- Hello! Thanks for checking out the first of what will hopefully be many more gear demos on the AMPSAMPS UA-cam channel.
This video features two of my most recent builds, the Filmoverb and the PREF86.
The Filmoverb is a mashup of the Filmosound 385 front end and a Princeton Reverb. 15w, fixed bias with spring reverb, bias vary tremolo and a vintage 12” Utah ceramic 35w speaker. For those who love the Filmosound 385 but wish it had a little more headroom and onboard reverb and tremolo; also for those who love the classic 15w Gibson and Ampeg amps with reverb and tremolo like the Falcon and Reverberocket.
The PREF86 is a tube preamp in pedal form that features a single EF86 pentode running at full voltage in a circuit based around the early Vox AC30 EF86 channel. Not only do pentodes take pedals exceptionally well, but the PREF86 acts as a line driver/boost and adds the touch sensitivity, clarity, harmonic richness and crisp breakup that can transform your generic PCB backline amp into something that feels and sounds like you favorite vintage amp at home.
