I really love that you have been putting the completed photo next to it while you work. I find it very helpful to see how you put into each layer. Sometimes I think I am done before I really should be.

What a great video. Lisa, I hope that you are feeling better. I really like how you included an image of the final piece while you were working. It really helped me break down and keep track of why you were doing certain techniques in certain areas. Please do it more often.

I love this fox painting. Such beautiful creatures and they are definitely one of my favourite animals. I'm always amazed by how life like your acrylic paintings are. I have seen loads of artists including yourself get amazing results with oils but not many get this level of detail with acrylic. I think it's a great medium, so it's really encouraging to see what can be done with them. I'm sorry you have been having problems with your health. I hope you are feeling better than you were and on the right track now. But try not to over do it in the meantime. X

Good to see you back Lisa. Love the fox and the background is really pleasing. Thanks for explaining how to use the colours in the background to achieve a fuzzy, yet 3 dimensional effect. The result (the fox is certainly to the fore) is so subtle it's stunning, if that makes sense? Take your time to get better, but it's so nice to have you back. 😀

Sorry you've not been well. And YES! You are missed when you don't post...but get better quick! Your quirky humor and amazing teaching skills are such a delight and you have an affirming way with your critiques- i think i speak for more than just myself when i say- we will take you however we can get you! Thanks for another fine video and -love the fox and showing how you used a less complicated pallet but went to town on the contrast of textures. I dont airbrush much but i think i can create a background similarly to bring my subjects into focus better. Thanks for all your hard work and attention to quality videos!

A wonderful painting Lisa! That fox is sooooo cute! 😍
This video also motivates me to keep on working on my own acrylic painting. I'm currently in one of those stages when you look at it and think "This will never look good." But like you always say "Keep layering" :)

Thank you so much for posting this video! It was very helpful. A few months ago I had my own fox painting in acrylic with an airbrushed background......and it was a disaster!! I actually painted over it in the end. I can see what I did wrong by watching your painting. Now I can try again! 😊🎨

    This is Fantastic!
Love the colours and the effect of the blending of two things in your painting, the background/foreground being one and then the fox, of course being the main subject. There's a gentle cohesiveness that's literally pleasing to look at. Just enough highlight to make the fox a separate entity without lifting from the canvas.
This would be such a soothing piece to have in a room for someone who stresses easily or if there's anxiety for another.
    Love this one Lisa, Bravo👏👏😊💞
****. Your live stream ideas are perfect!!
And with you being able to "just" live stream will be so much fun, and being able to share more with you will be hugely beneficial and a yaaaay day😄👍💞😊
Sooo happy to see you doing as well as you are, I pray your feeling as well as you appear😉💞💞😊😊 missed ya bunches😁😁💖

You seem to use raw sienna in a lot of your paintings. I remember you used it for a tiger specifically. Is that color more prevalent in nature, or is it more personal preference?

Nope, a liner brush can give me more control and even thinner lines than a ruling pen :)

The funny thing is, when I'm working on my own pieces, I almost always run into times when I think it's looking terrible, but I never think that harshly about other people's work. Also, when you edit your time-lapse videos, on average, how much do you speed up each clip? Yours always seem like the perfect speed and a lot of mine are actually too fast.

  • @warlock1052

I like a lot this painting .. the background explanation was very useful for me i'm still starting to use the airbrush in my painting and you help me to understand better some things ... maybe in your place i would have tried to make more contrast beetween the Fox and the background with some brighter colors but your Monochromatic/Natural look is nice too . I think also that we can't see well the painting in our monitors ... I use a Calibrated one on my Pc but i think that in real life it's even better . Goodluck with your work . You gain one more like on this video and a subscriber :) Bye

Beverly Bryce, Ooh! I'd like very much to listen to those! Where are they, please? I know this is going to sound kind of silly, but I love listening to Lisa's advice, instruction, stories, etc. @Lachri Fine Art, since you've been away, I realize how accustomed I've become to the channel, the streams and everything! I feel like I have a friend who's missing rather than simply some random person who posts their work on UA-cam. (I promise, I'm not creepy!) It's amazing to think of how many lives you must touch, & in joining the streams, the number of artists of various levels who enjoy what you do. You're amazing, Lisa! Thank you for being you. I really do hope your health begins to improve. My crohn's & Judas the Spine, (yes, I named it,) haven't been cooperative lately either. We do our best, one day at a time! Don't push it too much. @Beverley Bryce, I didn't mean to hijack your thread! We all need our Lisa "fix", lol! Is this colored pencil podcast here on UA-cam, or is it on a website? I did listen to one of them quite some time ago, and found it very enjoyable, especially while I was working! 🖤

The fox is fabulous but I do have one observation.
The nose on the fox's snout seems to be front straight on although the fox is facing a little to one side. Sometimes video distorts pictures a bit. Hopefully I'm not being super critical. I am just learning and find your videos most wonderful.
