I like how Jack is taking presenting in his stride while Alex is busy/absent with his own channel. He's really growing into the role. Keep going jack!
Imagine if Jack goes than Ethan will do these vids lol 😂😂
I mean is be happy with that also, I think alex moving onto other stuff has been great for them both
@@terrificspokesman7416 he would be alright, he knows to check for milky residue
Jack is doing great! Although I do like the mild bullying from Alex………
I seem to be the only one able to tell Alex the truth on his comment section. It's asif the tiktok kids have automatically jumped on Alexs channel and now this channel has a fresh slate.
i would definitely watch a Scandinavian trip with those two swedish weapons. cant wait to see what you do with that old girl
With the Saab and the Volvo😍
Hell yeah, it HAS TO HAPPEN!
Would be great! Would love if they make some small car meet as well.
In the snow for some frozen lake sweedish drifting would be even cooler !
@@freddieflanders jaaa!
Jack and Ethan were once the camera guys...
Jack is absolutely smashing it with these videos. Can't wait to see more, and would love a scandi road trip with this and the Saab!
8:46 “Sorta handles like I imagine a loaf of bread handles”
Hahaha this is the type of car reviewing we need
Sounds like my E39 🤣
Jack is taking to this presenting like a fish to water, not over the top or droll and comes accross as likeable.
Green screening himself into the sponsored ad was a nice touch too.
On the strength of that, he should definitely got more voiceover work.
It's fantastic seeing you do more presenting mate, properly proud of you!
940: The cbv valve is probably leaking= no boost. Put a new membrane in it. Also put a manual boost controler on and set it to 12-13psi. It''ll give the car a reliable 185-190 hp.
I think this car is an LPT though isn't it? He mentioned 165hp, but lpt would be 135.
@@salvadorpalma8173 b230FK has 135 yes, the b230FT has 165 original(HPT)
@@matias1234543211 It's funny how Saab's 2.3 low pressure turbo had 170hp vs high pressure 200hp (Aero 225), but Volvo had much less.
Those B2x4 engines were really good as well.
@@salvadorpalma8173 the LPT (B230FK) and HPT(B230FT) have 100% the same basic engine, even the ECU is the same. Injectors are the same as well: 330cc/min@3bar
The only difference is the stock boost level.
So that is why it is possible to take an LPT , raise the boost to 13psi and have a perfectly reliable 185hp.
@@vibingwithvinyl I think the main reason for that is that the b230fk/ft Is a SOHC engine whilst the Saab engines are Twin cams. Though you can get a lot more power out of the saabs engine with stock internals.
Jack has taken over the presenter role perfectly. Although it's good to know that the old team will remain intact for most of the videos.
Oh and absolutely, take these 2 cars on a roadtrip to their factories.
I've got a lot of memories in the back of that very car. Nice to see some of the stickers made it. Been in my best mates family for well over a decade, they put 120k on it. There's been 15 people on the roof all trying to catch the same frisby while driving round a field, the rear hatch has claimed several skulls including my own, the original keys got lost in the ocean down in Devon, the oil pump blew 2miles from home after a 2500mile roadtrip, but it lives on, it's a beast! Gearbox was still a peach right till the end. I really hope she does well in the Arctic - Heated seats still work like a charm. To new memories, I'm glad it's in capable if violent hands.
in capable if violent hands.. Haha that's it. Nice story of the car tho!
Congratulations you are lucky for being selected for a gift message me with the above details ☝️☝️☝️
“I haven’t got anything quirky to give you, like a quiche.”
Absolute top job on the presenting Jack, loving it!
Jack is so good at solo presenting. Also the guy he bought it off was an absolute legend.
Keep it up Jack, love the fact you're not overly trying to present and you're just being you!
Volvos and Saabs have such a thing to them, I love them
The swedish know there stuff 😉
Happy to see Jack take a lead on the channel. He cracks me up, naturally funny and has taken to presenting really well.
Congratulations you are lucky for being selected for a gift message me with the above details ☝️☝️☝️
There is just something about an old Volvo that screams class or farmer. Either way its class.
I'd say it's the opposite: it's "classless", because it transcends social boundaries
@@lptomtom sorry when I said ‘class’ I wasn’t meaning it from the point of view of posh vs poor I was just meaning it’s a really great car. Friend of mine uses Class as an expression of saying something really good I think it’s starting to stick 😂
Believe me when i say this, these engines were built to last.
Just make sure you get one with the M90 gearbox
My Grandad had one of these it was built like a tank the thing would just not die no matter what it kept on going.
The rule of thumb with Volvos are, if you maintain them at-least minimally they will outlast you….
I have 3 high miler Volvos. My daily driver (XC70 T6) has 315K miles, my second daily driver (XC70 T6 again but 1 year newer) has 255K miles and just bought back my 3rd daily driver an S80 I sold to a friend at 380K miles and just bought back with 400K miles..
I have barely broken in daily driver Volvos too, I got a V70R with 233K miles, a C30 R-Design with 180K miles, and a 850R wagon with 260K miles. All of which I got cheap e cause they were all shitboxes I fixed up…
@@Honeypot-x9s I’ve got a 400k km 940 station with a B230FT, M90 gearbox and welded diff. Stage 2 on stock turbo and should make around 210. Absolute weapon.
Just changed motor, gear and diff oil in it. Runs like a dream.
Audi's AGN is awesome too 415k km and still going strong while my E90 N52 breaks every now and then and it's at 230k km
Jack you are genuinely a great presenter. Youre hilarious!
Love seeing old estates on this channel
Jack to stay for sure just a good vibe
Jacks smashing it - dare I say he is even more genuine than Alex, although do miss his energy. These videos work well, so long as we get all three together regularly enough...
Jack is doing great, but I do sort of hope Ethan and Edwin get time in front of the camera too. Maybe it's too many years watching Top Gear, but I kind of dig the team vibe.
I do like Edwin ! I think of him as the forth musketeer
Jack is amazing at presenting and definitely take them both home
Bought a 740 gle with my Mrs a couple years ago. Absolutely love it! People do give weird looks though because we're 25 driving around in a car that is way older than us and will probably outlast us 😂
would love to see Ethan do a manual swap on the volvo. Maybe have him do a full service as well as front brakes.
Yus rust, I would absolutely love to see Ethan do a manual swap on the Volvo, and a trip with the Saab and the Volvo to Sweden would be amazing
really enjoying the current videos, good job guys
You can’t beat an old Volvo estate for durability. I’m even thinking of buying a V90 (the last house-brick version, based on the 960) as a daily - I drove one many moons ago, and it was a hoot! Either that or a 240 - the one my dad owned for 14 years was still immaculate when he sold it. Tremendous motors!
Do it, I have a 1995 5 speed 960 that came from Belgium with around 380k kilometers and I bet she can go for at least another 250k, probably the most fun car I will ever own
Just be cautious that sourcing parts can be a little tricky(depending on where you live) and for 960s there isn’t that much aftermarket support if you wanted to mod it especially if you have the irs suspension.
This Charlie lad needs to re-appear, dude seems genuine and has plenty of quirks and features.
Jack had taken the lead very well, he's a natural, loving the vids 👍
Brillant. Also love jack laughing to himself with the rsl 🤣🤣 cant wait to see more!!!
Love the video, really enjoying Jack presenting now and he seems very comfortable, composed and relaxed, before long he’ll be fully into it and I can’t wait to see the content
Proud of Jack for going from the seemingly shy camera guy that barely makes video cameos to the main man of the channel, all the while not trying to copy Alex's old form. The dude is doing great, the CT fans are all super proud!
The video was good, but that commercial delivery from Jack. Exquisite.
Raid is better than scamaze.
Jack presenting is really nice. The plan to go to Sweden with these is too.
Great job, Jack! Love to see you stepping forward and watch you evolve!
Really enjoyed the video, especially the "it's really good at turning left" made me laugh out loud! xD
Great choice, love these old boats. Also gotta say Jack that you nailed the fronting of this video. Smashed it
Yes!!! Definitely want to see them both go back home
Charlie seems like a cool guy. He'd be cool to have back on the channel
He was great
Good banter, relaxed Infront of camera. Fits in well
Congratulations you are lucky for being selected for a gift message me with the above details ☝️☝️☝️
Very positive to read the comments about how well jack is doing in his new role . Well done jack , we are rooting for you.
Jack is absolutely smashing his screen time. Just like being along for the ride with a mate. Great work!
Absolutely take these boys home in the winter, it should be amazing
Jack, you're doing great👍
Nice content. Jack is brilliant as the main presenter, glad he has been finally given the chance.
Jack, you're doing very well in making the presenter role your own. Keep it up, be you, don't rush, it's very enjoyable.
Jack: Is it a good idea for the 266k mile car to get 300 bhp?
Of course, it already has the prancing moose stickers on so it's high time to back them up with some power.
Also, great seeing Jack more in the videos. You're doing great, keep it up mate!
Volvo and Saab are my favorite brands. I would love to own a classic 900 turbo Saab and a Volvo 850 Turbo one day.
Great episode, loving Jacks dry humour. Keep it up and I’ll keep tuning in.
Finally watching a CT video is a pleasure for the whole length of it. Well done Jack! 🤙
The sponsor segment was great
Jack is absolutely smashing it as the new presenter on here, Alex was ok but I definitely prefer Jack's less douchey style of presenting to Alex's. Looking forward to seeing where they go and what they do with these 2 weapons.
I love Volvos! I had a 99 V70 with 275k miles. We drove it everywhere. On our way back from a 2500 mile road trip, we hit a moose in Massachusetts on our way home. Crushed the roof. It drove up on the tow truck. I still miss that car.
Jack is owning this gig now and fair play to him. Loving his style. Looking forward to loads more.
Them old volvo engines just dont give up 👌
Looks like Jack is the Main Man now 💪🏻
Nice! Looking forward to the adventures! :)
I have had many RWD Volvos and one of my daily drivers is still a 940 turbo from 1996. A ratty one it is, but at ca 220K miles I consider it just comfortably broken in.
265K miles is no big deal for the B230 engine. Had a B23 at 450K miles and still not burning any oil (that one was NA though). A B21 from 1975 I had many-many moons ago was at 750K - that one burned quite a lot of oil, but still started and drove like nobodies business. Overhaul was pretty straightforward and made it like new again.
Glad to see a classic Volvo! Im dailying an 945 from 92, non turbo that got 310000miles on the clock!
This channel doesn't need Alex. Jack was great!
I'm so glad that Alex started his channel. Now we get more Alex, more Jack, and still the whole gang together sometimes.
Such utter win. Jack you smashed it. Seller was fun, I'm excited to see what comes next.
Good man jack. Brilliant video what a funni guy. Lol 😆 looking forward to the nxt one.
Awesome work Jack 👏
A trip back home sounds awesome 👌
Really enjoying Jack as presenter. And seeing some good old Volvo content. Really excited to see it and the SAAB get some mods before a dual trip to Sweden? ;)
Jack is a great presenter!
Just sold my '12 focus 3 months ago to buy a Volvo 850 GLE LPTurbo 180HP , 305K kms , runs perfectly , changed the timing belt, brake pads and drove 2000kms on a roadtrip, 0 problems.
Absolutely in love with these cars !
always wanted more of mr joy. always been me fav. keep it up!
Jack's doing a great job! Keep it up!
Not a departure, just less time. He's still part of Car Throttle
Where is Alex
@@stc3145 here I am! Still part of the crew!

notification squad, Have a nice weekend!🔥🔥🔥
Great to see Jack presenting more, his dry humour is perfect viewing! Strip out all the comforts add 300 bhp, roll cage, touring car paint job and then drive it to its spiritual home! 👌🏻
Brilliant episode 👍🏻 hopefully see more like this from Jack!
Where has the weekly videos gone
this absolutely needs to go down the turbo crackhead volvo route
Loved this, doing an awesome job Jack, you have really put the Royal Mail lorry behind you 😉
Jack, you absolute legend! Not only was that entertaining to watch, it was also the first time I have ever laughed at a Raid Shadow Legends ad! Gold stuff guys! Keep it up!!

Keep doing what your doing don't do sob vids or Americanised vids like Alex. Keep it real and keep it UK content. Thanks lads.
Geez. All you do is hate on Alex, if your life really is that empty why don't you go out and make your own youtube channel and create the content you want to see🤦♂️
Great vid! Jack is spot on. Trip 2 Sweden wld b a total blast! Bring it on 🔥🔥🔥
Have been daily driving a very clean 940 Classic low pressure turbo for 1.5 years, and what a joy it has been. Lovely cruising ride, and even though it's designed with a ruler and a 90 degree angle, it turns a lot of heads and gives a lot of smiles to anyone it passes. Sadly it has got to go on to the next owner soon, but it has been a really great and reliable car, and a car that I'll look back and think of with a smile on my face.
Can't recommend an old Volvo enough for anyone thinking about it!
Fair play to Jack enjoying him being the lead on these videos, like seeing all 3 of you together but nice difference. Bit like top gear where they present individually and as a group!
Jack. You're a legend. You fit this role so well, and crack me up. Well played man.
That Riad-SL advert intro had me propa laugh-spit my morning coffee.
I really like the future of this channel - Jack and Ethan for the win! Keep up the good work lads.
Love Jack vids especially with Ethan as their chemistry is awesome
You’re doing a great job Jack! 👍🏼
well done Jack, we support you mate!
Jack really stepping up...You're a natural man..good job mate.
Quality bit of content Jack, Alex who!!
I’m loving these vids jack! More please 🙏
This is the first time car throttle without alex presenting it. Jack has done a great job presenting this video. Also volvos just go and on cant wait to next video
I have had 3 Volvo 240 saloons..two 740 saloons and now I have an s40 r-design....fantastic cars.
"Really good at turning left, turning right... there's something going on". Like me when I go skiing, that.
As others have said, Jack is really nailing the whole presenting lark. 👍
Great job Jack! Nice wagons
Awesome video Jack! Love the high mileage content, especially when it’s a great old boxy Volvo. Spend some coin on it and keep it going! 👍
Congratulations you are lucky for being selected for a gift message me with the above details ☝️☝️☝️
It’s been as far as the moon (and a tenth of the way back) and it’s still a functioning car. That, alone, is magnificent.
I have a 310,000 mile 940. It makes like 200hp with nothing but a high flow filter and upped boost pressure. The engine is redlined everywhere and the oil light is on at idle but it still runs great.
Big ups jack and ethan, enjoy thier content.
We can all agree Jack is amazing and a great lead, Ethan is amazing too glad he’s staying around they all do great and the camera man 👌🏻
Honestly Jack, you're killin' it - even doing the sponsor reads too, which you also nailed. ;)
A Swedish road trip with the Saab and the Volvo would be absolutely awesome!! As long as Jack's driving one of the wagons, i'd be happy.
My dad owned a 940 like that in green that he bought when I was just 6 months old. The sommer I turned 20 he sold it on. Have a lot of sweet memories of that Volvo.
Really liking these videos with Jack on his own tbh. It's just a different style of presenting to how he is with Alex around.
Awesome video guys! Keep up the momentum... I'm guessing changes within the team might be affecting morale??? Don't stop just keep ploughing on and keep the great content up!!!
I'd be pretty stoked if those two wagons get a good resto job each. Great video!
