I agree, we all have played unbeliavable dificult games. I've completed 100% Dark souls, Terraria, Hollow knight, Enter the gungeon and Celeste. Am I proud? Yes.
you dont have to grind for blueprints, there is an item that always shows up in the first zone that allows you to suck blueprints out of enemies. it also boosts all 3 stats so its worth having it on you regardless.
The Hunter's Grenade only boosts stats on the higher difficulties. Also, the shop where it and the map are located has to be unlocked, and it costs 3 thousand gold, which is a lot for Prisoners' Quarters, or a 50 curse.
@@draghettis6524 3k isn't really much, on 5bc you can get at most 5-6k just from going through the movements in the first biome/level. And considering that their point in playing the game is to complete it, I'm sure they needed to unlock it at some point, which brings me to believe this footage was recorded and played before the hunter's grenade was added.
With that in mind, part of me wants to see him complete Xenoblade. After all, apparently he was streaming it for a while. But if he does try to complete it, he should definitely get fellow game-completer ChuggaConroy on-side as a guide. Chugga travelled that road up and down the Bionis many years ago.

Getting to the epilogue just takes time, but I think it's enjoyable throughout. Getting all the Steam achievements as well. Just, if he were to finish runs with max heat? Ooof. That... that might be the breaking point? But, I believe Jirard is a great gamer. Think he can pick up and master the game easy enough.

Not really just some people have hundreds of hours and haven’t even beaten the base difficulty theres 5-6 “difficulties” so to speak known as boss cells
Games like this always hurt me to see Jirard complete. I like when every now and then he can pop in some old obscure SNES game and be like "Yeah, completing this took about 4 hours, and it was kinda fun."

I've been playing Dead Cells on Mobile and believe it or not, I completed it. The DLC are coming soon eventually to mobile so I'll have a lot more to do. But as of right now, I've unlocked every item, every rune, every blueprint, beaten every boss without getting hit and only missing some hidden achievements apparently. Thankfully the DLC seems to be this Fall so I'm looking forward to it. Also, this is the first game I ever 100% completed. I've been through every biome, beaten every difficulty available, and found every secret so far. DeadCells parry system is incredibly strong. you can parry all but 4 attacks in the entire game, even those green bomb flies. and the game has this thing where you can pull off parries even when you hit the button a split second too late. so you can parry two attacks coming from both directions if you press the parry/back+parry buttons fast enough. i cannot express how satisfying it is to do this.

Honestly I love this game and my son and I are both grinding to get the complete ending. Well done!
As a fellow DC completionist I have to give huge respect to anyone who has the dedication to 100% this game. I’ve completed it on PS4, Xbox and Switch and I still find myself going back to it not just for new dlc but because I enjoy the game so much and I’ve played thru it so many times it’s become my go-to game when I don’t feel like playing anything else, somehow one of the hardest indie games has become a chill out almost zen like experience for me. Go figure.
The first 2 hours of playing this was so frustrating but it slowly got better and little by little the better equipment and abilities make it so worth it. Fun game if you can get past the dying over and over in the beginning.

O.K. What I find funny is he never mentions the fight with the collector when you have all 5 boss cells, let alone the fact that you get the final boss cell from the giant, or the true true ending after you beat the collector and go through it all again
Dude I ADORE this never ending New Game + simulator. Dead Cells is a masterpiece, but I would never want someone to have to complete it! Your willpower is remarkable, Jirard!!!
Complete Enter the Gungeon, I mean if you can handle, if you feel like it's too much don't do it, I not really sure what is required to complete Enter the Gungeon

Wow! What timing. I bought the game wqhen it first came out and played a bit of it but got bored. I tried to give this game another shot and WOW was i ever surprised. I played 20 hours in 2 days when i usually game only about 10hrs a week lol. Great game!
I played it for the first time for a few days last month too but made an oath to stop playing after the final boss because it was a really addictive video game. It was soaking so much free time I had that I made that oath so I could come back to other games without feeling like I am missing out, so after I did finish the game I stopped playing it. Dead Cells has such a great game loop that despite it being my first proper exposure to the rouge-like/rouge-lite genre it sucked it me in like a vacuum. I definitely recommend checking this game out if you are willing to burn a lot of time on an addictive game.
2 things about difficulty in this game. 1 is difficulty setting and the other is item completion higher difficulty by standard means that game is difficult(entirely new enemies appear, less to no healing, more damage taken, etc) but thats the cost of higher boss cells. THE BENEFIT IS that you are able to permantly upgrade all gear after boss(like bonus damage scaling and addtional effects), "deadcells" the currency to for perma upgrades gets a 2-4x drop modifier, and gear level increases will difficulty(first area gives weapons 4 times stronger when in high difficulty compared to easymode) In the middel-late game you can unlock an item that once per run, lets you turn an enemy into an elite varient, but beating it will guarentee a blueprint, no matter how rare(turning some 0.1% into 100%)
I finally 100% completed the game today. It's a perfect game. However, I agree with G, finish it. Completing it almost broke me. I had to take a break from the game for about a month. This game wil joint the ranks of my all time favourite games. I will love it for ever!
I really enjoyed Dead Cells, but once I beat the Hand of the King for the first time, I lost all desire to continue playing. I think it’s because I have a difficulty threshold. I just don’t have enough free time to master a game like this, but I love watching top- tier players master it and other ultra-hard games.
I can't even begin to imagine how much suffering he's been though he's like our Gaming Hero Going all the way when we don't have to taking in all the suffering of a NOT WORTH IT Pay off I just want to give the guy a hug sometimes screw social distancing there's fun in moderation but only the rare games are truly Worth completing We love you Jirard wish we could share your burden of completion of not worth it games i cant even begin to comprehend your dedication to such a cause

@@slegiardryke7103 Maybe the fact that you can play a game 260 hours and not find it, means the method ain't so obvious you know? Jirard's videos aren't "i know everything about this game" they're a review from his experience and in his completion that either didn't work or didn't ever show up. Also over the course of a year of playing it's possible he even found it and forgot, because completing games at his rate isn't easy. "pathetic" is a bit rude
Finally someone talking about this game so few people talk about this game. I wish more people would know about it so I could share my love of this game with other people
As a fellow dead cells completionist, every time I go bqck to finish the game and collect the new weapons or get the achievements they release weapons with like a 0.2% drop chance, even the hunter grenade doesn't make it better.

Its been 4 years now and it changed so much, it kept on improving, yet i still love it, although i don't play it as much as i did once. i wish the Spite sword was as op as before tho, i love this one.
They keep on delivering at its state rn it's one of the beat games of all time imo it's just too good and feels complete. The castlevania dlc is a celebration of both dead cells and the game inspired it, it feels like a full circle with it going back to its roots I'm just fanboying at this point but very well deserved

I'm actually surprised you didn't mention the lore so much. Like, you say the only rewards are costumes, but the biggest reward for completing 5 boss cells is in my opinion the new biome and boss and the lore that comes with it. Even after being annoyed at this game because I wasn't able to complete 5 boss cells, it wasn't only satisfying to be done with it later, it was really fun and the "true ending" just felt epic and cool. Even after basically being done with the game, I still play it once in a while because it's just so much fun and the great ending made 5 boss cells just so much worth.
sounds like you need to chill and play a chill game I would recommend Expand. It's a beautiful game that uses black, white and red for everything and it only takes like 2-3 hours to beat. Really cool game and to me, very spiritual.

I picked up this game a few months ago and only JUST beat the game for the first time a few weeks ago. Needless to say I’m in love with how satisfying this game is.
Please, Jirard, spend a month or three completing short and easy games. Indie games, well-documented AAA games--it doesn't matter. Just take it easy. You've earned it after this torture.
It has achievements and an actual end credits now, so while I haven't watched this episode yet I will say that you can "complete" a new Roguelite that just got out of Early Access called "Hades" by SuperGiant games, one of the best games I've played in a long time.

Same happened to me when I tried it on xbox game pass. Game loop is really addictive now I bought it on steam at a whim though
Funny, i just made the same oath after finishing it for the same reasons.
Great game.
2 things about difficulty in this game. 1 is difficulty setting and the other is item completion
higher difficulty by standard means that game is difficult(entirely new enemies appear, less to no healing, more damage taken, etc)
but thats the cost of higher boss cells.
THE BENEFIT IS that you are able to permantly upgrade all gear after boss(like bonus damage scaling and addtional effects), "deadcells" the currency to for perma upgrades gets a 2-4x drop modifier, and gear level increases will difficulty(first area gives weapons 4 times stronger when in high difficulty compared to easymode)
In the middel-late game you can unlock an item that once per run, lets you turn an enemy into an elite varient, but beating it will guarentee a blueprint, no matter how rare(turning some 0.1% into 100%)
“Every time I complete Dead Cells they release another dlc”
*FATAL FALLS*
I finally 100% completed the game today. It's a perfect game. However, I agree with G, finish it. Completing it almost broke me. I had to take a break from the game for about a month. This game wil joint the ranks of my all time favourite games. I will love it for ever!
Thank you so much for playing through this for us! We really appreciate your commitment to following through on the indie-land promises!
I was always confused on what this game was but it looms absolutely amazing
Loooooove Dead Cells, took my forever to finally get all 5 stem cells and get to the real final boss
The last time you were sponsored by Kove, I bought it with 70% off my purchase. It actually made it worth buying! Usually I don't get things from over seas, I'm from New Zealand and delivery has some insane prices. Just want to say thanks, I'm actually using right now as a speaker for my PC hahaha!
Doesn’t the Hunter’s Grenade drop blueprints when you hit enemies with it?
Yeah, you throw the grenade, get the enemy down to half health, and use the blueprint extractor.
Mike Ockhurts Gotta wonder how he didn’t figure that one out
I was a little upset that he didn't mention it. Nor did he mention a Curse Sword run achievement.
@@flameburst9734 this is par for the course for jirard. there's been so many times there's an easy way to do something in a game, and he somehow completely misses it, never figures out the specific mechanic that makes things 10 fold easier, and then complains about it ^^;; it's kinda getting pathetic at this point.........
Dead cells poses the question, what if team cherry didn’t stop adding dlc to hollow knight
man that review sent me... i remember stumbling onto the game randomly on steam, buying it expecting a refund, and falling in love with the gameplay. Its been 4 years now and it changed so much, it kept on improving, yet i still love it, although i don't play it as much as i did once.
i wish the Spite sword was as op as before tho, i love this one.
Really curious how he feels about the new castlevania dlc?
They keep on delivering at its state rn it's one of the beat games of all time imo it's just too good and feels complete. The castlevania dlc is a celebration of both dead cells and the game inspired it, it feels like a full circle with it going back to its roots I'm just fanboying at this point but very well deserved
Yoooo thanks for showing off dead cells, we have a great community and if people need help the dead cells reddit and discord are super helpful resources go check out for newer players, don't be discouraged if you're struggling early on people, thanks again for giving the game some more light Jirad! Super appreciate it!
Take care of your mental health. It's totally fine to not complete something if it's going to be determintal to you personally. You'll still make fun and unique content even if you don't complete monsters like BotW and Persona.
He did complete botw
@@anthonycurtis6895 and Persona 5
Nintendo did a Game Trail for this game. I said “why not?” and I downloaded it. I got hooked. I love this game already.
Just to clarify, I brought it.
"Monster of a game to complete" - laughs in binding of isaac
The 3,000,000%!!! is the worst fucking think that ever existed for a completionist.
@@vectravl "Oh, you thought 1,000,000% was annoying? Now do it two more fucking times." God, what a joke. I love BoI, but man, a few of its achievements and challenges are straight up bullshit. (Like Ultra Hard)
@@Drekromancer Or the keeper
@@Drekromancer wait what do yall mean?
@@anotherwea6692 the 1,000,000% achievement is getting real platinum god on a single save (plus a little more). This means unlocking and finding every item, every trinket, beating every boss, finding every ending, and clearing every character's completion note. 3,000,000% is doing that three times, once on each save file.
And now there's gonna be CASTLEVANIA DLC!!!
Time to update this again lol
It's never ending!
You should try Hades next! I think you would enjoy it!
sounds like you need to chill and play a chill game
I would recommend Expand. It's a beautiful game that uses black, white and red for everything and it only takes like 2-3 hours to beat. Really cool game and to me, very spiritual.
If you guys like Dead Cells, you would love Hades.
Hades is freaking amazing. Got it on the switch yesterday
Steve Schizas same here mate!
@@xcrack6364 You got me interested. I know about Hades for some time now, since early EA, but never had chance to play it. Is it a good port on a Switch? What's the resolution (docked/handheld)? Performance? Any notable differences/downgrades?
I've never been the biggest rogue-like fan but hades is a different beast it's amazing
@@tropicalpigeon5848 I agree man, I haven’t been either before but I adore Hades.
I picked up this game a few months ago and only JUST beat the game for the first time a few weeks ago. Needless to say I’m in love with how satisfying this game is.
Deadcells: Keeps releasing DLC to make impossible to complete
Binding of Issac: First time?
So F.T.L. should be completely doable.
Daniel Staples except dead cells has had about 10 where binding of issac has had 2
3 for both tboi and dc
Please, Jirard, spend a month or three completing short and easy games. Indie games, well-documented AAA games--it doesn't matter. Just take it easy. You've earned it after this torture.
Imagine how he feels when he realizes a new dlc came out this year... lol
I have the utmost respect for you being able to complete this game.
Dead Cells: The Hyrule Warriors of Indie Games
It has achievements and an actual end credits now, so while I haven't watched this episode yet I will say that you can "complete" a new Roguelite that just got out of Early Access called "Hades" by SuperGiant games, one of the best games I've played in a long time.
i mean, its a rogue like,to expect it to be "completionist" friendly is kinda silly considering this is a genre that thrives on you playing a few runs a day just to get your fix
Few haha "laughs in a hundred"
@@theshinyshinobi2936 Yeah 300 hours is basic time for dead cells
You completely rocked that what an insane game to complete, definitely one for the story books haha
Put brain in front of cells and you got me.
Well by the evidence that you can write, my theory that yes, you indeed got one, or even multible of them.
Good god. 100%ing dead cells must be HELL. I’m having trouble on hard mode (one boss cell) at the second boss! Jirard, you have absolute respect.
Guy's, it takes almost 5 minutes to get through the intro so prep yourselves
@UC2TAb6uncoXKCk0A8CAsixg no literally it starts at about the 4:15 mark
woah! Your dedication to be able to beat the game on 5 BC is mind-blowing! I am making my way there but damn it's hard. Good on you! You've earned a sub!
Lmao, that speaker never was worth 200$.
Well ad money is ad money, but still.
Is it bad?
@@TheBandoBandito Have you ever bought anything a UA-camr advertised? I haven't, but I heard pretty much everything that's advertised is scripted garbage. Raid Shadow Legends, Raycon, you name it

I'm addicted to Dead Cells at the moment. So fluid and fun. I love Roguelikes in general but this one has pulled me away from all the rest.
"69 outfits unlocked"
Huh, nice.
This is a game I might never play, but I’m glad I can live vicariously through you
Insert plagiarism joke here.
Yes
The game so great, it’s worth losing your job and being outed as a total shitbag
