This commercial startles me. Every time it comes on, the sounds make me think someone in my home is having trouble breathing. 😟

My Misophonia is triggered so bad by this commercial. It's always a mad dash to mute or fast forward.

I hate this commercial, it makes me feel that sign language without using Dove is practically impossible and that I shouldn't try. I was not a fan before, not a fan now.

Dove is doing the exact opposite of what you're doing. Turning up the deaf voices that want to be heard.

No I agree with you 💯. It drives me absolutely nuts. It’s not about the def people, it’s the production with the sound. It’s the worst.

I cannot express to you how much I hate this creepy commercial. It makes my skin crawl to hear it. I’m all for the people in the commercial and I think it’s great to have them but the ASMR angle is not for me. 😬

Tell us you're a bigot without TELLING us you're a bigot. This comment is ableist, audits, and flat out GROSS. Take some Deaf culture sensitivity training, and THINK ABOUT how your comments are being taken by the entire Deaf community.

    • @T2ahern
      @T2ahern Рік тому +8

@cynthiacrawford9315 People who suffer from misophonia are negatively affected by certain sounds. It does not mean they are bigots. Just stop the name calling, you're the one that needs sensitivity training.

@@cynthiacrawford9315 so, all I can gather from this is that maybe you are hearing impaired… and maybe you don’t know that the sound is so very obnoxiously pronounced by the production of the commercial. 🤷‍♀️
It bothers me a lot. I do have some sensory issues. But I suppose I do not to get to politely state that. Thank you for understanding me and for the compassion you have shown.

    • @heather368

@@T2ahern thank you, I thought I communicated that it wasn’t a dig at def people at all. Just that it really bothers me to hear it in the production of the sound being so amplified. Thought there would be a little more compassion from people who are in the auditory community. I wanted to see if there was anyone else out there like me.

wow fake corporate pandering really means THAT much to you?
here’s the truth- ‘dove’ does not care about you. they are a billion dollar company that is playing along with societal trends to get more money. do not salute them for being fake-inclusive. you’re what’s wrong with western society.. and not at all because of your disability. it’s because of your weak mentality.

hey. just wanted to say, nice of you hiring deaf actors, and seeing ASL on there. i don't watch television, so don't see the tv ads. my mother was deaf/post lingual, and my daugther was born deaf, no speach and communicates in asl. i don't know if she would see this, but good for you opening up jobs to people with other abilities. i never expected to read people's reactions to hearing deaf sounds as being so negative. interesting how exposure to people unlike yourselves is not equal across the board. ah well. lol

Not looking, when I first HEARD this commercial, I thought someone was eating and smacking or having trouble breathing. 🤦🏿‍♀️ Not trying to be a bish but did Dove have to have them making the startling sounds! Why not just let them sign! 🙄 Not sure if your production team has heard of misophonia....but it is a real condition as well!

The ignorance of some of these comments are appalling! This is the very reason that many deaf people silence their voices. Ridicule and hate spewed by ignorant people make deaf feel inferior to hearing.

It's pretty ridiculous that Dove is still trying to position themselves as being on the right side of the body image issue, when even the plus size models they use don't reflect what most women look like. Try putting a woman with stretch marks, patchy skin, and scars in your commercials. Trying to sell perfect looking skin is still part of the problem and wrinkles aren't the only "imperfection" of skin. Dove's Even Tone deodorant is part of that toxic mentality. Haven't you noticed that they turn off comments when they start to get too much negative feedback about their hypocrisy?

Please don't try to speak for "most women." "Most women" I know have "perfect looking skin" (in quotation marks because we all find imperfections in ourselves) on 95% of their bodies and there is nothing wrong with showing perfect looking skin. I personally had horrible teenager acne but seeing other people having perfect skin never made me feel bad about my skin. If something triggers you, you should work on those triggers within yourself.
