What are the other colored stones? I don't know the different types. Are all the colored ones quartz (green, yellows)?

I have found great agate only a few hundred yards out beyond the camp ground. I usually though pretty far out on the point to find the really good gravel beds. The beach however, is alway different as the waves have tumbled the gravel beds mixing it all up. My best finds have been a least a mile out. The gravel beds seem to be more concentrated towards the end of the peninsula. That's where I have found my best pieces. I have found agate all year round but actually have found the best ones earlier in the year after the winter storms have mixed every and blown new specimens up onto the beach.

looks like it. I have picked up a pile of green jasper and red jasper. I've polished quite a bit in my rock number. Actually, I'm thinking about creating a colorful walkway mosaic of stone leading up to my front door. I kind of stopped picking up green jasper or red unless it really stood out on the beach with interesting spots of white quartz. North Beach out close to Port Townsend, WA is loaded with great rock beds also.
