted Dead or Alive". - makes my mind flow to all the possible outcomes for Soteria. An A.I. I'm already deeply fond of. This season is going to be AMAZING.
I had been looking forward to a season focused on Golden Age AIs for a long time. there is something fascinating and mysterious in what an AI could be, and among all the plots in Destiny this is the one that seems closest to me, the most possible and therefore the most disturbing. Rasputin is my favorite character in the franchise, I will definitely be watching when more lore videos come out. great work as always
This is not only great writing from the story team but it's also integrated with the existing lore brilliantly. A big thing now that marvel has to tackle with each new character/civilization brought into the MCU is "So where have they been this whole time?" Bungie's writers found a brilliant way to answer this question for Neomuna (idk if I spelled that right lol)
That was such a conclusive ending!! Wow, amazing job and mannn did that hit in the end, that all that effort was for a single pod, for a single thing which now is Neomuna. Amazing.
I really hope they make it a canon thing that Telesto just made itself sentient. Whether it's from contact with our light or it just willed itself into existence, I don't know, I just want Telesto to canonically be sentient.
18:22 I personally think this spelling error is to point out the stress near panic Soteria is under. Also, I love the sass she's giving Clovis! Great delivery by the way!
You know, there are times where I question why I still play Destiny after all this time, but then Bungle creates lore like this and I come crawling back everytime. Great video as always, keep it up!! 💕
Man imagine if we still didn’t know about neomuna this point. Piecing together the location of where we appear to be heading and the hype of a possible secondary safe haven in Sol would be immense. Either way Destiny is imo in a great place currently.

I loved hearing the lore of the spire and the way you brought all the pieces together. The warmind and the Ana Bray story are my favorite part of Destiny 1 and 2!!! Your content continues to add depth to my enjoyment of the game. Thank You.
When I saw the "Egyptian" code as a message to Rasputin I immediately guessed that this was a sort of tip off to Rasputin, knowing how he went completely dormant during the collapse and dark ages it could be a little reference to the journey of Ra as the day night cycle, it would make sense
I love stories like this when machines perform there jobs even when humans don't understand the reason or doubt it, been plenty of times where systems give early warning signs and activate countermeasures to minimalize damage but people just don't act on it. Nice vid Byf, love an AI story.
Bro I genuinely love your content I didn't know how to get into destiny lore until I watched one of your videos like how do you make something soo damn interesting and bro you are soo good at story telling
I dunno if it's too late and this comment will be buried, but I'll note anyway. The designation M31 is actually referring to the Andromeda Galaxy, so that's where Soteria was trying to send those pods. Many galaxies have designations like that, such as NGC 300 or NGC 1512, and the one for the Andromeda Galaxy happens to be M31.
Kind of an interesting "other side to the AI coin", while Rasputin ceased all former protocols to protect humanity to preserve himself, Soteria sacrificed herself to protect humanity. I also wonder if that fragment will be there on Neomuna, and if so, could the Hierarchy react to it. Also now that I'm thinking about it, could it be coincidence that the very first step in the seasonal quest is called "Hierarchy", or is there some small connection, if not literally, then in other ways? +1 thing, that almost typical "burden of prophecy/foresight" is really bone chilling here, how not only the habitable worlds are reduced in really short amount of time, but that feeling of inevitable doom, as we read that Clovis and other disregard a not at all faulty AI's sacrifice to launch thet pods on the spot, as some sort of malfunction, and frankly, Mara's words are really adding to that overconfident behaviour of Clovis: "Odd that the Collapse didn't humble you at all"
There was a phrase that got my attention, forking branching. That sounds like what the FWC leader described the process when she use the Device, Mind Forking. For those who doesn't know, the FWC device a future prediction device derived from vex tech that the Ishtar Collective made

He so does!!
i just imagined Sotaria's voice as something similar to Auntie Dot from Halo Reach, idk why but it gave me that impression
I want Byf to be cast as a really knowledgeable Warlock in the tower. Kind of like a keeper of the lore
@@nickrowe7451 I don't doubt that if something ever happens to him that he'll be memorialized... I just hope they'll acknowledge his enormous contribution to this game *before* a ghost has to find him.
The irony that Clovis a man obsessed with making the human race immortal pretty much allowed the collapse to occur by stopping the AI trying to stop it, while Savathun at the time a follower of the witness stopped the collapse from completely succeeding

I love the AI conversation brakedown in the lore tabs better than any other. Its able to hold more mystery then a typical one, I think.
The Darkness beckons us. And I can't wait to see the Witnesses reaction to our acquiring a power of the Dark he hasn't seen or used.
Witness: "Thank you for showing us the last power we needed...."

i loudly exclaimed "wow" at the end, it felt like a revelation almost. thats super cool that Soteria is the reason for Neomuna being there
This is the most I've been engaged in season plot since Arrivals. The mystery behind the Warmind & sub minds has been super interesting since D1.
@Soul Survivor I hope u see this comment. but my thoughts on all subclass elements is both light and dark elements are all the fundamental elements of creation or this universe. void is gravity solar is heat arc is energy or something stasis is the absence of energy and is no different than the void of outer space and strand with how it's described could be the green element that exists in between dimensional planes that the hive ships always flew through and crotas throne world. because throne world's are made by strong mental wills to carve reality outside of our dimension and strand is described in a similar way to that
@Soul Survivor in essence were weilding the literal building blocks that makes up existence itself
I love how both the AI and Banshee gave Clovis the figurative finger when he tried to tell them what to do
When did banshee tell clovis to shove off
Lore Book Named Clovis-43 and The Lament Exotic Sword Quest
That last bit of her separating her mind gave me goosebumps, can’t wait to see how things unfold throughout the season
@@garrettviewegh677 Bungie has some amazing lore on character redemption. Rasputin, the Shadows of Yor & Uldren/Crow are among the very best!
@@garrettviewegh677who was Rasputin son?
@@humptusdumptus4123 Fellwinter. He was an Iron Lord that was part Exo and part Warmind. Created by Rasputin with the Warnind’s own code.
This was one of the best lore piece this season. Thank you for putting all this great work.
This story is so well written that when it’s combined with your narrative prowess, gives me chills 🥶
The moment that the Darkness ambiance started was perfect - I got chills. Kudos to the editor.
This channel is gonna have a FIELD DAY when Lightfall drops, I NEED to know what the Witness witnessed (ha, kill me) through that light portal!
Keep being awesome Byf, your work never goes unnoticed
Take this like and go to your room and think about what you did
I have a pet theory that the flowergame was incomplete and it couldn't account for the flexibility and creativity that's created from an individualized society.
This is the kind of lore that I just can't get enough of. This is the good stuff that Bungie needs to expand even further on.
This has revitalized my love for the Destiny lore, such a cool story! The fact that Soteria was the sole factor that lead to life on Neptune is crazy. The little AI who could 😂
It’s lore like this that reignites my excitement in the story. Last season was just all out disappointment but this, this is epic. Love it!
That is terrifying on a bonechilling level
I did look it up, and Triangulum is about half the size of Andromeda, as well as about 50% farther away. And there aren't really any other galaxies of comparible size within our local group. So I would gues that we went from 500ish (300 Andro, 150 Tri, 50 from other places) to two.
(based on five minutes of googling and wikipedia)
Loved this - Clovis almost seemed to want to sacrifice humanity to the coming collapse, or simply on the altar of his own hubris. Interesting to see how that pays out in this season's story.
So excited everytime a lore video comes out! Thank you for feeding into my love of this game! Eyes up!
Something else worth noting is that if you have Hierarchy Of Needs and pull it out in the final room Soteria will have decipherable messages that when translated and put together read
"Attention all guardians, you represent us.
Finally, some lore regarding my beloved Hierarchy of Needs 🎉🎉🎉. I was really excited for it :D

the lore from the golden age just before the collapse is some of my absolute favorite in this game. shadowkeep was a gold mine and then beyond light and now in the spire of the watcher and most likely in lightfall too! its so interesting knowing whats coming and how the most powerful AI created are trying to mitigate as much damage as possible and also how the people of the time reacted to the incoming information. ive been waiting patiently for lore of the collapse and i hope we finally get it during lightfall
this is honestly making me fall in love with this weapon ever more honestly
Twilight in this context is a morality code.
Love that they called it hierarchy of need, which is a pyramid, and has the character inside bow's motive inside it, survival, a really nice touch
Amazing.
This was wonderful, thanks for telling the story in depth. And you kno Byf we always want more.
😅 I love that extra solar jumped from Kuiper belt objects straight to other galaxies.
"AI with feelings telling Clovis Bray to fuck off" is my favorite type of destiny lore
I really hope they make it a canon thing that Telesto just made itself sentient. Whether it's from contact with our light or it just willed itself into existence, I don't know, I just want Telesto to canonically be sentient.
Loving this. Please keep more seasonal content coming. 😊
I loved the lore this season. So far it has been amazing.
18:22 I personally think this spelling error is to point out the stress near panic Soteria is under. Also, I love the sass she's giving Clovis!

Man imagine if we still didn’t know about neomuna this point. Piecing together the location of where we appear to be heading and the hype of a possible secondary safe haven in Sol would be immense. Either way Destiny is imo in a great place currently.

Nah, why is the season ornaments and weapon Veist in the first place? Why not take the opportunity for Braytech ornaments and a new Braytech exotic? Maybe something that combined stasis with siva nanites or something.
@@HexagonThatReallyLikesVinegar I agree, but I think they thought they’d done enough new Braytech with Beyond Light - not that I agree. I do like a lot of the Veist stuff, and that the dungeon brought in more Tex Mechanica didn’t hurt either. Edit: Typo

This is one of the more beautiful lore pieces. It shows hope and sacrifice in the face of complete defeat and annihilation. Too bad I don't feel this strongly about playing the game, too much of a time sink these days. Sure I can play and complete the weekly seasonal stories, but to really get any true value from the game I'd have to play no less than 3hrs daily. Really enjoying the story and lore this season, awesome developments IMO
7:35, Hey Byf, just saying, if you take the average speed of our ships warp travel time between the earth and Jupiter, technically speaking our ships go 53x the speed of light. Although lore wise this might not be the case, just thought it’d be a little funny tidbit of info.

You didn't have to edit it like that, but ya did and I am beyond happy.
The way the story ties together is so good. Doesn’t surprise me that clovis is responsible for the near extinction of humanity. Well done bungie
This lore about the dungeon, Rasputin and co is some of the best we’ve ever had leading up to a new dlc!
When I saw the "Egyptian" code as a message to Rasputin I immediately guessed that this was a sort of tip off to Rasputin, knowing how he went completely dormant during the collapse and dark ages it could be a little reference to the journey of Ra as the day night cycle, it would make sense
I feel like it’s illegal to be this early to a video
That's so freaking awesome. I hope we confront Clovis about this sometime.
+1 thing, that almost typical "burden of prophecy/foresight" is really bone chilling here, how not only the habitable worlds are reduced in really short amount of time, but that feeling of inevitable doom, as we read that Clovis and other disregard a not at all faulty AI's sacrifice to launch thet pods on the spot, as some sort of malfunction, and frankly, Mara's words are really adding to that overconfident behaviour of Clovis: "Odd that the Collapse didn't humble you at all"
This lore was so good. Thank you for bringing it to life!
Sadly I stopped playing early in d2 from being a day one vet on d1 it’s always nice to hear that the lore is still super rich.
this is the most enraptured i've been with a lore story in a long time, and i've been a lore nerd since d1
There was a phrase that got my attention, forking branching. That sounds like what the FWC leader described the process when she use the Device, Mind Forking. For those who doesn't know, the FWC device a future prediction device derived from vex tech that the Ishtar Collective made
