      Honestly why not just buy a bike that doenst need so much modding? Really drives up the price of the Enfield. On another note how much miles are you down rn and how well did it hold up so far?

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  3 роки тому +4

      @@francisnorthwood7862 I purchased this bike as a canvas for customisation during the various lockdowns. Miles wise, about 1700, zero problems. Hoping to put some serious miles on it ASAP.

      @@WildlifeMoto Agree. The blank canvas aspect of the RE Interceptor is a big reason I'm attracted to the bike. Bikes are very personal choices based on a number of considerations. To each his own, but there's no need to confine your choice to a pure touring bike or an adventure style bike just bc you want to do some touring.
      The RE Interceptor is a standard type of bike, which to me are the best to own (especially if you only have one bike). Secondly, the pieces were useful improvements, high quality, and they didn't cost all that much money. Imo the value was well worth the cost, and I would want every one of them if I get that bike. On top of that everything you added was useful for riding around town as well as for touring.

      I've got a Dart on the Guzzi. It is mainly aesthetic. It does take a little of the blast off but it's main purpose seems to be directing flies into you mouth, yum.

      @@francisnorthwood7862 because 'most bikes' don't have the fun factor of this one. I do agree the seat wants replacing though; the stock one is definitely numb bum.

Appreciate the Inteceptor mods a lot as have been on the same journey myself for the last year and a half, cracking bike out of the box but making it your own is thoroughly rewarding! @@WildlifeMoto No worries, will definitely keep watching! Just a quick question, are the standard brake/clutch cables long enough to fit your LSL bars do you think or did you need extended ones?

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  3 роки тому

      @@mattfisher2513 Will you be running the standard bar clamps? If so, you should be fine. If you are running risers, or just want a bit more slack, I've seen others run the throttle cables behind the fork to gain a couple of cm back. My brake line was fine with these bars, but again if you are adding risers, you might need to play with the routing.

    Regarding the "Grip Puppies." I bought some for my BMW R1150R a few years ago and they weren't tight enough and when I turned the throttle the grip would just spin on the grip so you might need to apply some kind of spray adhesive to the inside of the grip to solve this problem.

    A small point perhaps. The engineering-correct lubricant for plastics such as PTFE lined cables, is silicone oil. Not a PTFE dry spray. PTFE is a non-stick coating not a lubricant. It is actually a very hard material and if it spalls away from the job can act as an abrasive.

I need to replace the clutch cable on my '88 Honda Hawk GT 650 (Bros 650 where you are at) and the Venhill clutch cable that you installed on your RE Interceptor seems to be the ticket. What about tires?

    All GREAT mods except for the pipes; love the originals in size, shape, and sound. Wouldn't change them for anything, especially louder ones. Wished the originals were quieter yet ! The Pirelli tyres are highly regarded in my country, and nobody swaps them until they're shot, but sure there are way better out ther. What are you thinking for replacement ? Do you think the bike comes with tyres too skinny for the weight and geometry ? Excelent vid man !

    i had the same issue with the clutch cable. the plastic mount came off and my wire was sitting on the radiator, melting the rubber around it. i noticed this because my friction point was basically non existant lol

    Thanks for this helpful video. Are all theese mods listed usable on EURO-5 2021 model, in Italy?

  • @clausentumsoton

    Enjoyable video... however, I think that some of the mods are pretty pricey for what you get, the oil cooler guard for example.. nothing really wrong with the standard, holes similar size and it'll last many years. Also the luggage.. I can think of plenty of quality options at a fraction of the price tbh. Still, some will disagree and that's fine.

    I will always prefer a tank bag to something that you kick every time you get off or on your bike.

    Nice mods, can you tell about handlebar make?

    Thank you for the video very good suggestions. The USB plug however concerns me because it is open to rain. There’s got to be a better solution that is weatherproof.

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  3 роки тому

      True. You won’t be able to use this in the rain. Maybe I could make a cable with a rubber cap glued to the end. 🧐

    Hello and thank you for your videos ! I have a few questions about touring mods which seem important for me : how to attach a Tomtom SatNav to the handlebar, how to connect nicely some electrical devices (you mention a free plug in the headlight), and panier choices (SLC support are looking good but the paniers are not secured at SW-Motech)

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  3 роки тому

      The bar ends are from Oberon Performance. They won't fit with the stock bars as RE have fitted some weird inserts. I have changed my bars to LSL.

    I Like the Royal Enfield Interceptor and the Classic 500, but the
    Interceptor has upswept exhausts, plastic silver mudguards, and silver wheels that let it down. I believe it would look much better with straight exhausts and chrome/stainless mudguards and wheels. I'd buy an older British bike but the Enfields would be more reliable and less problematic. The Classic 500 is a beautiful-looking machine but the
    Vibrations put me off. I wonder if rubber mounting the engine would cut down vibrations enough?

    Great suggestions, practical and ethically pleasing. I see from the vid you have upgraded the rear of the interceptor is that on this channel?

    I have bought Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 a few days back and i am very happy with the bike. This video is very impressive and i would like to make these modifications on my bike. Also I would like to add a "clock" if possible. Kindly let me know if these modifications are available in India.
