I grew up on Tobey Maguire being my 1st introduction into a live action Spider-Man as well(I was 13 when the 1st film came out). Tobey Maguire is the only Spider-Man that I gravitate towards, much respect to the other actors that have portrayed Spider-Man, I just personally like Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. I binge watched Spider-Man the Animated series when it came out in the 90’s & at around that same time I was binge watching Batman The Animated Series & later on SuperMan the Animated series.
Same here, much like how an average movie like Child's Play 3 got Cody into horror, I find it interesting that an average (yet still incredible) third installment like Spider-Man 3 was the movie that got me into the Superhero genre and movies as a whole. I feel that Toby's Spider-man is the most ...relatable and down to earth as opposed to the overly emo Andrew Garfield or the over bombastic, gadget based, interdimensional exploits of Tom Holland. NOT to say that I didn't like them, it's just Toby's Spider-man just felt the most human to me.
He was my first Spider-Man. I love him but on a personal level I felt he was a great Peter Parker but lacked as Spider-Man. Garfield was the opposite, great Spider-Man but too cool to be Peter Parker. I think Holland is a perfect combination of the two. Just my opinion of course 👍🏽👊🏽
@@lennoxmate4064 that's the general consensus. I wouldn't say Garfield was too cool. The only reason most people seem to say that is that he skateboarded. He was awkward a'f lol
@@lennoxmate4064 thank you for taking the time to comment you seem like a genuine person but I'm glad that Cody has you as a subscriber hope you have a nice day

FINALLY!!! A reviewer who actually gets exactly what I felt about Sarah Conner and her story and Dark Fate!! She's always been one of my absolute favorite characters. I actually had a postcard from the Seattle Sci-fi Museum of Sarah Conner from T2 that hung on my wall for years. I'm so glad to see her on this list! 😃

Such a great vid and very list similar to mine. The best UA-cam channel in my eyes! My top 10: 10. The Terminator(The Terminator) 9. Tobey’s Spider-Man 8. Sarah Connor(The Terminator) 7. David Powers(The Lost Boys) 6. David Dunn(Unbreakable) 5. Freddy Kruger 4. Jerry Dandrige(Fright Night) 3. Chucky 2. Vic Vega(Reservoir Dogs) 1. Allen Ripley(Alien)
Hmmm…. 1. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford just embodied this role and every time I watch this, I always want to walk around with action happening behind me. **2. David Dunn (Unbreakable)-Bruce Willis’s performance is subtle but powerful in this film. There’s stuff in this movie that makes me cry. **3. Vincent (Collateral)-Sure Cruise is crazy and he’s playing himself as Ethan Hunt, but this character in a crime thriller is most notable to me and influential to me. He’s brutal, but also has layers other than being a hitman. 4. Darth Vader-he’s nearly unstoppable. He’s tragic, he’s scary, but the Star Wars series is built around him in a sense. 5. Jack Sparrow-I’ve always loved his lovable rogue aspect. But he’s a despicable man with a heart of gold who just want to see more of unless you’re in films four and 5. Lol but overall he’s one of my favorites and Depp is amazing. 6. Danial Craig’s James Bond-Craig is the most human James Bond with a full story arc. That’s amazing and difficult to do with a history for such a film icon. 7. Caesar-Motion capture and Andy Serkis, is a powerful combination. He’s emotional. 8. Forrest Gump--it’s Tom Hanks :) and classic. 9. Charleze Theron’s Furiosa-you go into a Mad Max Movie for Max but this woman stole the show for me. She’s just incredible and you care for her journey. And she’s bad*** 10. Hugh Jackman’s Logan/Wolverine-I’m with you on this one Cody.
1. Daniel Plainview - There Will Be Blood 2. Michael Corleone - The Godfather Franchise 3. Emperor Palpatine - Star Wars Franchise 4. The Joker- Batman (1989)/ The Dark Knight/ Joker 5. Michael Myers - Halloween Franchise 6. Freddy Krueger - Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise 7. Jack Torrance- The Shining 8. Every Character - The Departed 9. Little Bill Daggett and English Bob- Unforgiven 10. Rahad Jackson and Jack Horner- Boogie Nights
I was excited to see this video and always wanted something like this for a long time. Honorable Mention: John Wick 10. Heath Ledgers Joker (The Dark Knight) 9. Seth Gecko (From dusk till Dawn) 8. Tony Montana (Scarface) 7. Jack Torrance (The Shining) 6. Michael Myers (Halloween) 5. Sidney Prescott (Scream) 4. John McClain (Die Hard) 3. Sarah Connor (Terminator) 2. Rocky Balboa 1. T-800 (Terminator)
@@dertodesking8379 Thanks, From dusk till Dawn has a lot of awesome characters but the one I love the most is Seth Gecko mostly because I love George Clooney as an actor. Same thing with Tony Montana, Scarface is such an iconic film.
@@TwisterTerror Yeah, it was basically a kind of rebirth for Clooney. How he played that character was very surprising at this time in his career! Similar to what happened with John Travolta & Pulp Fiction.
1. T-800 (T2) 2. Lady Eboshi (Princess Mononoke) 3. Tobey Maguire's spiderman 4. Marty Mcfly 5. Nausicaä (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind) 6. Peter Vincent (Fright night 1985 & 1988). Cool list man, not an easy one to make.
My top 10 favourite movie characters are: 1. Caesar (The modern apes films) 2 Captain America (Chris Evans) 3. Spiderman (Tom Holland) 4. Jungle Predator (1987) 5. Sarah Connor (Terminator 2) 6. Koba (modern apes films) 7. Seth Brundle ( The Fly) 8. Robocop 9. Macready ( The Thing) 10. Arthur Fleck (Joker)
Gotta add some comedic characters......Clark Griswold.....Tommy Callahan And then Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Martin Riggs, John Wick, Jason Voorhees, Scarface, Don Corleone, ELLEN RIPLEY!!
This is a near impossible list to make because it would change almost daily. I’d throw Wolverine on there. Ash Williams. Maybe Marty from Cabin in the Woods. Freddy. Stu from Scream. Maybe Zeke from The Faculty. Chucky. Man, there’s too many good characters to narrow it down to just 10. I’d have to at least separate them based on genre and do 10 of each
*My list* 1. The Joker (Heath Ledger) 2. Tony Montana 3. Alita 4. Harry Potter 5. Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride 6. Jason Bourne 7. Travis Bickle 8. Imperator Furiosa 9. Indiana Jones 10. John Wick
Some of my favorite movie characters, heroes and villains, no particular order. James bond (licence to kill) Indiana jones John mcclane Jack ryan Sean miller (patriot games) Alec trevelyan (goldeneye) Franz sanchez (licence to kill) Hans Gruber T-800 Marty mcfly Ian malcolm (the lost world) Jack traven (speed) Dominic toretto(fast and furious) Darren McCord (sudden death) Han solo Nicholas angel (hot fuzz) Heaths joker Batman Darth vader Everyone from tropic thunder.
It would be too hard to come up with top 5, but here are few that come to mind as some of my favorites: Soshanna (from Inglorious Basterds) Virginia and Elizabeth Merrye (Spider Baby) Anakin/Darth Vader Stitch (any/all of the Lilo and Stitch movies) Lawrence Talbot Connor & Murphy McManus Ashley (Evil Dead movies) Too many others to list lol
I whole heartedly believe at least 5 of these would be in my top 20 easy lbs. Cody have you ever heard of the mother of the matrix? This woman wrote a book well the first book in the series in the late 70’s I believe. and it’s basically the terminator and the matrix put together. Few years later the terminator comes out years after that the matrix comes out. She was fighting for decades to get what’s owed to her and finally won! Just a bit of drama to add to the comment section! Lol love the content as usual!
The lawsuit you are talking about here was thrown out of court because of a lack of evidence. The terminator had another lawsuit that was payed in an out of court settlement. That was for copying/plagiarising an episode of the outer limits called Soldier. In the episode 2 soldiers are sent back in time.
I read it was thrown out a bunch of times but she had a lawsuit with the sisters who did the matrix and that’s the one that has finally been settled out of court.
My top ten but not ranked because I love all of them 10. Captain america 9. Andrew garfield spiderman 8. Christian bale batman 7. Marc 6. The spirit 5. Rocky 4. Eric driven 3. Jason voorhees 2. John wick 1. Logan hallet (wolverine)
10. Blade 9. Brendan Conlon tied with Tommy Riordon 8. Wolverine/Logan 7. Maximus Decimas Merideus, General of the Army of the North, Commander of the Felix Legion (IYKYK) 6. Han Solo 5. Doc Holliday (Tombstone) 4. John McClain 3. Indiana Jones 2. Rocky Balboa 1. Steve Rogers/Captain America
Great list! Mine would be: 1. Godzilla- This has been my favorite film franchise since I was four years old. I love the original intent of the character, being a metaphor for the dangers of nuclear weapons. A number of the movies in the series (no matter how strange they get) still keep that general metaphor. Godzilla is a character with films that all age ranges can enjoy. There are mature, thematic movies for adults and there are very kid-friendly movies for younger audiences. Godzilla (the character and the films) have represented the post-WWII anti-nuclear sentiments, corporate greed, Cold War U.S. vs. Soviet conflict, the balance of nature, and the political satire of government, among others aimed at adults while also representing parenthood, anti-bullying, and anti-pollution aimed at kids. The character and franchise has had a major impact on my life. It got me interested in both film and history. Last year, I graduated college with a history major and a film study minor, all because of Godzilla. 2. Bruce Wayne/Batman- My favorite superhero. He's a billionaire who uses his tragic past and his wealth to help Gotham by fighting crime. He also doesn't have superpowers, but his skills in technology, fighting, and being a detective are able to put him alongside some of the most powerful superheroes in DC. 3. Darth Vader- The ultimate villain. 4. Freddy Krueger- My favorite slasher villain. He's unique among the other slashers because he operates in the dream world rather than the real world. He's always entertaining to watch. 5. Norman Bates- The most developed horror villain in my opinion. As a result of his overbearing mother raising him, he's just as much a victim of his mother as his own victims. He's both in denial and not fully aware of his actions. Starting in Psycho II, he tries to resist "Mother" and wants to adjust to a normal life, but he's unable to. He is arguably the most sympathetic villain. 6. The Man with No Name- The ultimate anti-hero. He's smart and always calm, even when in trouble. In A Fistful of Dollars, he's able to manipulate two rival gangs against each other. In The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, he's smart enough to withhold the information about the name on the grave to ensure his own survival. 7. Dirty Harry- A no-nonsense cop who has his issues with the law, and frequently bends the law in pursuit of justice. Regardless, he's effective at his job and brings down numerous criminals. Plus, he carries that awesome Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum revolver! 8. The Joker- Batman's greatest and most iconic villain for a reason. 9. T-800- Counting all versions of the character, but my favorite one is from T2. The T-800 is effective as both an antagonist and a protagonist. I like how in T2 (and to varying levels of success, T3, Genisys, and Dark Fate) the T-800 becomes a protector. Due to his programming, he is 100% determined to complete his assigned mission no matter the cost. T2 does a great job at humanizing him with that one line towards the end about crying despite remaining a cold, emotionless robot. 10. John Rambo- He's a sympathetic war hero. In First Blood, he did nothing wrong at the start but just kept getting pushed into a survivalist and criminal position. In Rambo: First Blood Part II, I like seeing how his skills are put to good use and I like how his moral code and his previous experience in Vietnam tells him to disobey orders and rather than just take photographic evidence of the POW camp, he frees them (I like the second movie more than a lot of people do). In Rambo III and Rambo (2008), he reluctantly gets dragged into conflicts but still wins the day. 11. Rocky Balboa- No explanation needed. Tied with Rambo. Sorry for the long comment. These are just some brief thoughts no some of my favorite characters.
Learned a lot about you through this list, it was great & in depth. Top 10 video game characters is my next suggestion for you. & top 10 villains (ever).

Had to think a while for my top 10 character list: 1) Sarah Conner 2) Ellen Ripley 3) Harley Quinn 4) Joker (1989, Dark Knight & Hamill versions) 5) Michael Biehn (ok I'm totally cheating since this an actor, not a character. But the man played Kyle Reece, Dwayne Hicks and Johnny Ringo in Tombstone. He counts.) 6) Doc Holiday (Tombstone) 7) John Milton (Devils Advocate) 8) Beetlejuice 9) Warwick Davis (like Biehn, he's had a ton of iconic roles like Willow, Leprechaun, and Wicket the main Ewok. I've also met him, he's very very nice). 10) Anne Boleyn (Anne of the Thousand Days. This film was made in 1969 and featured Geneviève Bujold and Richard Burton as Anne and Henry VIII. There's a reason she received a best actress nomination, and I can't stress enough how people should see this film).
When I saw Toby McGuire come though that portal in No Way Home...I cheered and applauded. Maybe we'll see more of him in future Spider-Man films...Someday.
As far as villains go, my top favorite cinema villain of all time is Palpatine. He's the ultimate master manipulator, is arguably the most powerful force character at least in the movie canon, and if you consider all his actions including in the Clone Wars series, achieved one of the greatest and most clever feats of any villain. Plus, Ian McDiarmid portrays him fantastically. Growing up seeing him from Return of the Jedi and especially the prequels, he was always my idea of "the ultimate villain."
My 10 favourite main characters in cinema ever. 10. Marty Mcfly (Back To The Future) 9. The GHOSTBUSTERS crew (GHOSTBUSTERS) 8. ROBOCOP (Alex Murphy) 7. T-800 (The Terminator) 6. One of my favorite movie characters is Perseus from Clash of the Titans. I like him more than Hercules because he is more humble. He has done just as much as his half brother in that movie. He tames Pegasus. He defeats Medusa and the Kracken. He is just as great as Hercules and it never goes to his head.
Ash from the evil dead is my favourite movie character of all time. Arkin out of the collector has the potential to be one of my favourite movie characters, if only we can get that third movie to finish his character arc into badassery, there's still hope
When Chucky got 4, Freddy got 3 I was like who the hell is 1 or 2🤣 Can't argue with your choice though ! Great list Cody! Really need to check out those apes movies soon🙂

Wow, Rocky! Dam good choice, didn't think about him, but then again Rambo's cool, I like Cobra better than Rambo, no franchise though, very underrated film and character.

Yo Cody ! Lmk what you think my man 👏🏾 1.) John wick 2.) Joker (Heath ledger) 3.)Michael Myers 4.) Ghostface 5.) SpiderMan (Andrew Garfield) 6.) IP Man 7.) Seth (Superbad) 8.) Jack Sparrow 9.) Stanley Ipkis (The Mask) 10.) Jackie Chan &Chris tucker (rush hour )
Before the first Spiderman movie came out, I was introduced to the character by Spiderman the animated series. I didn't know who Tobey Maguire was prior to this film, I was nine going on ten years old when it came out. Even though I grew to like Garfield's Spiderman and appreciate Holland by the end of No Way Home, Maguire's era will always be my favorite.
Great vid. My top 10: 10 Norman Bates (Psycho) 9 Riggs and Murtagh (Lethal Weapon) 8 Otto (A Fish Called Wanda) 7 Selina Kyle (Batman Returns) 6 Harry Callahan (Dirty Harry) 5 Sidney Prescott (Scream) 4 Dr. Sam Loomis (Halloween) 3 Axel Foley (Beverly Hills Cop) 2 John McClane (Die Hard) 1 Michael Myers (Halloween)
No Snake Plissken? Or RJ McReady? One of those guys gotta make the list if we are talking about cool characters. Loved listening to your reasonings behind your picks, keep the great content coming.

@@JaceDeanLove I just mean as Parker. He had more of a brooding emo thing going on and had the fast mouth still.
totally agree!!!
I love Rose The Hat 🎩 from Dr. Sleep & Max Cady from Cape Fear. They’re 2 of the more underrated characters in film.
Great characters
Hey Cody leach will you review ambulance and does it look like an entertaining fun exiting action movie

Once again, great piece, Cody. I teared up during your WOLVERINE segment.
Great list! Mine would be:

1) Sarah Conner
2) Ellen Ripley
3) Harley Quinn
4) Joker (1989, Dark Knight & Hamill versions)
5) Michael Biehn (ok I'm totally cheating since this an actor, not a character. But the man played Kyle Reece, Dwayne Hicks and Johnny Ringo in Tombstone. He counts.)
6) Doc Holiday (Tombstone)
7) John Milton (Devils Advocate)
8) Beetlejuice
9) Warwick Davis (like Biehn, he's had a ton of iconic roles like Willow, Leprechaun, and Wicket the main Ewok.
Godzilla, Dr.Strange, Jason Voorhess …. my top

Although they are movie and TV characters, how about Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as step awesome, well made characters
