Thank you so much been trying to get an ATV to run for two days after it sat for 3 years and after checking the spark plug, draining the gas tank, and checking oil I finally know how to clear the carburetor ♥️
This video showed me exactly what was wrong with my carburetor float assembly mechanism: Yamaha raptor 90 fuel puking from the carb drain, set screw was tightened all the way, still dripping gas, though it was an issue with the float and couldn’t figure out how the system was suppose to work (this is my first atv and first time ever messing with a carb)… now know that once you tighten that screw -> carb bowl/float area fills with gas -> this allows the float to close and send fuel. 10/10 thank you!
The screw on my is so tight idk what’s wrong second day it was leaking but after a bit it stop leaking I’m a newbie also what can I do I have no knowledge on quads or anything on this stuff when I got the quad back everything was good till it started to get cold 😐
@@abac5093yeah mine is tightened down super tight still leaking. I’m thinking the float is getting stuck and flooding the carb so extra fuel has nowhere else to go but the drain
You probably found your answer already but for those who come to this video, i had this same problem. I had to adjust my bowl float as i was receiving too much gas into the bowl. I dont remember the procedure very well but look up your make and model, then instructions to adjust bowl float.

SPOT ON MATE! I am teaching myself the basics as I go along. Simple, too the pint and not theatrical....well played!
Thank you so much! I have always wonder what this screw is for but never learnt its use until now

Thanks mine has been sitting gonna drain now
I’ve always wondered why there would always be a hose hanging off of those cheap quads
My Suzuki king quad just has a nipple and no hose, trying to plug it to prevent water from getting in my gad
Can I do this to see if water has gotten into my carburetor? I sunk my big bear 360 and I think there might been water on the carburetor
Yes. Water will come out. However, it'll be best to remove the carb and check the bowl to see if the float is stuck.
Hi I have a Polaris predator 500 and it's dripping gas from that same little drain hose
What should do to fix it? Just tight the screw right? Thanks

When I turn the screw nothing comes out does that mean dirty carb?
I’m wish you bro 😅😅😅 already buying a new carb that’s bs just to see if that’s my problem 😊
Does the gas have to be on or off to check?
On. But if there's already gas in the carburetor bowl, it'll still drain.
Do we do this for a certain amount of time?
As soon as you turn that dial, gas should flow automatically.
Hu? ?
That's a tdr moto quad bike
Still uses the same carb.
