What do you think about the stock pickups? Need more output? I love invader Pickups because have much mid frecuencies... probably can buy some invader inaliexpress
The stock pu's were a little to weak and tingy for my liking. Could be corrected with and overdrive and eq but decided to swap them anyways. I purchased both the pickups on Aliexpress. Love the swap. I'll try to do a better direct connect cover in a few weeks. Keep a look out. I have done some recordings with it and it sounds awesome IMO.
@@eljbassist9790 I bought this guitar but The DIY versión. Thanks for The Feed, probably for now use some old pickups from my Jackson DKAF 7 multiescale, this pickups are bigger than normal 7 String pickups, but in future I will buy invader from aliexpress!
Just got mine in the mail yesterday. I changed out the strings for some Ernie Ball and it already made a tremendous difference. I think I will need to change out the pickups since I am getting some super nasty feedback on my high gain channels through my Boss Katana 100 Mk II .
This guitar is pretty cool. Especially after a pickup swap. Let me know what you end up swapping them out with. After the few mods and adjustments it's a beast!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
I saw you got a pickup change on it, If you didn’t change the pickup and left everything as it was, (besides adjusting neck and action) would you consider this a good buy and worth it?
The stock pickups are Belcat humbuckers. They aren't terrible and might be what you're looking for. I wanted a more balanced low and high end pickup to kinda hang out in the mid range. While still having the option of a more defined rhythm or lead range. The stock pickups might be what you're looking for though. Give am a shot.👍
@@eljbassist9790 one more question: I’ve seen a few not good review on the playability from the box, Once you got new strings and the action/intonation set up, how did it feel to play?
Sorry for delay. So after about a month of adjusting the truss rod a little every couple of days. Putting some D'addario strings on it. Adjusting the bridge. It feels pretty good. I really love the look and feel of it. It took some time but I am glad with this purchase.
With a pickup swap, Ernie Ball strings, neck adjustment, bridge adjustment. I truly enjoy it. The build itself is beautiful. The look and feel is amazing. If you want an 8 string good to go out of the box. This is not for you. If you don't mind putting in some time and a few more bucks(still less than a comparable buy after upgrades) this will be an awesome guitar for you.
@@moshka4800 buy a cheap Ibanez rg8, they're not much more money on Amazon, or maybe you can find a better deal used on guitar center, musician's friend, sweetwater, sam ash, etc.... Or doing truss rod and bridge adjustments aren't that hard; find out how it's done here on yt...
Nice. Been wanting to get one to mod. Maybe I’ll refinish it. The shape is awesome.

@@eljbassist9790 my thoughts are to go with Fishman or Seymour Duncan pickups. Reverb seems to have sweet deals going on. More to follow….
I swapped mine (the 7 string model) for EMG 707’s and it is killer sounding.
Prime tip for especially 8 string guitars. Turn down the gain, and turn up the volume just a bit, itll get you a pretty good tone
Do you know the scale length? Says 25.5 on Amazon but 26.5 on Reverb
The guitar has 24 frets, with a total scale length of 26.5 inches.
