Sounds great. In addition to the hood scoops, it (seems) like hood's nose dives down a bit compared to the Z06. I'm it's an optical illusion from the camo but would be interesting if there was a slight change in the body as well.
Another bizarre blend: Transcendent engineering and performance wrapped in the busiest, most chaotic design since the Pontiac Aztek. Unbelievably ugly.
I like the C8 Z06/ZR1 body, but I agree it would be better with cleaner lines and smaller rear end. @@iowa61

If No Flat Plane Crank then No interest for me.
I am pretty confident this car will have a flat plane crank in it regardless of the displacement. Hell if we wanted 850 hp 6.2 we could just go put some turbos or superchargers on our Stingray and save $150,000. Guarantee this will have a Flat Plane crank in it with a lower displacement than the LT6 🤞🏼

GM/Chevy always makes their performance cars reveals at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the month of May. I’m betting this will be this years Pace Car. Either way, I’ll be there to see if it’s ZR1 or Z06 yet again. 😊

please tell me you understand the 5.5L from the zo6 c8 is not a destroked 6.2 pushrod, it is a new overhead cam made specifically for the zo6 and it is confirmed to be the engine used in the twin turbo setup they,ve been testing
Is this a serious question? Of course I know that the 5.5 FLAT PLANE isn't a destroked 6.2. However, I don't see how Chevy would use that same engine with a twin turbo setup.
ZR1 needs a manual transmission option!

I’m pretty sure they could just change the pistons and injectors for lower compression and to handle boost ? Wouldn’t that be the fix ?
lower displacement is the fix to keep it as a flat plane.

The chassis should made out of carbon fiber monocoque and more carbon fiber components to reduce weight.
While I'd love to see that, it also increases cost quite a bit.

Exactly. I said up to 4 liters but 5.5 is too high to be considered reliable with forced induction.

Are you out of your mind ? I never say that.And the M Laren 4.0 twinturbo V8 have a flat plane cranckshaft to reach 8500 Rpm redline.That's High revs are impossible for crossplane V8.
At this point, Chevy is just pranking everyone, we won’t know until it’s here. That said, I think it will be a cross plane twin turbo version of LT6. Didn’t Ford do the same kinda thing with Voodoo to Predator/GT350 FPC NA 5.2 to GT500 CPC Supercharged 5.2?

Gonna be flat plane and turbos. Too much demand for that. They will figure it out. Can’t make a flat plan engine and leave it only in the Z06. Also a refresh is due! Inside and out.
A smaller displacement enables lighter internals and higher RPMs.... GM needs to work on their parts suppliers or start making parts in-house like they used to some forty years ago. GM is such a large organization that it would be an advantage to manufacture their own parts and not be held captive. They should have their own in-house carbon fiber, carbon ceramic brakes, and chips manufacturing. Even if one could afford these cars, they probably would not be able to buy one because of availability. Then if they found one, there is a great chance there is a ridiculous mark-up.

No. We still have the Zora model to go.
So many cars have active aero lol, Porsche RS/AMG/Lambo/and so many other cars.

The engineering is otherworldly. Corvette is once again the best car in the world factoring price and performance.
But the design is a mess beyond belief. Lines and angles colliding, A nose that looks like it was chopped by a giant ax. High beltline and doodads hanging off it everywhere. It looks as aerodynamic as a brick.
Can you imagine parking a brand new car back at the dealer where you bought it...because electronics problems? That's many baseline and ZO-6's... why would the zr-1 be any different. Amazing car. But completely Un-refined and un-reliable.
To all the Corvette Owners and Drivers good luck buying a C-8 Corvette whatever model you want!!! My C-7 ZO6 is enough for me, it’s paid for and it’s got very low mileage and in general it’s awesome!!! Driving a C-8 with 800 + hp is like carrying a pistol without a license to carry!!!
When are they going to announce specs they know them your customers are asking and getting tired of this and I myself is looking at a lambo because tired of the games.
The upcoming ZR1 coming to market with different trim levels is positive, but make no mistake it will be the ZTK package that is the UPCOMING 992 PORSCHE GT2RS FIGHTER. After recent events in the Z06 world regarding the FACT that they are technically DETUNED from the factory and GM told the complete truth that it was a McLaren 720s competitor IN A STRAIGHT LINE once the customer opened up the breathing of the car. I can only imagine the ZR1 to be a rocketship that very few people could even enjoy on track because its simply too fast. Whatever it is, the Y chassis C8 cars are absolutely destroying ALL other major sport car companies REGARDLESS OF PRICE.

You are WRONG about almost everything ...The REAL reason they are showing this off to the dealers is because GM expects massive pushback and hate over the pushrod engine in a $150,000 to $250,000 dollar car because that's Ferrari and Lamborghini money for a car that will have the exhaust sound of wet farts . No matter how much power it makes or it's lap times that car will FLOP ..That's GM's real fear
