I have a 2007 Limited 4x4 V8 with just over 90k miles. Big enough for family camping, too small to help anyone move. I actually love the door release handle seems more eronomic and intuitive. Height of bed is great cubic ft space for mulch, dirt, ...
07 XLT. I love it and did a video on my flowmaster super 10 exhaust.
Nice!!
Yeah the inner door handles are definitely a cool factor. Love the truck. You are a lucky and blessed man.
That V8 is a beast. I love the uniqueness of it but just can't get over the impracticality of it as you mentioned. If it got decent MPG it would be a win but otherwise the maverick is a great reiteration
The nice thing about having a small bed is nobody ask me to help them move 😂
I had a grand ol time with this time capsule. Again, thanks to David and Georgie for letting me look at their beautiful truck!
I purchased a 2004 model brand new 0% financing.. it's now February 2024 and it's still my daily driver.
With almost 300,000 miles, this has been hands down the best vehicle I ever owned and still runs like a sewing machine.
Definitely not getting rid of this vehicle but looking for another SUV and if the Lincoln Aviator is half the vehicle this has been I'll still be happy..
You cannot go wrong with a Sport Trac they're about bulletproof .
Mine still looks incredibly good ..have done all the maintenance and repaired everything that needs to be repaired as with any vehicle.
That is excellent! Happy to hear it has served you well!
My 2006 Sport Trac is sitting at 250K miles on my 4.6 and it still runs great. I have a new Bronco, but generally drive this truck as my daily driver.
Oh nice! Excellent!
This kinda caught my eye too while I was looking for a used midsized pick up or sport ute as an outdoor recreational vehicle. Your video helped a lot. I appreciate you.
Right? They’re kinda cool! Thanks for watching!
This is definitely a workhorse of a truck. Awesome video, didn't know they had rear sliding mirror, that's pretty neat. Thank you Bern
Thank you! Yeah they’re real neat trucks!!
I got an 07 limited 6 months ago,(my first vehicle ever) and it had some issues. But I loved it so I fixed it up and its running like new again!!! At work, quite a few farmers(we buy rice from farmers) told me they were looking at that truck while it was on the lot at the dealership. If I didn't get it when I did, I wouldn't have gotten it. Love it so much.
Nice! Yeah good choice!
My firat vehicle was a 2002 sportrac. It didn't have 4x4 which was only downside for me... but I couldn't have had a more reliable and amazing first vehicle and stayed strong wth no issues for 10 years
great video and great truck. I have a 2007 IronMan edition 4x4 V6. That thing has been offroad and rear-ended by a camry at 50 mph, still going strong. 150k miles and it still runs well. 5-speed is holding up well. I just had to get some front-end suspension work done and it drives like new now.
Thank you!
Nice LOL what a tank!
Just bought a 2010 Sport trac limited with 210k miles. From what the truck in your video sounds like and how you described, it’s sounds like at almost double the mileage. The Sport trac has held up really well.
Nice! Sounds like a solid vehicle for you
I got 2005 sport trac XLT with 350,000miles rear Wheel drive love doing Donuts rainy days one owner live South Carolina runs great here in mountains.
Off-road 2.
Damnnn 350k!! Thats sweet haha
I have a 2008 near identical to the video model. It's been a great truck! Looks even better on bigger off road wheels and tires!
Sweet!! Yeah big tires make them look great!
Minute 9:45 The Door handles 🤣🤣🤣 🏆. LOVE those funky door handles. No one knows how to get out 😂😂😂
They're great LOL
Whoa. Forgot about those. Very cool! Still looks great.
They are!! Seriously forgotten
The Sport Trac Adrenaline has been my dream truck since I was in highschool! I've been looking for one, without 200k miles 😂😂😂! These things were used and abused. No doubt!!
That’s cool!! I never paid much attention to them until now! 😂
@@BernonCars They came out in 2008 during the recession and only made until 2010 so very few were sold. Tragically this was the last of the Sport Trucks, like the tacoma X runner or Chevy S-10 Extreme. I really wish they would do sporty slightly lowered trucks with body kits again.
My 2001 sport truck has 240k miles and still runs great.
Danggg noice man! Rock on
I have a 4.6 4x4 Sport Trac, it's absolutely not front wheel drive! The full-time four wheel drive system is Borg Warner's Torque on Demand, which is _rear_ wheel drive by default, with a computer-controlled clutch locking the front wheels to the rear in increments, up to full lockup. With the 4.6 motor it's possible to get a little _rear_ wheel spin before ToD and traction control kicks in. With Michelin X Ice tires, my Sport Trac was very stable through Wisconsin winters and a Chicago blizzard or two, and with all season tires it gets through New Mexico dirt roads no problem.
Nice, interesting! My source seems to have failed me LOL. That’s good to know! They seem sturdy!
20:05 I've only seen an Envoy XUV once, in North Dakota of all places! The rear window was gone but the truck was a solid runner
Ohh good eye! I'd love to review one of those
I always thought these were brilliantly conceived and very well styled. Ford should have kept making them 😊
Right!
I love the first gen Sport Trac. A friend of mine got a brand new one in high school and it was a wonderful little truck. I might pick one up next summer as an extra vehicle.
Edit: Those SOHC 4.0L engines are 'junk'. As much as I love these trucks, it would be wise to be careful. They MUST have their oil changed religiously every 3k miles because of the timing chain. The engine has three timing chains, there is one from the crank to the jackshaft, one in the front of the engine to drive the cam for the left bank, and one more on the back to drive the cam for the right bank. It is not so much the chain but the chain guides are plastic and with dirty and hot oil they wear prematurely. VERY expensive to repair and may as well buy a totally remanufactured engine with the known issues fixed. I had an 04 Explorer up until recently with 148k miles and it ran fantastic but she did like to slowly leak a smidge of oil, but never had to add any oil. I changed the oil every 6-months or 3k miles, it was a secondary vehicle and it never left town, even though it was in great condition.
So as stated, I'd love to have one but service records are a must have or skip the first generation and get the second generation with the V8.
Interesting insight on these!
I have 2008 Ford Sports trac xlt - i've had it since then - and I love this truck. it has 181000 mile on it, and don't want to buy a new truck , does anyone know how much it would it cost to rebuild the total truck to new standards?
My favorite truck. I have a 2007 XLT V8. Did a video for the Flowmaster Super 10 Exhaust. Saving for a K&N, a Tune, and some cams. Im at 183k miles.
Nice!! I bet it sounds pretty sweet
Can it tow a trailer? I have the same with 62000 original miles on it from my late granny.
@LovelyBri depending on the size/weight of the trailer...Yes
Nice review. I'm dreaming of a 2010 Adrenalin with V8, navigation package and in lightning blue 💙 😎
Thanks! Nice that’s a sweet truck!
Oh yeah. A real conversation starter. 😉
You missed the most ultimate Sport Trac of all times the Adrenaline... amazing body graphics and design with peppy performance of the 4.6. I honestly think an updated version of this vehicle would sell like hotcakes
Yeah!! Hope I can find one one day
St Louis in the house.
I need a console for my 2004 sport trac, can anyone help me???
What year is that truck
I love that model
I have an 03. 214k miles. Still going strong.
Nice!
Thinking of getting a 04 with 230,000 miles. Should I only need it to run for at least a year
Nice vid but I have to correct you about the full time all wheel drive, this gen of explorer had rwd bias all wheel drive, while the later generations had fwd bias, I believe you mixed up the two
Thanks for that! I thought so, would be weird if it was FWD!
Wow I have NEVER heard of this one.😮
I’m glad I have enlightened you 😂
That's what I love about this truck. It is something not anyone knows about.
I have a 2001 Sport Trac, nothing better to back any trailer in a tight spot
Nice yeah that visibility is awesome
I just got 2007 in blue limited. I’ll let how does after few weeks. Pick it’s on 10/31/23
Nice, enjoy it!
One more day I get my Ford explorer sport trac . I’ll try and make a good video .
That’s exciting man!
Is the 2002 sport trac worth the buy? Ive heard alot of good and bad
I would look for a younger one honestly
This vs the explorer 2010 don’t they all just suffer of transmission issues ? I’m asking because I’ve owned one for 2 years and it’s really bankrupting me (I own the explorer 2007 tho) is there something different about this one ?
Interesting I’m not sure!
I love this car, but this transmission is the absolute nightmare !!!!!!!
@@sebastianfarias5670How much did you have to pay to get it fix or is it a recall for the transmission.
@@orlandoturbo6431 as a matter of fact I’ve had it fixed 6 times now, the problem with these old trucks is that once they start failing, it’s a domino effect where one thing breaks the next and so on, I have paid over 7k US I don’t live in the US tho, but mechanics complaint about this truck because rebuilding or repairing these is not and easy task and they end up losing money on repairs because they continue to fail like crazy
@@sebastianfarias5670 Thanks for the input it sounds like my 92 Chevy Cavalier every month it seem like I had to put it in the shop. So I finally got rid of it.
sport trac, tacoma, frontier, ridgeline..... which will you choose?
Hmmm a tough question!!! I’d be torn honestly. I would say it’d be a tie between Tacoma and Ridgeline
Sport Trac. But with the Adrenalin package. 😎
No doubt, SPORT TRAC 😊😊😊😊
I like my 01 Sport Trac.
Sweet!
Nice job Bernard.
Thank you Ben!
Colorado didn't have a v8, it was the 2.4 or 2,2 i4 and the 3.7 i5. also those trucks are mainly rear wheel drive when awd is off. good video tho hoss. This is probably the best video review of the sport trac I've seen!
They did!! I've seen one in person 😂 Some got the 5.3 in the very last years! I appreciate that!!
Need a new one
wish they kept the column shifter
Yeah right me too
I'm surprised by the legroom in the front
Right it's pretty spacious!
LOL screw Ridgeline. The Sport Trac had independent suspension before the Ridgeline even heard of it. 😂
I like the Ridgeline! 😂
I just bought a 2003 ford explorer sport trac xlt and it has an infinite amount of electrical issues
That is unfortunate!
Ford has done a great job keeping this truck a secret! What are they going for on the used car market?
I see them in decent shape for 7-10k in my area!
I LOVE my truck. On my second one. Coming from a luxury sedan I am not cramped and can tow and haul.
Perfect for me.
Found in the ATL area where they seem to breed like rabbits😜. Here in florida they were very
rare.
👍👍👍
The Cardinals license plate says this truck is owned by intelligent people!!!
Hahaha yes they are!!
@@BernonCars Go Cards!
I have a 2005 bought new
Oh wow sweet!
I could never actually see the purpose of this truck.
Hauling mulch, or other home/yard things
If you don't want something as large as the F-150, but need four regular sized doors (the Ranger didn't get those in the US until 2019), this could work.
The Ranger was a 2 door at the time. This was ahead of its time. The modern "Dad car" is a 4 door truck.
Haha other weirdos & weirdo guy lol
Lol
Does that bed cover come off if you needed it to be removed for hauling purposes?
It does come off yeah!
