    I realize this video is 4years old but time doesn't make a bit of difference in your teaching! I so enjoy your talents! Thank you!

    I've been watching your tutorials for years (from different accounts because I never remember passwords!) but I have to say -- I don't think you realize just how relaxing & amazing these are. They chill me out, & motivate me to pick up my brush again. - so thank you for that!

    great video. I think having the photo compare vs finished painting compare would help me at least. Do you have a video on which brushes you use? You talk about it briefly but not all the brushes.

    Lisa ma'am...I have one question and it would be rally helpful if you answer... You said not to use white directly for layers and keep it for the brightest highlights...my question sticks with black...should I put black directly over my layers if the shadows demand or shall I really avoid using raw black and always mix it with even a pinch of other dark shades

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  7 років тому +1

      Honestly, it just depends on the situation. It's rare I leave black alone. I usually glaze another color in with it or over it, but there are times I want straight black. You will need to experiment to figure out which will look best for the look you're going for :)

    Dear Miss Lachri Hello, I have just watched a few of your videos, and I really like your no nonsense approach to things. I am an aviation / vintage motorsports artist. Everything I do is watercolor. Now I am starting to use acrylics, and I have no problems with large areas but I cant seem to get fine details, such as lettering and insignias to work and this is very frustrating. When recently trying to do a white outline on some blue numbers, the paint either did not want to come off the 000 brush, or was so thin it was invisible. How can I get a crisp, fine , white flowing line with acrylic paint? The materials I have to use are: Winsor&Newton Titanium white, Golden matte medium, Golden retarder, and Golden high flow medium. Can you give a mix ratio of these materials that will give me the required results? (in the end, I used MRC Tamyia model car paint, it worked perfectly, but this obviously is not the way to go) Can you help? What am I doing wrong?

    What a beautiful painting, Lisa! I know my channel is based off fitness and I havent even uploaded that in a while but I want to start an art channel in the future! Ive been doing a lot of drawings lately with prismacolor pencils and definitely and having some breakage issues , especially with the white. I have went through 3 white pencils in 2 months! Im going to order some carandache and possibly polychromos by february. Ill be having surgery so ill need something to keep me busy while I recover. I have asked for liquitex basics for christmas and hopefully someone surprises me with them. My poor self has been desperately using craft paint for my paintings to practice and I hate how sometimes it can crack. Theyre not always bad but definitely different ! Haha. Have you heard of the new liquitex paint pens? I have a white and a black one and theyre pretty awesome! I think you should totally try those out and do a video on them. What is your opinion on using acrylics mixed over colored pencil for some final details? I know that would depend on the paper, obviously.

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  7 років тому +2

      I have one of the liquitex markers but it's not as practical as painting with a brush is for me. For using acrylics over colored pencil I NEVER recommend doing this. It's not archival. You're putting a waterbased product over a wax or oil based layer which means it will eventually flake or smudge off. You can put colored pencil over acrylics but I wouldn't recommend the other way around. That is like putting acrylics over oils.

      Lachri Fine Art oh thank u so MUCH! U saved me . I am working on a macaw right now and I'm looking for a better white to bring out highlights. I think I will see how the luminance white does.
