My favorite non-educational fishing channel BY FAR! This guy got me back into fishing after 15+ year hiatus. Been angling since I was 3-4 years old and just stopped when I graduated school. Now I'm 36 and fishing in local competitions and learning from a few of my local pros like Trey McKinney(Bassmaster AOY and he's my neighbor). Also have my own bigmouth bass and bluegill stocked pond that's about 20 years old now. Cheers brotha'!
It is so refreshing to see a great fisherman struggle with scum, weeds in the hooks, bird nest in the line, hooks stuck in the net, fish on getting tangled with the 2nd rod that was NOT put back in the proper place!! I thought that I was the only one with these problems! :)
Awesome video, really liked the short edits of you casting to different spots showing where you threw the lure. And what a beast Pike at the end hitting the lure with such force right on queue!

Tucked on the border of our properties is about 6 acres of the best bass fishing water I've ever been on. It's 100% government property, tree lined so it is hidden, no trespassing, and several recorded 5-pound and 6-pound largemouth caught and released.👍🏻🎣 It's a total cheat code!!!
I can't believe you fished that whole time with one of your rods hanging off the front of your Kayak. I just kept waiting for disaster, and then it came. Thank goodness you didn't break your rod. ..but then you just kept fishing with one of your rods hanging off the front. ??? You are definitely a braver man than I would be! ...That was a fun looking trip. You also showed some great dedication by waiting out a storm in your truck for hours. It sure did pay off. I took a hook through the top of my thumb trying to unhook another pike on this trip. Too much blood so I had to leave it out of the video though. I knew it was going to happen, he was hooked in an awkward spot where I couldn’t grab it and sure enough he thrashed and buried a hook in me. I should bring a lip gripper for those fish hooked in a tough spot.

That hookup around 7:00 min mark reminds me of one trip as I was at the end of a retrieve, just as I lifted it off the water, a huge pike launched straight out of the inky depths and into the boat like a missile, landing on my open tackle tray, and proceeding to thrash my lures everywhere including overboard (lucky all floaters/top waters) before I got the situation under control. Lol. No hook set, no net, just straight into the boat and full on mayhem. To this day, I'm convinced it was part of a plan to try and prevent me from catching him and all his buddies.....

Just landed a 33.2in 9.5 lb pike on a whopper plopper, bent one of the trebles. Top water is awesome, especially when they breach trying to grab it. Always enjoy your uploads and sharing your gear stats, thanks!

Great video! I live in the East of England, and in summer it’s very swampy. I use a Heddon Moss Boss, and a Norman Weed Walker, as many of the strikes on hollow frogs and toads don’t stay attached. The Moss Boss in particular is great and you can fish it in lots of different ways! Tight lines and keep making these great films !
Even in places that are heavily fished you just have to be willing to go to the launch that's a pain in the ass, or to go farther up the river than everyone else. Yesterday I hit up my favorite smallie river and it was loaded with anglers. I waded 2 miles up that baby and caught my nicest fish of the season and a whole lot of peace and quiet!

Those were some serious Northern Pike...that last one you caught was an absolute monster...very, very few anglers will ever catch a pike near that size & quality, & you're doing it with regularity, while making it look easy...I've fished the BWCA with a guide & it was by far the best fresh water fishing I've ever done...plus, I love to eat great tasting fresh water fish

Truly, watching this video makes you forget that you are not the one who is fishing. You become absorbed in what you are seeing and, for example, I was suffering if at the end that big pike got unhooked. Fortunately it was possible to hold and contemplate that huge and beautiful animal. A great morning of fishing that leaves you very happy on the trip back home.

literally have the same problem, my brother has caught nice bass on chatters. But i've never even had a fish even try one and that's with also using various sizes, colors etc

Nice fishing my friend...some nice Pike there, seems your pike are a bit smaller than what we catch over here (Ireland), big pike here would be from 20lb upwards (my personal best is 33lb) I've had a lot of fish in the 25lb range as well...........then again, we don't have your awesome Musky.
You definitely have some good hooks on the whopper plopper because pike are notorious for shaking a hook. Those were some fine ones. The green seed like green on top is called duck weed. When it gets cold most of it is completely eaten by waterfowl. This was a very enjoyable video Thanks 😊

I've gotten a pike maybe 4 times smaller than the smal one you got on this video and those scare the crap out of me.... I would not know what to do with a beast that size..... wow.... great video!!!!! thank you!!
beware the double triple hooks!! True story, just this week, strapped this bait on, crushed on the first cast, fish managed to get hooked in the mouth, and the tail (with the rear hooks). After dragging him in, got the tail hook out first. (mistake) after 2 seconds of the bass flopping around like a maniac, the fish is off, and I have one of the treble hooks embedded in the back of my right thumb, just behind the nail bed. Deep enough that the barb is buried!!! In my 55 years, never have I caught a hook until now. Panic, blood, band-aids, disinfectant, and everything I could muster to rip that out soon followed. I am now gun-shy of the plopper :(
I actually had that exact same thing happen on this trip! I had a third big pike about the size of that last one, but I left it out of the video because of the amount of blood. It was hooked in an awkward spot, thrashed, and buried one of those Plopper 110 hooks right behind my left thumbnail well past the barb. Luckily I always bring a side cutters when pike and muskie fishing so I clipped the split ring to detach from the fish before it went nuts, then yanked it out with my pliers. It was rough, I could feel it rip through my nail under the skin and now I have a hole in the nail where it’s growing in lol. It didn’t hurt until the adrenaline wore off, in the moment I just want that hook out of me.
Do you ever try the Berkley Choppo? I like the 105 size for Northern Illinois. I like the cheaper price and the hard plastic plopper tail of the Choppo.
I finally got a kayak. Except that it has an electric trolling motor. And a vee bottom. Oh, and it’s 19’ long. And has a 115hp outboard. But other than those things, it’s exactly like this one here. 😁

Well he lives in ND, it's pretty sparsley populated. You gotta be able to brave hard winters if you want to live in these places.

I use these in south Florida and catch a lot of peacock bass and snakeheads on it , good lure when there’s overcast and cloudy

Do you ever try the Berkley Choppo? I like the 105 size for Northern Illinois. I like the cheaper price and the hard plastic plopper tail of the Choppo.
I finally got a kayak. Except that it has an electric trolling motor. And a vee bottom. Oh, and it’s 19’ long. And has a 115hp outboard. But other than those things, it’s exactly like this one here. 😁

That 2nd fish was sick, you were picking up the lure, from the water, and that fish came out of the water, to bite it. Another good day of fishing.
Yeah I frame by framed it and the lure was a few inches out of the water when that fish hit!
