As someone who weighs 120 pounds fewer his formal self, I can say without reading a single paper that a calorie is not a calorie and weight gain and loss are not energy imbalance problems. I do not understand how these ideas continue to pervade our society! Dogmatic thinking can be so harmful, literally. Thank you both for your work in this crucial public health issue!

An "Estrogenic" obese body is created by sugar , high carbs ,refine carbs , eating too much fat and over eating protein .Sugar is sugar .. fruits , ,refine carbs , fructose (sugar) in fruit . Eating toxic factory food , fast food ,, dairy ,cheese ,milk , , mayonnaise , all salad dressings , peanut butter , whey-protein shakes are all "damaged fats" are toxic to your liver, brain and heart , , all vegetable oils ,,"polyunsaturated fats"" , over consumption of any fat including healthy fats like saturated fats will make you gain weight . Drinking alcohol including red wine are toxic to the liver ., The less you eat the longer and healthy you will be . A slow unhealthy liver cannot metabolise process any fats including healthy fats .
The biggest problem with controlling diabetes (insulin) and weight through diet is that people are lazy . You can lead a horse to water but can't force them to drink. Most people rather eat fast food , , wheat , white flour , factory frozen food ,, can food , protein powder and dairy full of casein that destroy the cells in the pancreas and cause cancer and take pills or shoot insulin than to change their shitty eating habits .
We live in an "instant gratification" society full of "lazy people" with zero 0 discipline or work ethic. Sad but true. If you want to lose weight watch your intake of "carbs" , keep your sugar level below 110 by intermittent fasting and eating less .People who eat less live longer . Be careful since the equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar happens very quickly. For example:
1 cup of milk equals = 2 teaspoons of sugar *
1 cup of rice (cooked) equals = 9 teaspoons of sugar*
1 banana equals equals = 5 teaspoons of sugar •
1 baked potato equals = 7 teaspoons of sugar •
      1 sweet potato = 8 teaspoons of sugar •
1 cup of strawberries equals = 2.5 teaspoons of sugar (low sugar)*
      1/2grapefruit = 2 teaspoons of sugar -
Coca cola (one can) - 8.25 teaspoons of sugar -
Raisin Bran cereal - 7.75 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) -
Grapes fruit - 4 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) -
      Tomatoes - 0.7 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) -
1 Muffin (one chocolate chip muffin) - 4.75 teaspoons of sugar -
      Special K cereal - 3 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) - Corn Flakes -
2.4 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) - Alpen cereal -
5.75 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) - Mangos fruit -
      3.2 teaspoons of sugar (per 100grams) -
A cup of seedless prunes has, in effect, 25 teaspoons of sugar ! Scientists find in comparing the sugar levels in the blood after the consumption of a snickers bar that has 8.5 teaspoons of sugar the same as two bread slices ! .
The sugar equivalent is of 1 large bagel a whopping 12 teaspoons of sugar !...It is beyond what the body , the liver and pancreas can metabolize. We are practically growing "" cancer farms " .
Lastly, it is worth noting that there are many breads that a single slice of which will raise your blood sugar more than a US Snickers bar (which has a GI of 68/97). to be healthy you must keep your blood sugar below 110 (""everything"" including eating too much protein will raise your insulin .)
Keep your protein portions and meals small , you cannot cheat your body Not even with paleo diet or ketogenic diet will not work for every one . Eating healthy and intermittent fasting is best solution to be slim and healthy for "" Me "" ) find what works for you , do experiment with your self and one day you will hit the solution that works for you ...keep trying !
Only water will not raise "insulin" hormone everything else including protein will raise your insulin , Try intermittent fasting . No carbs no cookies , no baked goods , keep your blood sugar around 110 or under .The less you eat the better you control your insulin hormone and blood sugar and you gain no weight . If you're addicted to carbs and sweets you will not lose weight .Get rid of your addiction and control your "mental health" control your Cortisol and stress .
Before you start eating any meal take three spoons of Apple cider vinegar this will bring down your blood sugar . Eat Salads with no oils , only with lemon or vinegar .If you go to bed late you will not lose weight , if you have sleep Apnea it will be very hard or impossible to lose weight the best go see a sleep doctor . Sleep Apnea is a very serious sleep disorder disease .
Also don't eat fruit if your plan is to lose weight ; all fruit will cause your blood sugar to go up . Fruit sugar called fructose is toxic and will spike your blood sugar and raise your insulin .Fruit should only be eaten by healthy slim people in season.
Every morning eat one lime or lemon (organic) with warm filtered water everyday ,detox your liver ,kidneys with water and lemon . natural vitamin Cfrom lime or lemons make your arteries strong and healthy and cleans your liver and kidneys water and lemon (warm) the liver prefer warm water .
For breakfast eat a high protein diet or better don't eat breakfast . Eat no grains ,No refine carbs ,not nuts ,No lectins ,No beans , eat a Lectin-free diet . If you feel hungry drink a cup of organic coffee with no sugar this will calm down your hunger spams .Coffee will calm down your hunger but don't drink more than one cup a day .The Amino acid called L-Tyrosine is a good supplement to take if your thyroid is slow .Anything you eat should be organic close to mother nature eat nothing from a can or package .No factory food . Avoid all Restaurant food is Cooked with MSG , too much sodium and "damaged" toxic fats .
Eat for your ""blood type" is a good diet for losing weight .Very important If you eat high protein diet with vegetable high in fibre make sure you take vitamin B-6 ,folic acid ,B-12 , choline , Vitamin C 3 grams a day to keep your "homocysteins" low in your blood so you don't get heart disease .Avoid all white flour , beans , corn but eat vegetables . Avoid damaged fats ,no cheese , no frying , no mayonnaise . no salad dressings . No fruit juice , no fruits are very high in sugar . Also over eating too much protein will raise your insulin and cause you to gain weight . Eat small portions do not over eat on protein .
To detox your liver and bring down estrogen eat sulphur vegetables ,Broccoli , cabbage ,onions ,garlic ,Red beets et.. Best supplement for the liver is ; ""Trimethylglycine"" (TMG) and "liopic acid " take 600 mg a day best for liver health to lose weight and drink no alcohol (NO Alcohol) . .
"Excess sugar ""eventually affects every organ in the body, but initially, it is stored in the liver in the form of glucose (glycogen). Since the liver's capacity is limited, a daily intake of refined sugar (above the required amount of natural sugar) soon makes the liver expand like a balloon. When the liver is filled to its maximum capacity, the excess glycogen is returned to the blood in the form of fatty acids.
These are taken to every part of the body and stored in the most inactive areas: the belly, the buttocks, the breasts and the thighs. But then it affects vital organs like the heart and the kidneys.reason two meals a day is so beneficial is because it keeps insulin low and GH high. Insulin is the main hormone in your body that is responsible for fat storage.
Every time we eat a meal ""insulin is raised"" . When "insulin is high" you will not be burning fat or losing weight. GH -"Growth hormone" on the other hand is the main fat burning hormone in your body. Therefore it would make sense that we would want to increase this as much as naturally possible. A combination of "intermittent fasting" and only having two meals a day can increase GH drastically. Increasing fat loss and weight loss results dramatically.
Avoid all soy and flax seeds oils and fish oils supplements , avoid all polyunsaturated oils and food . Soy and flax seeds Though are not a chemical estrogen, but it is a plant-based estrogen, and can throw off your hormonal balance. Eat a anti-estronic diet ,Vitamin B-6 ,100 mg a day its good to take to lower estrogen ; Work out: Studies show that moderate exercise lowers estrogen levels.
A 2013 study also found that aerobic exercise helps the body break down estrogen so it's easier to flush away. Get enough sleep: When you don't get enough sleep, you can not lose weight make sure you go to bed early 10:00 p.m. .. The levels of the so-called "sleep" hormone called melatonin is disrupted and you will not lose weight ! sleep !
      Turns out that melatonin hormone has a protective effect against ""excess estrogen" . A 1999 study, for example, showed that melatonin helped block the growth of ""estrogen-induced cancer cells"" . Use a water filter: Public water supplies often contain chlorine, fluoride, and other industrial chemicals that act as xenoestrogens. Use a quality filter to reduce your exposure best book for weight lose ;
      The only thing that doesn't raise the insulin hormone is plain water .Go buy this book and read it at least 4 times until all the information in the book is memorised in your brain ; The book by Dr. Jason Fung called ;

Since watching "What the Heck Should I Eat" on PBS, I've been following Dr. Hyman. I appreciate how he listens to all the other "experts" AND addresses trends on what we should and should not be eating. He is a great filter & has helped me and my family eat healthier, lose weight and feel LOADS better. Here's to health and cutting out all the 'noise' we are bombarded with all day/every day. It has helped me stay focused and not give up out of frustration. Thank you so much Dr. Hyman!

Thank you so much Dr. Hyman for interviewing the illustrious Gary Taubes. Though I have never met the man personally, I feel indebted to Gary Taubes for my own tremendous weight loss (lost 100 lbs) and health transformation. It was Gary Taubes' seminal book, "Good Calories, Bad Calories", along with his numerous lectures on the subject of the obesogenic effect of high insulin levels, induced by a high sugar and high carbohydrate consumption, which led me to change my thinking away from the conventional calorie counting low fat approach to weight loss, to one focused on the effects of food on our endocrine system. While Dr. Robert Atkins may have been right about the diet, his books never seemed to argue convincingly for the diet, to seem cogent to my naturally skeptical mind. It was Mr. Taubes book, and his wonderfully articulated lectures, that convinced me as to the validity of looking at fat accumulation as a hormonal phenomenon. Once I went down that rabbit hole, I started to read the works and listen to the presentations of other doctors and researchers who were increasingly viewing sugar/carbohydrate as the true culprit behind type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, atherogenic dyslipidemia, obesity, etc. etc. etc. I started the diet, and have never looked back.
It has become increasingly in vogue for doctors to now advocate for the safety and efficacy of the low carb/high fat diet, due to the ground swell of scientific evidence and clinical success of the diet. Yet, back when Taubes was advocating for such ideas, over 10 years ago, he was greeted by much skepticism and ridicule. It is nice to see him get vindicated every year, with more and more studies and clinical trials verifying his hypothesis. Dr. Robert Atkins and Gary Taubes are essentially, to the world of nutrition, what Copernicus and Galileo were to the world of astronomy. Despite the criticisms and slander that have been foisted upon them, they have proven the naysayers wrong.

Wow. Thank you for so much information and history of our dietary patterns and faulty nutritional "advice".
Having lived on a "sugar rollercoaster" for the first three decades of my life; I know first hand that sugar doesn't increase your energy. At the age of forty I was "modesty over weight" with high cortisol levels and zero energy levels. My family of origin didn't need illegal drugs we had sugar!

Taubes is a perfect example of the fact that sometimes you need a person from outside a discipline to unpack a bad paradigm. Another example is David Diamond, and engineer that has taken apart the false claims of statins, and also David Feldman who has challenged the lipid hypothesis is rewriting the palybook on Lipoproteins and cholesterol.

Great interview and content. At the end you guys talk about more research being needed but it's going to be an uphill battle. Why is more research needed? The research on Atkins, low-carb high-fat, ketogenic lifestyles is already in, no? What I witness in people who "try" these is a lack of discipline and willpower to see it through. I'm convinced that the addictive power of sugar, wheat, etc. are just too strong for many people and that's why all of this is so difficult to make mainstream.

I do think the food culture makes it more difficult for everyone. We all live busy lives and eating outside the home is both easier and enjoyable for most, but try to follow a healthy low carb diet without cooking the vast majority of your own meals. It’s very difficult or otherwise very expensive.

One Solution: We have to take all of the carbs, sugars and sugar products out of the grocery aisles and fill them with new protein based foods meant to support the human physique, especially it's daily routine of repair via protein synthesis from amino acid pools. some excellent tidbits discussed here, could be a great eye opener to anyone struggling with weight, diabetes, health / heart issues .. just soak up this interview and try integrating these perspectives into your next three weeks. and .. see dramatic results, without changing anything else in your world.
I have been doing proactive and privately funded health science research since 1990, and the most dramatic benefit is as stated. remove processed sugar. entirely. from your diet. gigantic benefits. sugar and refined carbs. yowza. major major major perks.
.. but the keys to loosing weight .. turns out to be
    not exercise.
    not diet.
    but sleep.
    as linked with IF.
only when you have absolutely no insulin.
at all. being requested. by your body.
    will the body then naturally
    just use up that source.
    that it already has.
    and .. the weight ..
    just melts off you.
    anyone.
    any creature.
this is natural .. no creature is able to eat.
    all the time.
    like idiotic humans do.
sensible humans .. have been sensible for ages.
2,500 years ago they knew that diabetes came from refined flour. and that wasn’t GMO, .. no politics. no pollution. all organic.
2,400 years ago the ancient Greeks knew that keto solved epilepsy. SOLVED it. 22 days of fasting. solves that in .. over 60% of the cases of epileptic patients.
says so in the newspaper clipping for then on the wiki epilepsy page dated 1922. so this ain’t anything new.
it should be front page news for every day the last 99 years. no nope.
my daughter has a mild form of epilepsy. scared the crap out of us. took her to every doctor and got every test. nothing. medical science was absolutely useless to me. back then. this is early 2000s, as she was born in 1996.
but .. the seizures. they are/were linked to diet.
    grains.
    ooops.
    so .. yeah.
our own in-house master led studies about ‘ the right questions to ask ‘ .. have been.
we have been doing as such since mid 1990.
my father by himself .. since 1953.
    obsessed with prevention.
we had stacks and stacks of those issues around the house.
    take away refined sugar.
    and grains.
    and bad dairy.
    what is bad dairy tho?
    everything that is sold.
    almost.
99.91% of all diary cases we have documented.
    every single product.
    is unhealthy.
it has to be full fat.
    and organic.
    to be healthy.
    anything low fat.
    is harmful.
should be illegal to sell it.
    poof. magic.
in .. anyone we have helped.
no such thing as it doesn’t help.
    any ailment.
    turns out the missing component
is the synergy between healthy fats. healthy salts. and young organic greens. that should be the world diet. recommend. in any region. it turns on Vitamin K2. without that .. the greens and the organic fat and organic salt. u will never be healthy.
well .. u might have the ILLUSION of health.
but ... when you compare yourself on 3 weeks of clean KETO .. cripes. no contest. u will never go back.
which I have wrote about .. for the last two years.
when that is combined with IF .. that is the magic reset your body has been asking for. the weight just dissolves.
    no extra exercise is needed.
but .. u will find yourself with so much extra energy, that going for a mountain hike all the time, just seems like a great idea. vs .. punishment.
refined sugars. refined carbs .. they need to be schedule 0 classed. a new category. above restricted opiates. as that is what those are. a different opiate. should be a heavily controlled banned substance. no doubt about it.
    just see the brain scans
the same parts of the brain are activated.
    that was settled ages ago.
thx for the great discussion. this has connected many thought threads in my research. sewn together lots of garment holes as it were. now we have a path forward.
at least for those that want to be healthy.
public policy .. one day they will see the writing on the walls. of our work @ FWC. since 1990.
you two .. have changed a lot of thinking.
thru the various food docs I watched over the decades.
seems like only me is listening
but .. no. it is around us.
    there are super healthy
    health conscious folks around.
the whole Lulu Lemon crazy is testament to that.
    but refined carbs.
they are crushingly bad for you.
+ it is a nitroglycerin vile that gets tossed on top. sugar.
    the teeniest amount.
    ruins the body.
    for a long time.
due to the microbiology that is needed to metabolize that.
it has to be zero. daily. weekly. monthly. yearly. zero.
you will never never never lose weight if you have any amount of sugar. in your diet. ever.
a single mouthful changes what microbes. live. or don’t live. inside you.
see the new research on breast feeding mothers. they can chart many trackable markers. in a single day. different. based on every day .. how you are eating. like. wow. amazing.
    but of course.
the kicker is .. tho .. organic berries .. don’t crush you.
you can have .. a ridiculous amount of those before we see clinical .. wow .. ohh. hahahah. you can ruin yourself on natural fruit. but it .. it is very very difficult to do that.
    we have tested that.
    that data. pictures.
    of what happens.
that takes .. hahaha 20lbs. of fresh picked blueberries in a weekend. to have your body tell you to go to hell.
the cost to get there for one .. is prohibitive tho.
and .. pretty much any fruit .. you .. you can’t even eat a whole apple. in a sitting. I know I don’t wanna. and I love apples. so I only have half of it. and save the rest for later.
    because your body had enough.
you have to really do what we did.
    TEST that.
    to even get there.
for the average person .. they won’t.
    ever.
    get there.
    no way.
but it is possible to get damaged from a gigantic amount of fruit.
this is while calories. are useless.
the glycemic index .. is useless. as a tool.
a reference from A/B/C .. mmm. okay. maybe.
but .. ugh. this is ruining healthy doctors. what they say. ruining it.
we have had many many sensitive patients. HSP. they can see negative effects shown in their body. in less than sixty mins. from a single square. of boutique organic chocolate. a SINGLE square. or a single bite of a crappy pizza chain slice.
yup. lots of documents evidence of this.
    but when you eat clean.
    you don’t even want it.
even those that have the most atrocious of diets.
because only the microbes want it.
you change your diet for 2 weeks. then by the 3rd week .. poof. you don’t want it anymore. you don’t. no will power needed.
    the recommendations should be ::
    IF, get all your sleep.
    all the time.
    zero carbs.
    organic unsalted butter.
    fresh salmon.
    organic avocado.
    organic olive oil.
and lots and lots of organic salad greens.
    no kale.
and .. the last thing is salt.
    has to be healthy salt.
    regular is bad.
    all of industry.
    puts in bad salt.
    because it is cheaper.
    end of story.
sea salts .. all that we have studied.
    nope. bad.
    unfortunately.
what is wrong with them .. we still don’t know.
the only stuff that seems healthy so far is mountainous salts. but .. we are still in trials for that. exciting work uncovered so far.
the body cannot repair itself without healthy salt.
so .. ask your doctors about medical salt. what they dispense. in a hospital environment.
about the only thing hospitals get right is that.
    restrictions on regular salt.
    carryon. keep going with this.
I cannot give away all the great stuff (from my next book), so I’ll stop there.
you are on the right track. except all refined sugar is the devil. and Lustig .. he shows that. the wheat belly guy .. yup .. grains should be outlawed. at least the way we do them in North America. but that infects the rest of the planet. what we do here.
    pollution.
    that isn’t considered enough.
being from Canada .. gives me much insight .. over what the US .. just plainly DOES WRONG. and .. having 10x the population, means 10x the pollution. that .. well .. that has a dramatic effect on health.
that’s why maybe no one puts different country data .. into a more weighted perspective. population density.
Canada is very spread out. but has some dense cores.

I'm a clinical dietitian. These Doctors have Not studied nutrition the way I did. A calorie controlled diet limits carbs, fat, and protein to satisfy the needs for these nutrients and then adds almost unlimited vegetables and non caloric drinks. It works. I recognized the connection between high insulin use by the body as a cause of both arteriosclerosis and fat build up. Who has the highest incidence of heart disease - - diabetics. What is out of control - - sugar and insulin. Ketogenic diets kill the kidneys do you want to die from kidney failure? Eat a balanced diet of organic high quality food. Fill your plate 1/2 low carb veggies., 1/4 starchy vegetables , 1/4 high protein food (eggs, fish, beans, meat, cheese ), decrease the size of your plate! Don't have seconds. Drink water before you eat. Don't eat junk food. Dessert is FRUIT.

Yeah, it’s a swear word in some circles, “Oh, SUGAR”!
This will sound cruel but we must start to face the addictive nature of sugar (and starch)....I worked in an environment where I watched diabetics getting literally hacked to death, limb by limb as their disease progressed and gangrene took them little by little. It occurred to me that they were acting out the equivalent of saying, “I’d give my left arm for that donut”! ...and they did...the medical community’s answer...just make sure you take another insulin injection before you indulge! Disgusting and unforgivable for medicine’s refusal to face the truth! Sorry, but there’s no place for egos in true science...if you can’t drop your pet “ theory”, move the hell out of the way and let a real scientist have at it! How many people have been sent down a pathway to death by these egotistical zealots? Millions upon millions!

If you at the same time reformed the food stamp system it would further help drive people to consume healthier foods, especially those who are the highest risk.

  • @MikaelVitalyVyacheslav-bh2fk
    @MikaelVitalyVyacheslav-bh2fk 6 років тому

For your health ... ..-An "Estrogenic" obese body is created by sugar , high carbs ,refine carbs , eating too much fat and over eating protein .Sugar is sugar .. fruits , ,refine carbs , fructose (sugar) in fruit . Drinking alcohol including red wine are toxic to the liver .The less you eat the longer you will live and healthy you will be .
Scientists find in comparing the sugar levels in the blood after the consumption of a snickers bar that has 8.5 teaspoons of sugar the same as ""two bread slices "" ! .
The sugar equivalent is of 1 large bagel a whopping 12 teaspoons of sugar !...It is beyond what the body , the liver and pancreas can metabolize. We are practically growing "" cancer farms ".
Lastly, it is worth noting that there are many breads that a single slice of which will raise your blood sugar more than a US Snickers bar (which has a GI of 68/97). to be healthy you must keep your blood sugar below 110 (""everything"" including eating too much protein will raise your insulin .)
-- Magnesium Deficiency Sets the Stage for Plaque in the Arteries --
A new animal study shows that "low levels" of magnesium promotes plaque formation in the arteries. During the study period magnesium deficient animals developed significantly more plaque in their aortas. The researchers fed rabbits a diet known to produce atherosclerotic plaque. The thickness of artery walls increased 42% in magnesium lacking animals. LDL cholesterol was highest in the magnesium lacking rabbits and lowest in the magnesium supplemented rabbits.
This study adds further science to the idea that a diet lacking in magnesium sets the stage for heart disease.
Taking mineral "Magnesium" its good for cortisol and stress.People who are magnesium deficiency have the highest heart disease , heart attacks and Irregular Heartbeat ,(arterial plaque ). Diabetics have magnesium deficiency , elevated blood glucose levels increase the loss of magnesium in the urine, which in turn lowers blood levels of magnesium.” So getting enough magnesium is especially important in diabetes and people who are border line diabetic or over weight . "Magnesium" has been shown to effectively prevent vascular calcification associated with chronic kidney disease. In the animal study researchers tested the effect of magnesium supplements on calcification of arteries. They found that magnesium relieved the degree of calcification with higher doses, offering better protection.
Every morning drink with warm filtered water mixed with lemon everyday ,detox your liver ,kidneys with water and lemon . natural vitamin C from lime or lemons make your arteries strong and healthy and cleans your liver and kidneys water and lemon .Try to drink at least a litre of water a day .
Eat no grains ,No baked goods ,No refine carbs ,not nuts ,No lectins ,No beans , eat a Lectin-free diet . If you feel hungry drink a cup of organic coffee with no sugar this will calm down your hunger spams .Coffee will calm down your hunger but don't drink more than one cup a day .The Amino acid called L-Tyrosine is a good supplement to take if your thyroid is slow .Anything you eat should be organic close to mother nature eat nothing from a can or package .No factory food . , Avoid salt (sodium) ,Avoid all Restaurant food is Cooked with MSG and lots of sodium and "damaged" toxic fats .
Eat for your ""blood type" ( Dr. D'Adamo's Blood Type Diet) is a good diet for losing weight .Very important If you eat high protein diet with vegetable high in fibre make sure you take vitamin B-6 , B-12 , choline , Vitamin C 3 grams a day to keep your "homocysteins" low in your blood so you don't get heart disease .Avoid all white flour , beans , corn but eat vegetables . Avoid damaged fats ,no cheese , no frying , no mayonnaise . no salad dressings . Over eating too much protein will raise your insulin and cause you to gain weight . Eat small portions do not over eat on protein .
To detox your liver and bring down estrogen eat sulphur vegetables ,Broccoli , cabbage ,onions ,garlic ,Red beets et.. Best supplement for the liver is ;Water with lemon , Trimethylglycine - (TMG) , malic acid and "liopic acid " .
A combination of "intermittent fasting" and only having two meals a day can increase GH - Growth Hormone drastically. Increasing fat loss and weight loss results dramatically. (If you're over 50 yrs. old and you have low testosterone take 50 mg. of DHEA hormone) and 6 mg. of mineral Boron .
Avoid all soy and flax seeds oils and fish oils supplements , avoid all polyunsaturated oils and food . Soy and flax seeds Though are not a chemical estrogen, but it is a plant-based estrogen, and can throw off your hormonal balance. Eat a anti-estronic diet ,Vitamin B-6 ,100 mg a day will lower estrogen . Get enough sleep: When you don't get enough sleep, you can not lose weight make sure you go to bed early 10:00 p.m. .. The levels of the so-called "sleep" hormone called melatonin is disrupted and you will not lose weight .
Turns out that melatonin hormone has a protective effect against ""excess estrogen" . A 1999 study, for example, showed that melatonin helped block the growth of ""estrogen-induced cancer cells"" . Use a water filter: Public water supplies often contain chlorine, fluoride, and other industrial chemicals that act as xenoestrogens. Use a quality filter to reduce your exposure best book for weight lose .

ketogenic diet- is Another B.S. trend. A slow unhealthy liver cannot metabolize process eating so much fat 7 days a week.
..sooner or later it clogs up !..In the study, the researchers fed mice a ketogenic diet for several days and expected to find a favorable outcome - perhaps weight loss or another indication of improved health. Instead, they found that the "liver began resisting" insulin" almost immediately and the mice were unable to regulate their blood sugar levels after only "three days" on the diet. (Insulin resistance, meaning that cells in the body don't respond to insulin, is a key characteristic of type 2 diabetes.)😮 Got to this website to read Article how keto diet is a sick trend !!

---- Heartburn drug warning: New study links to Alzheimer's disease---
PPI use causes low stomach acid which is probably the culprit for Alzheimer's. Unsaid, was the fact that many people over 50, who have never taken a PPI, have low stomach acid.
The "Neurologist" Dr. David Perlmutter believes Alzheimer's is related to a dysfunction in the gut biome (stomach)and can be treated with probiotics. Interestingly, having low stomach acid, whether normally from aging or from PPI use, allows "bacterial overgrowth" from both failure of stomach acid to kill bad bacteria entering the stomach as well as bacterial overgrowth resulting from lack of acid and pepsin to properly digest the food we eat.
Reflux is due to poor eating habits. Actually, reflux is more closely related to ""low stomach acid" and "bacterial overgrowth" due to low acid in the stomach or a mechanical problem with the Lower Esophageal .
The Medical Medium Anthony William says to drink organic celery juice on an empty stomach. It contains a unique blend of seven different acids the body needs to produce hydrochloric acid to properly digest protein and protect the gut from pathogens.
Acid reflux is actually caused by bad acids produced by pathogenic organisms traveling up the esophagus not by too much stomach acid or stomach acid traveling up the esophagus.
---- One reason people are more prone to Alzheimer's disease by taking antacids is they aren't getting their B vitamins. This is especially true of B1, B2, B4, folic acid, and B12. In nursing homes people's dementia improves with B vitamins. Yet, older American's are put on antacid drugs, while at the same time they ""produce less stomach acid"" . People who rely on antacids usually will wind up with too little stomach acid.
Close to 80%of people who complain of heartburn really have too little hydrochloric acid and enzymes in the stomach. The people who have too little stomach acid can't digest food properly. Antacids make a bad condition worst.
Antacids cause decreased excretion of acids and increased bicarbonates, this makes urine more alkaline.
An alkaline urine is a breeding ground for bacteria. This is why cranberry juice is used for a bladder infections it makes urine more acid. the low acid in the stomach creates many health issues.
No surprise all medications even over the counter ones have side effects. Again, they do not solve the problem.
A poor diet can come back one day to bite you. Our digestion system is not meant for all the garbage we put there. I am sure many people would improve with a diet human's were meant to eat.

Since creation, it's always been the same...
You follow trends, and say they change.. but that's what a fad is!
Refined Sugar is about as recent as America, not a fundamental element, not even a essential nutrient... just empty calories.
Sugar was never good.. only methylated-polysaccharides are functional without the volatility.
And everyone knows about #Chromium deficiency syndromes include Alzheimer's disease and other blood sugar issues.

not for this lifestyle.. stay away big time from starchy potatoes.. fruit limit to berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc. and limit serving to 1/2 cup most).. I'd google best keto foods, best keto authors, etc.. but to each their own and their own experience, their own excuses, etc. best to you.

It's not what you eat. It's what you DON'T eat. Fasting. Such fasts broken by a few bytes of medium protein low sugar high fat. Trigger. When you start dreaming in your sleep of an olive oiled salad and a steak with butter on it, you have fasted.

I wish we could eliminate sugar entirely - we'd have happier people and possibly less crime? Whenever I wait in line to pay for my gas at the same gas station, all around me I see donuts, cookies, candy bars, pizza, soda, etc. and it always makes me think "no wonder we have so much cancer (well also fatty liver, diabetes, obesity) in this country.

The people who purport to know exactly what causes anything is the problem not the solution. It is one of Taubes great strengths that he predicates his claims with a level of uncertainity. The main reason why we are in the situation as regards nutrition science and policy is that it was driven by people who didn't question their own beliefs.and didn't consider alternatives.
