@@francisnorthwood7862 I purchased this bike as a canvas for customisation during the various lockdowns. Miles wise, about 1700, zero problems. Hoping to put some serious miles on it ASAP.
@@WildlifeMoto Agree. The blank canvas aspect of the RE Interceptor is a big reason I'm attracted to the bike. Bikes are very personal choices based on a number of considerations. To each his own, but there's no need to confine your choice to a pure touring bike or an adventure style bike just bc you want to do some touring. The RE Interceptor is a standard type of bike, which to me are the best to own (especially if you only have one bike). Secondly, the pieces were useful improvements, high quality, and they didn't cost all that much money. Imo the value was well worth the cost, and I would want every one of them if I get that bike. On top of that everything you added was useful for riding around town as well as for touring.

Yep. We took a long ride across Arizona. I was the only one without a faring or windshield, I rode my bobber, and I actually ended up with nearly scabbed cheeks from hot windburn. It dried my lips till they were cracked so I had to wrap a bandana around my face for the ride home.
Ha I just put that seat on my interceptor , it is much firmer than stock and much better looking. Don’t know about that… I doubt you could fit a tent in there with poles… The seat… I’m a fan of a completely flat seat for a bike like this as you can sit further back just to change body positioning for a little while..
Regarding the "Grip Puppies." I bought some for my BMW R1150R a few years ago and they weren't tight enough and when I turned the throttle the grip would just spin on the grip so you might need to apply some kind of spray adhesive to the inside of the grip to solve this problem.
A small point perhaps. The engineering-correct lubricant for plastics such as PTFE lined cables, is silicone oil. Not a PTFE dry spray. PTFE is a non-stick coating not a lubricant. It is actually a very hard material and if it spalls away from the job can act as an abrasive.

I Like the Royal Enfield Interceptor and the Classic 500, but the Interceptor has upswept exhausts, plastic silver mudguards, and silver wheels that let it down. I believe it would look much better with straight exhausts and chrome/stainless mudguards and wheels. I'd buy an older British bike but the Enfields would be more reliable and less problematic. The Classic 500 is a beautiful-looking machine but the Vibrations put me off. I wonder if rubber mounting the engine would cut down vibrations enough?
