Thank you for this video! I have watched at least 10 others and tried different patterns. Yours is the first one that didn’t have complicated corners! Very easy to follow!
How many chains would you recommend for a slightly larger neckline? I’ve made another poncho using your video and it’s turned out beautifully but someone’s asked me for a larger neckline for them. I get all confused 😂 thank you
I started making this and when I try it on, it is all bunched up and won’t lay flat around the neck. I am wondering if I have been crocheting too tightly? Or do you think it will lay flat when it is finished? I am unsure if I should pull it out and try again 🤔
Hi Lauren, how far along did you get on it? The weight of a finished poncho pulls on the neckline a bit and may look better when finished. I can maybe give some better advice if I see what you mean, you can message me a photo of your project in IG@_illjay__
Because you are using smaller hook you will need more ch and more rows. Try any multiple of 6, maybe 72, or 78… you can always measure the chain and add or remove before starting.
Question: using a 6mm size hook would make a small- medium size? What about if i want to make a large size how many chains and what size hook should i use?
I used 80 chains for the neckline with a J/10 6.00MM hook and it worked out great! Just count 12 clusters on each side of the corners instead of 10. Divide your 80 chains by 2 to get 40 and mark your corners at 40 and 80.
I would consider myself an advanced crocheter and this video was so bad in the instructions. I had to frog back several times because you didn’t give specific details 😊
Best one I’ve found yet. The corners! This is the only way it should be done. Thank you
Awesome 🙌🏼🙌🏼 thank you!

Hi Cheryl! For a bigger neckline, chain any multiple of 6. I did 60 for this one but try 66 or 72.

I would like to make a Large to X-Lg. What size crochet hook should I use. And would I follow your pattern the same with a larger crochet hook? 😊
Using a larger hook is one way to make it bigger. You can also start with a wider neckline and continues with more rounds.

Same with me with the neck. I'm using a 6.5mm crochet hook. The neck is slightly tight. I'm pulling it loose and starting with another large hook.
Love my poncho, thank u!!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Well explained, thank you.
Thank you!
Very beautiful
Thank you!
Thank you ! Enjoy
Any advice on using yarn with a 4mm crochet hook. How many you would possibly chain to begin with?
Because you are using smaller hook you will need more ch and more rows. Try any multiple of 6, maybe 72, or 78… you can always measure the chain and add or remove before starting.
Very nice!
Thank you!
What size are you making?
Question: using a 6mm size hook would make a small- medium size? What about if i want to make a large size how many chains and what size hook should i use?
Keep the hook size the same. Start with another multiple of 6 for different sizes. The details and are in the written pattern :)
I used 80 chains for the neckline with a J/10 6.00MM hook and it worked out great! Just count 12 clusters on each side of the corners instead of 10. Divide your 80 chains by 2 to get 40 and mark your corners at 40 and 80.
