For my bmx I used rubbing alcohol to get the handlebar grips on. It eventually evaporates, but it makes it super easy to get them on. Maybe it could work for this thing.
I don't use these grips but from applying handlebar grips to bikes (which have similar shape/elasticity to Buttendz) the old trick was to always use hand sanitizer on the handlebars to get the grips on. It provided enough lubrication to get the grip on and completely evaporated within 5-10 minutes of the grip being in place. Perhaps the hand sanitizer would work with these grips alongside the hairspray method you mentioned? Worth a shot.
Initially I loved the Buttendz that I've got on my Flylite. But after using it for a few months, I much prefer the Lizard Skins I've got on my other twig
@@HockeyReviews My Buttendz came with next to no applicator spray and was incredibly hard to get on the stick. I'd probably buy 1 again, but I think Lizard Skin feels better. Although I've not tried to get a Buttendz sized knob on the top with lizard skin yet
I have lost count to how many of those spray bottles came defective. I have only ever had 1 of those work properly while the rest get stuck or don't spray at all.

The biggest advantage for Buttendz is reusability. But I prefer Lizard Skins as well.

I love Lizard skin in part because it's so customizable. Just use normal tape as the butt end or design you want and throw Lizard over it.
I use buttendz on my goal sticks, I love em the only downside I find is they add a good amount of weight vs regular tape.
I've used them and since they are on the top part of the stick and not on the blade , i can't feel it
Do the top knob leave gaps when you install them on concave sidewall shafts like some Bauers sticks? Thanks
Which Bauer stick specifically?

I honestly just tell people to use hairspray, works just as well in my experience
Thanks bro
My fingers are literally bleeding from trying to get this over the top of the stick
Hairspray and/or water+dish soap help a LOT! As well as doing the twisting motion while you pull down.
