    Hi, thanks for the prop video.
    Question, after you potted the babies and placed on the gravel with the dome over it for a makeshift greenhouse, how long do you leave them like that? Do you let air circulate while it’s in the makeshift greenhouse every so often? I can understand why this is helpful I’m just wondering how long I would need to keep them like that and when I could allow them to grow on their own? Obviously it may vary depending on how the plant is growing I just didn’t know if you could recommend a general time period?
    Thanks!

    I do like the method of propagating in the dirt inside of the ziplock bag. One of my coworkers gave me 3 Hindu cuttings, sadly two didn’t make it in the dirt . I then converted to the water propagation. So far so good!! Thanks for the info 😅

      Oh no I’m sorry for your loss!! I’ve been propagating with water this time around too. Hoping we both have good luck with our hindu ropes 💜I’m trying my other Hoyas out in moss and water

    One last question, I may have missed it but do you let the cuttings callous over before placing in water?

    • @SydneyBristow0788
      @SydneyBristow0788 Місяць тому

      Generally, you do that. Usually a week and then place in water.

    This hoya was my most recent wishlist purchase and I'm so excited!! Granted the two plants I got aren't much bigger than your cuttings, so it's going to be some time before I can try propagating. 🤣

    I love this plant!!! Do you happen to know how to grow them from seeds? Is it from seed pods like some other Hoyas?

      I know it’s my fave!! I was just in there talking to mine a minute ago. Haha. I’ve only propagated from cuttings. I’m sorry I don’t anything about growing from seeds 🙃 thank you for watching my video!! 💜

      Thank you for watching!! There’s some leaves on mine that seem to stay wrinkly even after I water. It’s almost as if that part of my rope is not drinking at all! She worries me sometimes so it definitely gives me peace of mind having her baby plants just in case! I say GO FOR IT! Who knows…maybe it may even do yours some good after getting trimmed! Please keep me updated and take care! 💜💜

    Hi. I love your videos and your personality! I just received a 4 inch pot variegated Hindu rope in the mail, the soil’s dry, but the leaves are firm. Should I water?

    • @happygreenplants6469
      @happygreenplants6469  Рік тому +1

      Awe thank you!! oh my gosh! I just got a one of those too! I’m in love with the variegations😍 I say yes! Then, you will know what it feels like when it’s all heavy following a good watering, and then you can leave it alone for a while which is what plants that have just come through the mail really want. They just want to sit in a bright spot and get over their trauma 😜

    Fantastic video! I just came home and found the cockatoos had created a clipping of my Hindu rope plant 😭😭 Did you happen to make a video on your water propagation method? I can’t find it

    • @happygreenplants6469
      @happygreenplants6469  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! ❤ You have a clipping!! What a gift from your cockatoos! 😂 I don’t have a video for just the water props. I did soil and water to show the difference in the roots. They did about the same once I potted them up. I’ll usually do water propagation with the hindu rope, and Ive liked moss propagation with my other Hoyas. Thank you for watching my video!!

      @@happygreenplants6469thanks so much for the reply :) Your content is fantastic, and I completely agree with one of the happiest days of my life was when my hoya flowered for the first time!! My cuttings are propagating on my windowsill now in water with a stem from a pothos, so fingers crossed I have 3 new hoyas in a few months :)

    Hi. I loved your video on propagating the Hoya Hindu Rope plant. Unfortunately, I cut off the stem of the spent flowers, not realizing that it will not bloom again. Other than still being a very healthy growing plant since, it still does not bloom for me. It's been years. How do I get it to bloom again?
    Sarah

    • @happygreenplants6469
      @happygreenplants6469  Рік тому +1

      Hey I’m glad you liked it! Oh no! Why is it being so stubborn?! Give us the blooms, Rope!! She’s healthy and growing so it sounds like you are taking good care 💜
      Here are some growing tips that work for me: I water my rope when it’s dry and I will usually shower off the leaves. Mine receives hours and hours of sunlight a day. I fertilize with a top dressing of worm castings to the soil in early spring. I hope you get your blooms back! 💜💜Thank you for watching, Sarah!
