Nice pedal. It boggles my mind that the Friedman doesn't let you split your signal like this unit does. Hopefully some competition will nudge them a bit.

I own the IR-X. This thing definitely is optioned better. I know there's someone out there that can't decide whether to get the IR-X or the IR-D and wishing one of them had some Voxy cleans. This is probably the pedal for them. I wish the IR-X had a presence knob like this does instead of having to use the software. I wish the IR-X had two footswitchable master volumes like this does. In the end, I play mostly 80s hard rock and metal and the IR-X does that in spades. I even used it live the other day and did I have that tube amp grin on my face.. no. But, the ease of use could make up for that, we'll see. In my opinion none of these pedals will ever replace the harmonics, dynamics and perfect storm that is a tube amp. For me where they shine is a super easy, great sounding option for home headphone practice and very easy way to get to FOH with a good sound.
The IR-X HAS 2 switchable Master Volumes - I have the IR-X and D. Interesting option this one though
Very cool.....definitely need to look into getting one. I wish somebody would do something just like this, but with encoders rather than standard pots, that allows creating and saving presets with the cab IR and fx loop options per preset. It already has MIDi, so having presets (like the MP-1s and JMP-1s of yore) would really make this a STAPLE unit for people who need the flexibility of a modeler, but don’t like the option paralysis and price of the big-boy modeling units out there.

The nice thing with these is tonal choices at a reasonable price. We just need a Vox ac pedal in the same format.
The thing this beast has that my IR-X doesn't have that's making me wish I had waited is that bypass(on) footswitch. I can't get the IR-X to clean up like the Roland Jazz Chorus I currently run it into and that switch would have been welcome.
I've never heard of this company, but I love it that all these companies are doing this as far as building pedal board solutions . This thing has a great name. You have to love anything called the mothership..😂. It has some killer sustain. Just killer. It reminds me of that Friedman x preamp thing. I like it. A lot. It sounds great to me...At least from what I can hear online. ❤

So... the question is: This or the IR-X, lol. I like the outputs on this one, how's the noisefloor when the gain comes up?
Using Victory Kraken v4, great unit, but like on Ola`s video it takes boost very weirdly - it cuts bass a lot. This unit sounds good and its more affordable.
What I like about this over the Friedman, apart from the flexible outputs, is that the knobs are further away from your foot. In the heat of battle you could accidently stomp on the knobs of the Friedman. Sounded great on your DGT, which is my go to guitar!

It seems that this unit covers pretty all wanted options. With the others there is always a small feature missing, I think they do it almost on purpose,…..
How ironic Science Amplification just brought out the Mother PreAmp a few days ago. 2 channels with some of the features. It to is meant to be an all FET interface and be an option to a digital modeler pedal. It is just $300.00 USD. No tubes though. __The Tsakalis is nice enough but it is $650.00 USD. The Friedman Preamps at $600.00 USD.
Having no separate outputs for FOH and poweramp is the BIG misconstruction of the Friedmans. And the big advantage of this mothership.
I've never heard of Tsakalis but it's good to see more companies going down this preamp route
