Yeah I agree. Infact out of the all the sequels in the conjuring universe it's about the same as the Nun 2 if not lower but not as low as Annabelle 3 in my opinion.

Psycho 2 is one of my favorite movies of all time But the part and cycle 3 when Norman Bates is walking up the stairs trying to kill the lady and she corrects the picture on the wall the Crooked picture God that put Trails down my spine
So excited to see this video! I'm currently making a list of different movie (primarily horror) franchises/series (or like what I consider sister movies example Midsommar and Hereditary) to binge watch while my job does a complete remodel for a month! Definetly adding these to my list!
Cody I am a huge fan and I have been binge watching your channel. I saw Deadpool and Wolverine last night with my sons and literally screamed your name out loud during a certain scene! I hope you review it!!
I remember months ago shutting you off and vowing to never watch again when I heard one of your takes on The Excorcist lmao. But I found myself coming back because of your honesty & down to earth vibe. Now you're my favorite film channel 😂 keep it up bro 👍
What's up Cody?! I've been waiting for this list a long, long time man! Grabbing myself a pizza and a cold beer and watch this video! Thanks alot for all you excellent content!
I think Tremors is an underrated horror franchise. Not many people classify it as horror but that first one was scary as a kid and second one was action packed! They did fall victim to the 3rd movie not being as good as the first two but would love to hear you review the franchise/ first 2-3 movies.
1: The Child's Play Trilogy (A consistent trilogy that completes Andy's arc as a protagonist and cements Chucky as a horror icon.) 2: Alien, Alien: Romulus, Aliens (While a bit disconnected, all three installments were great examples of sci fi horror.) 3: Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween H20 (After mulling it over for a bit, I agree. This is the true story arc for Lauire Strode.) 4: The Evil Dead Trilogy (Continuity problems from 1 and 2 aside, Sam Rami created something that was a horrific blood bath.)
Yoooo! This is my first full video of yours I’ve watched and I am definitely a fan and subscriber now 🙏🏻 Totally understand and appreciate all of your choices even if they may not make my top 10. & I love the Halloween “choose your own adventure” of it all. Michael is definitely been my favorite of all time. & I just love Carpenter movies. But funny enough I think for my personal list I’d say H1 (79), H2 (81) and Halloween (2018). Just love the way he was brought back to life for a new generation in that film as well as Laurie’s evolution. Anyway, absolutely love the way you framed this conversation & also kept spoilers out in talking about them. Great content! Excited to watch more
The only potential issue is that, with the way Cody was approaching this, “New Nightmare” wouldn’t really work as it acknowledges that there have been 6 Freddy movies. I guess one could argue that in “New Nightmare,” the mentioning of various sequels could just be something written into the story so that we as an audience would know that Freddy became some successful franchise which we “never saw.” *wink wink* Because it is true, you don’t have to see Nightmares 2,4,5 or 6 for the “Nancy trilogy” to be perfectly cohesive. Sooo, it’s a bit of a stretch, but I guess it could work. Either way, I imagine Cody still chose 1, 3, and 4 due to sentimental reasons. He’s a pretty nostalgic guy. 😁
I love how high up you have the Peal X and Maxxxine as I think they are that unique! I don’t know why but I just love Pearl so much how you feel about X I feel about Pearl it’s so amazing to me
The biggest problem with Scream in my opinion is that the first one was so incredible they set a bar that was never gonna be cleared or even reached again. I'll have to take your word for it on part 6 because I hated 5 so much I haven't seen 6 and have no desire too.
Totally agree with you Cody on the "Halloween" trilogy you picked. Luv "Halloween", "Halloween II" and "Halloween H20". It should have ended in that order imo.
They killed Newt because the actress had grown too much, so they had to kill her or recast her. They chose to kill her. Never had a problem with who they killed. I viewed it as Ripley's story
As someone who saw your positive reviews for the first three films in the Phantasm series, I'm surprised they didn't appear here on the list but of course no one knows your tastes better than you do.
Halloween has to be my favorite trilogy. Although many of the timelines can get confusing but , they’re classics and I’ll always watch them every Halloween / fall
@danielkinn782 William Peterson was so bad ass during that time period, too. To Live and Die in L.A. is another classic people really never talk about.
My brother, I had to pause on 2:00, did you say the collector 3rd film is back on track? Idk if you remember my comment on your horror hot take poll, but I love that franchise. Something happen?
A decent Top 10 list man, I loved how you went about some of these. Halloween 1, 2 and H20 was a good choice. A Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3 and 4 I loved that ideas as a trilogy too.
Hilarious, when I saw the title of the video I paused and googled and had every thought you mentioned in the intro.. Ya gotta be smart for this type of stuff
I absolutely adore George A. Romero’s “Of The Dead” trilogy, idk if that has crossed your mind when making this or doesn’t agree with your criteria but I think thematically it is so interesting and complex and each entry brings new elements and settings of the same world and the progression of this zombie virus is awesome! I would say this trilogy is to horror as planet of the apes is to sci-fi in terms of storytelling, themes, and importance to the genre it belongs to. Also I think nightmare -> Dream warriors -> new nightmare is also a solid trilogy but i understand your preference for the one you listed
Yeah, I was thinking that would make an appearance but by the time he reached the top 4 I knew it wouldn’t be that high. The first two movies in the trilogy stack up against any other franchise and the 3rd one is pretty solid too.
Exactly. love H20. Halloween one, two and H20 is the official Halloween trilogy in my mind. Just the vibe, feeling and setting of H20 is awesome. But im also biased towards late 90s and early 2000s based on nostalgia for my youth lol

I always consider Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3 and Wes Craven's New Nightmare as a trilogy. All three are with Nancy/Heather Langenkamp, it's a great way to watch the best three nightmare movies
@Cody Leach another idea for a top 10 type list could be, “Top 10 hottest ladies in horror” just something to consider, I know that’s a very subjective list but, all top 10’s are and to me that’s the fun of top 10 lists is when another fan of a particular thing has wildly changing top 10’s from you, you can “respectfully” debate why one is better than the other which, “respectfully” almost seems like a curse word in and of itself when it comes to the comments section of UA-cam anymore just being real
Nice list and fully respect your love for these gems. I would add in this list Friday the 13th part, 2, 3 & 4 the final chapter. You could call these the Human Jason trilogy. The first one is Mrs Vorhees on its own and the others part 6,7 & 8 are zombie Jason.
Child's Play is the only horror movie that, as a kid, caused me to have nightmares. The fear Chucky instilled in me made me get rid of and never want to own any dolls ever again. Dolls still creep me out but I'm better, for the most part, when around them. For a long time, if I had to be around one, I couldn't do anything but constantly keep an eye on it to make sure it wasn't doing anything on its own. All my attention would be on it. I couldn't concentrate or correctly participate in anything that was going on around me. I still don't own or have any dolls in my house. Freddy is my favorite!!!!!
Childs Play, Evil Dead (Raimi ones) and now the Maxine trilogy are my top 3 for sure. Couldn't be happier about the reannouncement of The Collected😬 Got a feeling it's gonna be the best underrated trilogy in the genre
My favorite NOES trilogy would be the Nancy trilogy: 1, 3, and 7. I find Langenkamp’s performance in New Nightmare is her best in the series and the perfect conclusion to the storyline and also pretty groundbreaking as a film.
I havent checked the comments yet, but i know you were focusing on 3s, but i wanted to mention that the 4th hannibal film, hannibal rising, i really enjoyed that one!
I'm right there with you on Alien 3. I have seen a lot of reappraisal of it in recent years and I simply cannot get past the opening and it doesn't matter what I think about the other 95% of the movie. It's DOA.

Hey Cody! An idea for your next tier list could be horror movie settings (i.e. forests, cemeteries, farms, hospitals, haunted house, churches, space)
Love this, yes!
Great idea.
Love it
Cool idea
Oh I’ve got a whole text document full of future ideas…including this one! Thanks for the suggestion.
I wont lie a top 20 kills in horror movies would be one wild ride
I second this!
Definitely the mouth rip in Hatchet would be in there.
Yoga kill from IAVN
The Ghost Ship "dance floor floss" definitely has to be on this, as well as the "system purge button" from Cabin In The Woods!

So hyped for the collected 🎉. He only takes one 😈.
Romero Zombie Trilogy!!! Night / Dawn / Day
Totally agree, Halloween 1,2 and H20 is the best time line.
I havent checked the comments yet, but i know you were focusing on 3s, but i wanted to mention that the 4th hannibal film, hannibal rising, i really enjoyed that one!
Love u cody!!!! Thanks for always helping me get through cooking
I'm right there with you on Alien 3. I have seen a lot of reappraisal of it in recent years and I simply cannot get past the opening and it doesn't matter what I think about the other 95% of the movie. It's DOA.
I nearly fainted when I saw number 3. Man I really hate those movies especially Maxxine but to each their own I love ur content
