  • How Long Does DNA Appliance and Homeoblock Treatment Take? Or How long does DNA and Homeoblock appliance therapy last from beginning to end. If people wear the DNA or Homeoblock appliance for 10 to 16 hours per day, total treatment time will usually last 12-24 months. In rare cases it can be as little as 9 months or as much as 2.5 - 3 years.

I'm now on my 8th month of treatment with the Homeoblock device. So far, I haven't noticed any improvement in sleep quality. However, a few pounds of reduced body fat improves sleep quality more than maxilla and mandible expansion from the device. $10K for this device. What a waste of money. I advise anyone who's thinking about using this device for sleep apnea to reconsider.

Did you notice any changes in the jaw or face shape?

@@ewaaaaa777 My jaw has expanded and come forward, but the expansion is still too small to notice when I look in the mirror. I have about 10-12 months of therapy remaining with the device, so hopefully, I begin to notice a significant improvement in sleep quality at that time. I know it has expanded because I have expanded the device for 14 months' worth of expansions every 7 days.

Does it make sense that losing fat in the back of the throat would open up the back of the throat and lessen airway resistance more than if the soft tissue on the floor of the tongue moved forward? So far, I've been using the Homeoblock device for five months but haven't experienced any improvements if my sleep apnea symptoms because of the device. I do, however, notice the usual improvements in sleep quality after losing a few lbs of body fat. If I get down to around 10% body fat, I get into deeper, more restorative sleep and for longer, without as much fragmentation. Is it possible the soft tissue and tongue have not moved forward enough for me to notice any improvements from the device alone? Dr. Belfor scanned my head and neck and said I was a prime candidate for the Homeoblock device. I'm starting to get nervous that the device isn't working as it regards alleviating my sleep quality issues. What do you think about my situation as described?
