- The Ford Explorer Sport Trac, sometimes referred to as simply the Ford Sport Trac, is a mid-size sport utility truck (SUT) sold mostly in North America produced by Ford from 2000 through 2010. The Sport Trac was based on the Ford Explorer SUV - not based on the compact Ford Ranger (North America) - because it was introduced when the Explorer and Ranger platforms diverged (Explorer's chassis was a heavy duty variant of the Ranger's). The Sport Trac fell between the Ranger and Ford F-Series in Ford's truck lineup, based on capability and price. It competed with other mid-size SUTs, trucks and SUVs, such as the mid-size Honda Ridgeline SUT and even the larger full-size Chevrolet Avalanche SUT. During its first year on sale in the U.S., there was a waiting list of over 3 months. It was technically the first body-on-frame sport utility truck. The Sport Trac was a Class 2 vehicle with a GVWR of 6250 lbs. and a maximum GCWR of 12,000 lbs. This made it one of the more and the then most capable mid-size pickups, having a greater GVWR and GCWR than the Dodge Dakota, GM's GMC Canyon/Chevrolet Colorado pickups and Toyota Tacoma.[citation needed]
The Sport Trac was discontinued in October 2010, even though it was announced in earlier press releases that production would end in 2011, since the 2011 unibody-Ford Explorer was introduced in December 2010. The Sport Trac was sold through the 2011 calendar year as a 2010 model.
A special SVT version called the Sport Trac Adrenalin was planned for the 2007 model year, but was canceled.[2] However, the Adrenalin sub-model returned for 2008 as a sportier version of the Sport Trac featuring a black-out grille and trim.

Man what a beauty that Adrenalin.
Shaved too. And lowered.
Hurricane Harvey took my Adrenalin. 😭 Will probably always be my favorite truck I ever owned.
Very very sorry to year that.
Don't let that stop you from getting another one. 😎
Still one of the baddest explorers ever.
I have one also, one of the last 2010s full loaded. It's fantastic vehicle, my pride and joy.
A real joy to drive, lots of turned heads when I go by. Of course, TORCH RED, no other color depicts the ADRENALIN.....
🤘💯
My favorite Adrenalin color is Lightning Blue 💙.
Also these adrenaline’s hold great resale value! And clean 2010 with under 100k miles can fetch close to 20k, compare that with a Eddie baur explorer with same miles for 8-12k
The Adrenalin is also much rarer.
I wish they had made this, well, used this engine because I guess technically they did make this just not with the cobra engine
Can you imagine if Ford SVT had actually built this Sport Trac Adrenaline and that 2004 F150 Lightning concept truck for production had they gone through with it? I can only imagine...........
A terminator engine in a lighter truck😳 that would’ve been awesome
can I get one!
I wonder who kept that one....
Good question.
usually concepts get crushed
usually concepts get crushed
Is in Michigan a private owner has it.
They should have made it.
Uhh, they did...
+azhurelwarrior now its dead
+azhurelwarrior Actually they didn't.....not with the supercharged engine anyway. Anyone who has a supercharger on theirs did so aftermarket. Adrenaline was a trim package only unfortunately.
***** Sill made them though.
+azhurelwarrior Ok you're right if that is what you're needing to hear. I don't call a single concept a production run though where it can be said that they "made them". They made one, and it was probably destroyed.
No brembo for lightning...poor choice trucks sucks to stop
