Impossible to install, to the point I concluded I must've bought the wrong size. Cut it down to 2" and just rolled it on to get some use of the knob, then taped over where I had put the tape on. Won't ever buy this thing again.
Ty very much. Less than 4 mins installed.took much longer to remove all my old tape from the handle. Have 2 more goal stick to do when my other grips show up. Keep your stick on the ice!
Took me and my son all we had to get it installed. My wife came to see if we were ok after hearing the struggle. Definitely need an update on the instructions
Virtually impossible to install, as instructed, and as not instructed. Tried on two sticks. Makes you wonder if it has to be so narrow. Blistered my hand trying to get the first one all the way on. Gave up on the first one and just cut it.
Putting mine on was hell but on my second twig my spouse suggested trying lube as you go along putting it on a after you have the water on it as you go along put a small bit of lube it’s a life saver
So wait, why does the packaging that came with mine say I need to use mineral spirits or paint thinner??? I can just use water and a tiny amount of dish washing soap? You know what, nevermind, these are impossible to install...
Hi, I have problem with tacki mac in middle part. Beginning and end part of Tacki mac holding very well, but the middle part is moving. :( It's very unpleasant and I dont know what to do... Anyone have experience? I thought I cut the Tacki mac in half and use some glue there, or use hair spray (but I did not understand what and how to use). P.S: Sorry for my english. :)
To make it easier hold the grip under hot running water (kitchen sink) periodically as you slide it on. The heat softens the rubber so it stretches easier. I am not sure why the hot soapy water does not rinse off the glue on the tape strip, does anyone know?
Use mineral spirits, not soap and water...go to Dick's or other store that sells golf grips...the double sided golf grip tape and solution is what you want to make this easy (and to re-use).
Tried installing it as per these instructions which are nothing like the packaging says. Was damn near impossible. Will never buy this product again. Grip is currently loose now that it’s on . Absolute trash
Notice the video cut. Reality is you will spend hours trying to get it on more then an inch. Which is where it gets a little thicker and stops... all the soap in the world will not help as the glue is still sticking to the grip. Seems like these companies just don't want to develop a proper install method.
Worst purchase ever. Ruined my new gloves. Put a hole in them with in the first week using this grip. Previously used lizard skins or vuk grips and never had an issue. We rock. Figured I’d try a new grip. Terrible mistake. Stay away from these!!
I followed your instructions but they are awful. It took me 10 minutes using your method and my hands were very very sore. A nightmare. The next time I put a squeeze of washing up liquid in a tablespoon of hot water, poured hot water over the stick end and sticky paper, poured the soapy water inside the grip, making sure it went all over, then put it on, Took 1 minute, easy. Some people use hairspray inside the grip.
This grip is beyond terrible to install. I’ve tried installing three different grips, and each one tour. Save yourself the money and the headache. Just buy lizard skin instead.
$7.00 piece of junk. Old school custom tape on the RD Jofa and I’m better off. I’ll put this thing on a garden hoe or fiery arrow that’s not coming back …
thanks! I was struggling with it but then saw your tip on the soapy water. made the difference!

Thank you! I got a tacki Mac yesterday and I attempted to just put it on as it was with out checking instructions, well I know now...

Returning this. You can't apply it. I don't know what sorcery is in this video.
Following results on the package results in a half installed grip and a near aneurism.
Please update packaging instructions. 👍
I definitely did not twist it on and I resulted in my hand losing skin and getting blisters

The sticky paper fell off while instal.. how important is the sticky paper?
Mine ripped, how can I get another one.. I was trying to put it on my 1s:(
Why do my directions say to pour a solvent on it???
Right? Or paint thinner?
If my stick breaks, how do I remove this from my broken stick onto a new/different stick?
+Tarek Itani you dont. just get a new one. nice avatar by the way ;)
+Timbee3 dam. I don't feel so bad because I got it thrown in for free from the proshop in my rink for buying an IMS 11.0 helmet. Likewise, gkg
Use an air compressor and be patient, it can come off if you get air between the grip and the tape.

And gave up on the second one. Took the stuff off and my son is just going to do a regular top-of-stick tape job instead.
My grip was still wet and twisty for a week. Had to pull off to dry it
Putting mine on was hell but on my second twig my spouse suggested trying lube as you go along putting it on a after you have the water on it as you go along put a small bit of lube it’s a life saver
also make sure to put the lube inside of the grip thing then slide it on

thanks. Just got mine yesterday
Can you take this off?

take it off and restart the process
Thanks for the video Dave!
I just got one and it sad nothing about size. I tried to put it on my stick but it didnt fit.I thought I ruined my stick.I will never buy this again

The tape was better when it was dish soap over the ones they use now that require solvent
Hair spray works much much better than that double sided tape and warm soap water.
What a pain to install
I spray WD 40 onto the tape instead of water/soap, and it's ten times easier to put the grip on the stick.
pensfan 77
But does it allow the grip to attach well?
Yes.
pensfan 77
Awesome! Might have to try that.
Connor Bryant-Adams that was my concern as well. I'm guessing you use the WD40 alone, without the soapy water?
I ended up using my heat gun, last time I buy this product
Elbow grease? There's no grip. It's soaked.
Только tacki mac, ХОРС не понравился!
Отличная вещь!!!

Not recommended. Even with the soapy water it aint moving past 7-8 cm.
Impossible to instal. I threw it away, it doesn't work at all. absolute garbage

Terrible product, way to difficult to wiggle or pull onto stick…ripped and had to throw away.
