Could you do a movie review on the 1999 Comedy film Life please? It’s a funny movie
Are u not a fan of the conjuring movies .. wanna hear ur reviews
So cool tysm!
CODY!!!! You ever rank you're favorite Horror director's? Or thought about doing it?
@Cody Leach I agree with you at 4:27 and 9:41. Wreck It Ralph 2 was terrible and I am actually gonna be reviewing and ranting on both The Hangover sequels
Honorable Mention.
The Crow.
If Brandon Lee had survived making the first one, then maybe, but there was no need to make 3 more.
Yes I agree. The original had the perfect ending, making three more movies was totally unnecessary especially with Brandon Lee gone.
Four words:
Son of The Mask
One of the worst movies ever lol.
A family picture.
Forgot about this one. Dreadful movie. I also don't like ace Ventura 2, its horrible.
You're right. Son of the Mask is a masterpiece. To give it a sequel would be blasphemy
😂😆
Finding Nemo. While Finding Dory does explain a bit more on Dory's forgetfulness, it didn't need to be made.
When I was a kid I really really wanted a sequel to Finding Nemo. But when it came out?... They waited way too long to actually make it, so I wasn't bothered about it much anymore, I saw it in like 2018, years after it came out. And it's a good movie!.. But I agree, it didn't really need to be made and I think if they were going to make a sequel then they should have done it ages ago when I still wanted it.
FD was amazing idc
@@ghettoeasterbasket5638 I wouldn't agree that it's amazing, but I do think that it's good.
Still think they should have released it a decade earlier though.
I disagree
Finding dory is a good movie. Just as good as the original.
Jaws definitely did not need any sequels
I’d agree with Halloween, but, I’m someone who would’ve preferred that if Halloween continued, they followed up on Carpenter’s plans for 3, where every sequel is a completely new story, instead of continuing the story of Michael Myers.
Same.
Me too. They beat that story to death
Exactly...I know I'm in the minority but I've never been compelled to know more about Michael Myers' story after the first film...every film beating the story to death
That woulda been cool
I like the anthology idea but people would want some kind of tie in to every other movie in the series. Season of the Witch should have been released as its own entity. Probably would have fared better
I’d add The Descent, it was a great film. The sequel was not needed.
Great pick
while i agree it definitely didn't need a sequel, i thought the sequel was pretty badass despite the ending
@@keeganconnolly9785 I liked to sequel as well. Both are pretty good
Terminator 2 is one of the greatest sequels ever made
It is one of the greatest movies ever made!
Very true.
Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island didn't need a sequel.
Didint even know it had a sequel. Loved that movie as a kid. Probably a blessing in disguise 😂
@@theobsidiansimp8626 be glad you didn't
I don't recommend NOBODY to ever watch the sequel if you want to know about it watch all the reviews for that movie but I don't recommend ANYONE to ever watch that film pretend it don't exist.
Zombie Island was perfect on its own
I agree. That movie is perfect as it is.
- The Decent
- Hot Tub Time Machine
- Sinister
- An American Werewolf in London
- Escape from New York
- Kick Ass
- 300
No order on any of these
I could not agree more on Hot Tub Time Machine. Without John Cusack as the emotional heart of the group, and moving Rob Cordery to the head of the group … woof.
I thought Kick Ass 2 was just as good as the first one, if not better. I loved Mother Russia
@@charoleawood thats fair! It just didn’t work for me. I thought it really needed Matthew Vaughn back as the director. I do agree on mother russia she was awesome
@@redwingsrock66 I liked Kick Ass 2 first time I saw it but then I have grown to dislike it over time. Did not need to be made. I would also include Saw III. Saw II and III should have been the only two saw sequels made
There a sequel to an American werewolf in London I did not know that
Backdraft 2 never should have existed. Coming out with a sequel nearly 30 years after a stand alone movie is not a recipe for success.
I saw it I was like backdraft 2 then after watching it I was like the guy they picked to be Kurt russels grown son from the first just sucked
@@jakepayne2985 And it was straight to dvd
Also you should rank the insidious movies and the conjuring universe movies.
I second this
The conjuring and insidious 2 would be first
@@jokerfett5652 doubt it. There is a very small line between the conjuring 1 and 2. Annabelle creation is so good that I wouldn't be surprised if someone put it as top two if not top 3.
@@jokerfett5652 And, I might be part of the unpopular opinion that insidious 1 is scarier and better than 2.
Totally disagree about the Conjuring films. It’s a universe and connected like Marvel. Didn’t hear you say that about Marvel. Though do agree about Insidious
Honorable mention to The Sandlot, like seriously this has to be one of the greatest movies ever made, that should have never had a sequel, and unfortunately those sequels are complite re-hashes (I do like to think that production forThe Sandlot 2 is basically an alternative Universe where Gus Van Sant did a shot for shot remake of the sandlot but accidentally typed a "2" in the title).
@Gansta Maguire I agree with you on Sandlot too :). I also made three episodes of this video title on my channel as well because I came up with 31 movies that had too many unnecessary sequels and The Sandlot is on my 2nd one. Feel free to check them out
Dumb and dumber, easiest pick ever. Lol
The comedy genre as a whole doesn't lend itself well to sequels. The premise is often so outrageous that it only works once. When you try to repeat it, it just comes off as stupid and unfunny. A joke is usually never funny the second time around.
Dumber and dumber 2 was good tho, I hated the prequel
@@SlasherIncorporated My list would be Home Alone (even though I like Lost In New York), The Sandlot, Independence Day, SPEED, The Hangover, TAKEN, Terminator 2, TRANSFORMERS 07, The LEGO Movie, ROBOCOP, and The Lost Boys
I'd still love to see what would have happened to HALLOWEEN if each movie was a standalone like season of the witch.sigh.
Season of the witch was good I don’t understand the hate for it but it was because they wanted Myers but even though I love a lot of the movies I still think they should have just left michael dead like carpenter wanted
I actually think everything after 3 was dog shit, yes even 4 and H20. I love 2018 though and I do appreciate Rob Zomhie’s movies for what they are even though we didn’t need them. I would have welcomed an anthology franchise completely.
Yeah I use to hate season of the witch when I was younger but once I understood what they were trying to do I thought it was the best sequel.
Love season of the witch.
It would have actually been kinda interesting if we had decades' worth of new Halloween stories and then had Michael's grand return in 2018
I don’t think the Matrix should have had any sequels. I honestly don’t think scream should have had any sequels even though I like them. I think they aren’t necessary at all.
And yet Animatrix is my favorite thing to have come out of the franchise, not the original Matrix
Never liked the sequels. The animatrix is where it's at honestly.
glyn I agree on Scream's sequels. Even though they are well made, the sequels are too 'spooflike'. I know the original Scream was poking fun at horror tropes, but it was still a somewhat scary movie apart from the tropes. The sequels were missing something.
The Matrix Revolutions is a piece of shit godawful movie! Wasted $20 on it with my Walmart gift card after I graduated but thankfully my mom got me Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 on the PS2 to make up for that trainwreck of a sequel.
@@ShadowsegaExaid
Revolutions > Reloaded
Originally, the second Jaws was going to be a prequel focusing on Quint and the Indianapolis survivors.
The exorcist should have never had sequels even though the 3rd one is damn good
Also the third one is known for one of the most iconic jumpscares of all time and done Right !
Really good pick
While I agree with you in principle, 3 is just too good to fully commit to no sequels. Also may not be popular, I actually enjoy the beginning as well
@@Possum880 I think the exorcist the beginning is a piece of shit movie but that's my opinion and opinions are like assholes everyone has one
I Still haven’t seen the Heretic, and I don’t plan to, cause I’ve heard SOOO MANY awful things about it.
I didn’t even know Speed had a sequel.
I'm a huge Halloween fan and enjoy some of the sequels. But I agree that it works better as a stand-alone movie.
Strongly disagree... it wouldn't be near as popular without a franchise
I agree
@@alexanderarmstrong5306 Yes it would be popular even if Michael Myers had just one movie. It works so much better than Endless Michael Myers repetition. Confusing Timelines, Stupid Siblings Twists, Michael Myers being treated like Jason Voorhees/The Terminator. Halloween 2018 being JUST CALLED HALLOWEEN! Rob Zombie portraying Michael as the bullied abused victim
As a fanatic of the Halloween franchise, I have to say you’re not wrong at all. I feel like the best idea for “sequels” would be the anthology route it took with the 3rd movie
Movies I think of that didn’t need a sequel are:
The Crow (1994)
The Blues Brothers (1980)
Megamind (2010)
Jaws (1975)
Highlander (1986)
I actually agree with halloween being on here. Even though some of the sequels bring novelties, the original is perfect with all them supernatural wonders
Halloween was supposed to be a standalone film, so you're right to put it here.
It’s a shame it never became what it was originally intended to be. I think it would’ve been a great anthology series for Carpenter. Instead they just milked the Michael Myers character for every penny until he became another Jason Voorhes.
I completely agree with Halloween! Even though I like some of the sequels, that ending where he gets shot six times and disappears into the night. Meanwhile you hear his breathing getting louder and louder as it shows all of the different locations he’s been throughout the film confirming he’s the boogeyman and he could be anywhere. Perfect ending and it was ruined because there were sequels.
Actually, T2 had an alternate ending where Judgement Day doesn't happy, Sarah and John lived normal lives, and happy ending.
But fucking Hollywood only cares about fucking money
Sleepaway Camp sure didn't need sequels after the first one,
Robocop and Predator should never have had sequels either in my opinion. Those are perfect as they are.
Jaws, Nightmare On Elm Street, Psycho (even though 2 is just as good), Halloween (even though 2 and H20 are also good), Silence Of The Lambs (didn’t need to redo the prequel either because Manhunter was a lot better), The Matrix, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hellraiser (even though 2 was also good), Jurassic Park, Independence Day, The Strangers, The Shining, Wolf Creek.
Nightmare on Elm St part 3 Dream Warriors is better than the original
@@israelbenitez6346 No it’s not
Oh yes it is...Mr. Leach has even said so, that's why he didn't include nightmare on Elm st on this list
MOST people, including myself, prefer Dream Warriors to the original..I LOVE THE ORIGINAL..but Dream Warriors IS better
I was curious what number 1 was gonna be and then Jaws instantly popped into my head during the dramatic pause
Was not expecting Halloween, but I can’t argue the logic.
I’d argue Ghostbusters should be on there. Even though I like GB2, I can admit it is a pale shadow of the original.
I personally think you need Halloween 2 but after that yeah.
I wouldn’t mind Halloween sequels if they gone the direction that Season of the Witch did. That would’ve made a worthwhile franchise in my opinion
@@Dutch_man20 Season of the Witch? Lol that movie is terrible, one of the worst “horror” movies I’ve ever seen.
@@austinreed347 why? Because Michael Meyers wasn’t in it?
@@Dutch_man20 because it was a bad 80s movie with even worse acting. My mom walked out of the room after 20 minutes and said “No Thanks” I finished it and really regret it. Plus the main character cheats on his wife and is supposed to be a cool or good protagonist? I don’t understand why everyone likes this movie.
Nightmare on Elm Street should be a trilogy and Friday the 13th should be quadrilogy.
Agreed. Which way would you put it out of curiosity. Nightmare 1 through 3 in that order or skip part 2 and do 1 3 and 4? Also Friday 1 through 4 up to the final chapter? Yeah I would agree with that one.
@@adamandanna I would have had Nightmare 1, 3 and 7 as a trilogy, that would have been perfect
@@The-Xclusiveeeee what about 4?
Either Final Chapter or Jason Lives should have been Friday the 13th's ending.
Nightmare 3 should’ve been the only sequel and then boom story closed .
The big one for me is Robocop, that film never needed a sequel. The whole story is in the first one, at the end he’s human again, he’s Murphy.
Others I can think of Highlander, The Mummy (or at least the sequel should have gone to another Universal monster), Beverley Hills Cop, Escape From New York, and so many more.
Agreed. How Cody Leach feels about The Matrix sequels is how i feel about the ROBOCOP sequels. Aka the JAWS franchise of cyborg films where it has one AMAZING first film and two shitty sequels
Fast and Furious would’ve been somewhere on my list it should’ve ended a decade ago 😂
Omg yes, talking about Milking a movie, Jesus Christmas.
No.
Thank you, finally somebody else agrees with me.
Candyman did not need the sequels it's had so far IMHO, the second just feels it retreads the plot of the original and the third, egads, that was AWFUL. I hope the newest sequel due does right where the others have failed miserably so far.
Yeah the first one was great and had a perfect ending for Helen.
It didn't help that the 2 shitty sequels changed him from a living urban legend kept alive by people's belief in him who periodically killed whenever someone tried to get people to think he didn't exist to a vengeful ghost who lived inside a mirror.
@@Xehanort10 Cody Leach at 11:04 is EXACTLY how I feel about the Candyman sequels
1:45 - Halloween (1978)
4:26 - Wreck-It Ralph
5:58 - Speed
7:39 - Terminator 2: Judgement Day
9:34 - The Hangover
11:01 - The Lost Boys
12:17 - Taken
It still baffles me that you have to prep & brace for Halloween fans before you say anything about it because God forbid you have any constructive criticism! 🙄🥴
I'm a Halloween fan but I find the fanboys who lose it when the series is criticised annoying as well.
@@Xehanort10 Same, I’m one of the biggest Halloween fans and I criticize the franchise more than a person who actually hates the movies.
@Mark Green care to elaborate?
Facts
@@williamsummerson1204 hopefully those delusional Halloween fans don’t give Cody a hard time this time
Some runner ups:
The Exorcist
Die Hard
Home Alone
The Karate Kid
Blues Brothers
Ghostbusters
Pirates of the Caribbean and the black Pearl
The Mask
An American werewolf in London
Agree with everything except Pirates of the Caribbean. I think 2 and 3 are just as good as the first
I will say, although maybe The Exorcist didn’t deserve a sequel, Exorcist III kicks major ass.
Karate Kid I can live with since it's inspired some great TV with Cobra Kai.
@@jasonchilado agree to disagree. I thought they felt more like retreads like let's have them do the same bit with the same line from the first one but it's not as funny. They based it off an amusement park ride the fact they got one good movie out of it was an accomplishment. Plus by the end I hated Will and Elizabeth's character arcs. I only cared about Jack Sparrow and Barbosa
I’m actually glad the second Home Alone exists because we get more traps that are even more deadlier, over-the-top and better than the first film’s traps that look weak in comparison. Plus, Tim Curry as a creepy hotel concierge. Need I say more?
Also also, the Malcalisters (minus Buzz and Uncle Frank) are WAY more likable than the first film and don’t make me wish they really disappeared.
Great choice of video. I would have put the following too -
1. American Psycho.
2. Pet Semetary.
3. Candyman.
4. From Dusk Till Dawn.
5. Hellraiser 4: Bloodline.
6. Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
7. Silence of the Lambs.
8. Predator.
9. Aliens.
10. Friday 13th.
Unpopular opinion: Back to the Future. The original was perfect, and the ending, too.
Also, Michael J Fox, as great as he is, clearly looks nearly 30 by the third movie.
@Wojak Ralph was actually older filming that movie than the guy playing Terry Silver, who was supposed to be a Vietnam vet.
@Wojak Oh yeah that was rough. Both of them. You can see especially on Blu-Ray they’re caked in foundation to cover up the pre-30 crows feet and head wrinkles. Worse in 4K
I almost put back to the future on my list but I had a feeling that I would get a shit load of backlash.
I'm going to add Pirates of the Caribbean to this list.
In my opinion, 2 and 3 are just as good as the first. 3 is my favorite in the whole series. It should’ve stayed a trilogy as 4 and 5 were when I thought they became cash grabs.
I agree 100% with Halloween. Works best without an explanation
My Top 10:
1.) Highlander (1986)
2.) Jaws (1975)
3.) The Crow (1994)
4.) Mean Girls (2004)
5.) Speed (1994)
6.) The Mask (1994)
7.) Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
8.) The Hitcher (1986)
9.) The Lost Boys (1987)
10.) Taken (2009)
I COMPLETELY agree with Halloween. I like some of its sequels, but they don't need to exist. The ending was perfect.
Coming to America is the most recent example I can think of
I actually didn’t mind coming to American 2
It was terrible
I’m actually surprised that you didn’t include the Pet Sematary 2 (1992) on this list, considering how good the first one was
@@CapedCrusador578 oh don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy it for what it is, but it was still an unnecessary sequel though
There's a sequel?
DUDE! Highlander! It's even in the damn tag line "There can be only ONE"!
But I have always loved the series, I grew up watch the series
There should have been one highlander film.
@@williamsummerson1204 yep! And I'm not even all that interested in the reboot.
I felt like that movie had the perfect ending and sequels were unnecessary.
Wow I was so expecting to see The Fast And Furious Franchise
None of them were ever good though.
In no particular order….
1. Speed
2. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (yes it has a sequel)
3. Jaws
4. Taken
5. Home Alone & Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
6. Monsters, Inc.
7. Batman (1989)
8. Independence Day
9. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
10. Kindergarten Cop
Think Halloween needed a part 2 just because the end left people wondering what happen to Michael I know John Carpenter wanted to end it like that but I feel it would been an unfinish work of art! Good Review
How about Aliens? Ridley Scott and James Cameron explored everything that needed to be explored with that concept
I don't actually mind either of the Hangover sequels.
Love the 1st one the 2nd one is okay but the third was ok
I find the third one hilarious and I enjoy the second one
I actually like Hangover 3 but 2 was rough.
I 100% agree with Halloween. It was so much more terrifying not knowing why he killed.
Great content!! Huge movie buff but no one does as thoroughly as this platform, please keep it coming
Such an underrated channel!! Love the work bro keep it up
1. The Butterfly Effect (Butterfly Effect 2, third film was okay but oh my God) - yes they did a sequel and it didn't even attempt to make it as good as the first one. Again, third film is okay but the second one irritates every time and I hate the fact that I own it with the first movie.
2. The Hangover
3. The Lost Boys
4. Speed
5. The Lost Boys
6. Joker (just a rumor but still)
7. The Crow
8. The Mask
I don't mind Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions but I definitely can understand where you're coming from with these picks. Good video, Cody.
I use to have a copy of butterfuly effect with part two on the same disc. I was so mad I grab another copy that didnt have part 2 on it lol
None of these originals needed to happen (except Matrix and Speed) in the first place haha
@@boromir0062 I hear you. I hate that second one even more.
I agree with all of these esp Jaws! Even though i enjoy some of the sequels, i would say Die Hard. Its perfect on its own.
Die Hard with a Vengeance is a worthy sequel
Die Hard is a good example. While I do enjoy the sequels aside from A Good Day to Die Hard, they really didn't need to happen. How many times can ONE man find himself in the same situation over and over? Nobody's that unlucky. We don't think about that while we're watching, but it really does seem silly and unrealistic. None of the sequels ever topped the original for me either. The first one is still my favorite.
@@SlasherIncorporated if they’re good, logic doesn’t matter.
@@nocap4557 it is a true sequel cuz it tied to the original with Hans's brother Simon. Throw in Sam J and its a treat!
Your ranking videos are my favorite videos you do!
Hot take: I friggen LOVE the matrix sequels.
+Adam Schwartz
Same here.
So do I
100% agree on Halloween! Should have been stand alone film
I loved some of the sequels but it does work better as a one and done film
Agreed. The anthology concept would've been awesome though.
@@quentinross2104 Either that or stop the franchise at the sequel.
@@justnolan9503 fax Halloween 2 was the perfect ending but also Halloween H2O was 2
Halloween 3 Season Of The Witch definitely should never have been made, because it is one of the worst and biggest pieces of shit movies I’ve ever seen.
Blues Brothers should have never gotten a sequel. The only good thing about the sequel was the soundtrack.
There was no point in doing a sequel with John Belushi’s death.
@@hunterolaughlin Jim Belushi, John’s brother, is still alive. He should have been in the movie. I like John Goodman but Jim Belushi is what we needed. I know he isn’t as funny as his brother but he knows the routine. He did promotional concerts with Dan for the movie. That made me think he was going to be in the movie.
Jurassic Park did not need a sequel, especially with how the second trilogy would end up being. The Lost World and Jurassic Park III are average sequels, but for me, some movies should have just stayed as one-offs, and Jurassic Park is one of them.
Not gonna lie, the Jurassic World sequels made me appreciate the original Jurassic Park sequels. At least the Jurassic Park sequels had some elements in them that made them memorable, whether decent or dumb and at least when they had their stupid moments, it wasn’t as frustratingly stupid as the ones in the Jurassic World trilogy.
The Crow. The first was iconic and classic. They should have never made sequels. None even compared to the perfection of the first one. It tainted the legacy of the first and the brilliance of Brandon Lees character snd it was a tragic iconic comic book movie and should have been left alone.
Jaws
Texas Chainsaw
The Exorcist
The Hangover
Old School
@Hannah Louise Fletcher If he hadn't died you would not think this way. Admit it.
I agree with most of these, if not all. But the Matrix 100% should have never had any sequels. The film literally ends where Neo became the One, the Matrix crashed and he began to wake up those trapped inside. It would have been fine if they made spin-offs. But official sequels, no.
Also, Die Hard and/or Die Hard 3 should have never had sequels. Die Hard 2 was sort of boring, but 4, 5 and 6 are absolute trash. There's absolutely nothing redeeming about them. Die Hard 3 worked well not just because of the well crafted action scenes and the great chemistry between John and Zeus, not to mention a pretty badass villain - but the story also made sense as a sequel. It made sense for John to be stuck in that situation, given the revenge angle that Gruber presented, even if it was mostly just a smoke screen.
These intros always put a smile on my face.
Movies that never needed sequels
1. A nightmare on elmstreet
2. Jurrasic park
3. The karate kid
4. Halloween
5. The Santa clause
6. Home alone
7. Cars
Some of my movies that did not need a part 2. #1 Speed. #2 The Tv movie to Dirty Dancing. #3 Grease. #4 The Exorcist. #5 Gone with the wind. #6 Witch Board. #7 Wrong Turn. #8 Die Hard. #9. Steel Magnolias remake. #10. Sleepaway Camp.
I couldn’t agree with you more with everything you said, especially The Matrix. I like the sequels but quite honestly I don’t re-visit them very often.
Quentin Tarantino hated the Matrix sequels cause he felt that they ruined the mythology of the first film. Tarantino praised the first Matrix and put it in his 20 favorite movies from 1992 to 2009
A Nightmare on Elm st.
While I absolutely love dream warriors (my favorite) i think it worked perfect as a stand alone movie. (-the last like 10 minutes)
I agree but, one thing I'd change is the ending! I grew up watching A nightmare on Elm street, love it so much, and as I got older i started hating the ending even more! Nonetheless, I love that movie and it made me love horror as a child!
Completely agree. Much emphasis on the " - the last 10 minutes "
Nightmare is one franchise where I think most of the films are really enjoyable. Maybe minus Freddy's Dead and the remake. But even so I do kind of still enjoy those films.
Air Bud. It was a kinda goofy but fun, sometimes heartwarming, sometimes very sad and depressing movie that I loved as a kid. It did NOT need all of those sequels. It just got ridiculous after a while. The first movie made sense as to how and why the dog could play Basketball, but the next movie he can suddenly play Football and then I don't even remember what all the rest were... it just got so stupid the longer it went.
This is a great list! Although, I enjoy some of the sequels to these movies, I can totally agree!
I would add "The Descent" to this list. It didn't need a sequel (even though it's a guilty-pleasure for me).
I have to add
- The Exorcist
- Blair Witch Project
Paranormal Activity
I agree with you on Halloween. I like some of the sequels but I think if they didn’t exist, the ending of the original would be even more memorable. I would miss Season of the Witch though.
I agree but Season of the Witch could have still existed by just being called Season of the Witch and not part of the Halloween franchise because the way I see it’s only a Halloween movie by name.
@@jamieward3260 i wish all the Halloween Sequels never existed. Here are my reasons why
1. Confusing Timelines
2. Stupid Siblings Twist
3. Supernatural Cult Thorn Twist
4. Rob Zombie's Remakes
5. Halloween 2018 being JUST CALLED HALLOWEEN!
6. The endless sequels are responsible for the modern reception of the original 1978 film where people mostly young audiences say it doesn't hold up anymore and it's "not scary"
7. Michael Myers being treated like Jason Voorhees/The Terminator
Great video Cody. Cant really argue with any of these picks although I dont mind the 2nd matrix film
Nicely done, Cody! I came in expecting to argue or disagree but that is a pretty fantastic list! Thumbs up, sir…
Jurassic Park. Perfect film. All sequels inferior retreads.
Anytime Cody puts out a video that may anger pathetic Halloween fans it gives me immense satisfaction. Especially when he presents valid and credible thoughts as to why he feels the way he does.
Same. Halloween has the worst fan base of all time.
I honestly had no idea the Halloween fan base is so toxic. I realized that once Cody started to get harassed for his thoughts on the franchise.
@@SlasherIncorporated it's honestly made me reconsider my love for the franchise more than once.
I'm ultra late but I have to reply. As a HUGE Halloween fan I don't understand when the fanatics put down people who have a different opinion on Halloween then mine per se. After all it's just a bloody movie and every one is entitled to their own opinion. As a Horror Fanatic I'm just happy to share the love of horror films within our community. We like what we like and should never be made to feel different because our opinions vary.
@@SlasherIncorporated People got angry at me for not liking Rob Zombie's Halloween Remakes. It was mostly Rob Zombie Fans. They got mad at me for hating the Halloween Remake and started sending me hate comments and Death Threats.
SCREAM, all the sequels are just super subpar compared to the original
Scream 2 is not bad, the rest... ugh.
I completely agree!
@@JP5466 Scream 2 isnt bad but the killers are kinda eh with some impossible scenarios unless teleportation is involved
I think I’m the only one who likes the hangover sequels 😭
They are alright time wasters imo I think Todd Phillips as a filmmaker grew quite a bit as a filmmaker due to those films. Something like The Hangover 3 reminds me of Joker specifically that opening and some of the violence.
I didn't even like the first one, so...yeah.
I like the 2nd hangover, but it’s not as good as the first
Phantasm is one of those franchises where I really enjoyed the sequels, I agree with the creator that it should have been standalone. It was a victim of studios demanding a sequel, just like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and even A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Not me they should of stopped after 3 it started getting boring
100% agree about Halloween
Fantastic video Cody! Agree on everything especially Jaws! Although I must admit I still throw Jaws 3 in every few years & get drunk & laugh my ass off. You are quickly becoming one of my favorite you tubers! Your videos are awesome, well made, love your backgrounds & your commentary is insightful & often pretty funny. Keep up the good work!!!👍👍👍
1. Pacific Rim
2. The Matrix
3. Taken
4. The Hangover
5. Jurassic World*--let me explain. I feel this was great classic feel to the original Jurassic Park….but we didn’t need more.
6. Clash of the Titans
7. Halloween
8. Ghostbusters
9. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
10. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
11. A Quiet Place (I was surprised we were getting a sequel and I was apprehensive…, but wow was it done well. Still didn’t need it.)
Honorable mentions that haven’t been released
Joker….yes a script is in talks

2:56 Yeah even without the sequels Halloween ending with Michael on the loose would still have been great. It would have been similar to the original Black Christmas's ending where Jess and the police think Peter's the killer but he's innocent and Billy's still lurking around.
The lost boys did not need a sequel!
Solid List Cody. I complain about The Hangover, Matrix and Taken sequels all the time.
Hey man, I saw your top 50 horror list, and loved that video.. I thought a cool idea would be to do your top 50 worst horror movies.. idk if you’ve done it already, but yeah you could cover both ends of the spectrum.. legit just came into my head and thought it was a good idea 😂
I would put devils rejects in this list personally. I loved the ending, it just fit those three so well. Them surviving made zero sense. I feel like that gun fight wouldn’t have stopped until all three had several bullets in their brain.
Great list. I completely agree about Halloween, Jaws and Speed, they should had stayed one offs. I'm surprised you didn't mention Pet Semetary, what I saw of the sequel was awful, plus it wasn't needed. I also think Dragonhart should have stayed one movie, the story ended well and didn't need a sequel. Thank you Cody!
The list is very professionally made. I heavily agree with no:1. I do have other honourable mentions that prehaps should've been on the list. The most unnecessary sequels goes to...
- Transformers
- Resident Evil
- Wrong Turn
- Independence Day
- Alien (Only the first 2 are masterpieces)
- Predator (Only the first 2 are great)
Halloween should have been a anthology series
The Hangover, Taken, The Matrix, Speed, Jaws, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween and most of the horror movies should have stayed standalone movies and Terminator 2 should have been the ending of the Terminator series.
Great list Cody and take care and stay safe 👍🏻.
Halloween should've ended after the sequel
I got another. Jurassic Park didn't need sequel. All the sequels make the legacy worse to the oint that now Dinosaurs are reclaiming the earth at the cost of human life. They should have just left it at one.
awesome list!
Dude is the intro music from Stay Metal Ray? I swear I’ve heard that riff played from him lots.
Great video btw!
I agree with you there Cody on Halloween. I'm just wishing and imagining the possibility that we could have got, an Anthology series of Horror films by John Carpenter, oh if only. I really want to see what clever and crazy ideas he could have came up with for the Anthology of Halloween horror, makes me in a way wish that Halloween fans didn't go and just blantenly demand for Michael to always return 😒
I'm positive all those films would have been classics for me, and to think The Thing would have released soon after too...man
Fight night 1985 should have not had a sequel I will admit I do have some fun with the second one but as the concept of a vampire living next door to someone who's a horror fan like us to me Tom Holland done in spades he's a fantastic director so fright should have not had a sequel like the lost boys one of the greatest
Sick shirt man! Going to see them at Welcome to Rockville in November. One of my favorites.
gonna be such a kick ass show!
I still can't believe they made sequels to Jaws
