The AMPSAMPS PRE-Q: All-Tube Parametric Overdrive.

Heres a look at the AMPSAMPS PRE-Q!
Following the PREF86 & PRE85, this all-tube overdrive pedal/preamp also features a pentode 5879 front end (Filmosound 385/Gibson GA-40) into the Ampeg V series (V2/VT40) sweepable midrange circuit and inductor. You get volume/drive, the 3 switchable settings as featured in the original Ampeg circuit (300/1k/3k hz) with the midrange control that boosts and cuts those frequencies. The PRE-Q also features a master tone control to tame the high end going into the inductor.
This pedal weighs in at 5.5 lbs and takes up 192 cubic inches (! 11x7x2.5) so, not for the faint of heart.
Once you plug in, you’ll find that the combination of the touch sensitive and harmonically rich 5879 front end paired with the endlessly tweakable midrange control opens up all kinds of places for your guitar to cut through the mix.
