Once again, Dr. Hyman hits it out the park. Before their first class med students should listen to this interview. And at the end of their first year they should be required to listen to it again.

I love this attitude with Autistic children!I am now retired, but constantly got myself criticism when I worked with autistic children....positive feedback is essential for us all and rather than demand the kids did things as prescribed by the system, I built relationship with them....entered into their world and recognized the communication they were expressing with their behaviors...either positive or negative....and...what it boils down to is treating them, and their parents as as "people"...who mattered....one of the parents, long ago back in 1997 said to me..".its in the gut...I just know its in the gut" and lo and behold.....there it is.

Dr. Baker's story, and his thought process, is so inspirational. His way of thinking, and his approach to medicine, is endanger of disappearing. Ultimately, Dr. Baker and other physicians like him, are a product of their time. Back when he started out as a doctor, the medical system did not pressure doctors to see a high volume of patients in a single day, and therefore the doctor could really learn the history of a patient, thus leading to a more accurate and personalized diagnosis. Now, with an insurance industry that incentives quantity over quality, doctors are compelled to be supervisors over a medical factory, that churns out patients at such fast pace that they seldom cultivate relationships with the very people they are tasked with caring for. The result is doctors applying quick fixes, through the use of pharmaceuticals, instead of properly identifying the environmental and lifestyle triggers that are inducing such maladies in the first place. The end result is that, at best, health problems simply get "treated" and not cured or reversed.

I wanted the conversation to continue! Thank you for the wonderful information, Dr. Baker, and for asking the questions so many choose not to. Thank you so much for this conversation! Twenty years ago I read Dr Christiane Northrup’s books and I began realizing that traditional medicine wasn’t addressing causes but just using bandaids. Robin Keuneke’s book Total Breast Health is a bible of great nutritional information that I also turned to constantly. It is so important to get the word out to people that nutrition is the number one way to become healthy and stay healthy. It is so important for people to prevent disease before it happens. Thank you both for leading the way.

Dr. Hyman, I am a fan of yours and listen to all your podcasts. I really think this was the best of all, though I honestly was disappointed that you interrupted Dr. Baker way too many times and his pearls of wisdom were lost in the process. He was continuing on the 5 most important markers and you cut him off at the 3rd, as an example. Autism is such a seriously growing epidemic and his experience is needed badly to struggling parents. Please do a web series on each of these epidemics for the benefit of the world. He has clearly imbibed the Indian Ayurveda and Greece which are ancient treatment principles , where the root cause is first determined than just treating the superficial symptoms using chemicals rather than using foods and herbs. We need such practical knowledge to be persevered, so a web series is very critical for the future generations, before it is all lost!

    • @saloniasalonia2236
      @saloniasalonia2236 6 років тому +1

Correct to the ‘markers’ in my comment: Question asked by Dr. Hyman at 34:39, 5 things to commonly need to get rid of and 5 things not having enough of. Wish he was allowed to give the entire list, which was very important for us to know.

These HDCs, which I call little dudes, or prebiotics or probiotics is the trademark that I got on them, is an answer to the question how come people in Africa living the old fashioned way don’t have allergies and autoimmune diseases?"

I believe they are talking about the gut microbiome. Just take a high quality probiotic daily for about 3 months. That plus eating healthy food will restore your gut microbiome. I used Dr. Merola's probiotic (90 day supply) after taking antibiotics when I was in the hospital for a couple of days. (It didn't take 90 days to recover my gut bacteria. Only took about 4-5 weeks. You can tell how good your gut bacteria is by the shape of your stool.)

Another B.S. trend . A slow unhealthy liver cannot metabolise process eating so much fat 7 days a week .
..sooner or later it clogs up !..In the study, the researchers fed mice a ketogenic diet for several days and expected to find a favorable outcome - perhaps weight loss or another indication of improved health. Instead, they found that the "liver began resisting" insulin" almost immediately and the mice were unable to regulate their blood sugar levels after only "three days" on the diet. (Insulin resistance, meaning that cells in the body don't respond to insulin, is a key characteristic of type 2 diabetes.)😮 Got to this website to read Article how keto diet is a sick trend !!

    "Symptoms of Iron Toxicity"
Iron toxicity occurs when high levels of the element are accumulated in the body, leading to hemochromatosis. Excess iron can deplete vitamin B6 and vitamin C, as well as cause a deficiency of manganese, zinc, and copper. Many of the adverse physical health conditions caused by iron toxicity are a direct result of these deficiencies (5).
    ..Iron and Cancer Risk
There is no doubt that iron overload may lead to cancer in both animals and humans It appears that regular blood donation or blood loss may reduce this risk . Observational studies suggest that a high intake of heme iron may increase the risk of colon cancer .
Clinical trials in humans have shown that heme iron from supplements or red meat may increase the formation of cancer-causing N-nitroso compounds in the digestive tract .
The association of red meat and cancer is a hotly-debated topic. Although there are some plausible mechanisms explaining this link, most of the evidence is based on observational studies.
    BOTTOM LINE:
Iron overload disorders have been linked with an increased risk of cancer. Studies also suggest that heme-iron may raise the risk of colon cancer. Hemochromatosis is an iron storage disease that occurs when there is an overload of iron in the body. It is the consequence of the intestine’s inability to keep out unneeded iron .
Iron accumulates in the organs, often iron-storing organs like the liver, and damages the tissues and organs.
In addition to those mentioned above, iron toxicity may also alter a person’s brain chemistry and affect one’s mood or personality!
An overload of iron is often associated with a strong ego, rigidity, tenaciousness, hostility, stubbornness, and irritability.
Iron also raises Na (Sodium) levels. Slow oxidizers have low sodium levels; so if you are a slow oxidizer, please take this into consideration as well.
Iron overload refers to the gradual build-up of too much iron in the body. ... Over time, untreated hemochromatosis increases the risk of arthritis, cancer, liver problems, diabetes and heart failure . The body has no easy way to dispose of extra iron.
The most effective way to get rid of excess iron is blood loss or best is donating blood to the RedCross.
